So, who actually won the best of show? * Takeuchi / New Holland- has a really nice track loader * Yanmar has a great mini excavator & tractor .. It seems like every manufacturer has some type of Yanmar engine in it.. * John Deeree G-60 Compact Excavator Smooth controls / Capabilities * Ferris 6200 diesel - nice but $$$ * Badboy stand-on / Exmark mower - I was impressed with both * Kioti / TYM - always has great equipment * Greenwork / Kress - I am very impressed with the battery-operated landscaping capabilities. *** Great video, It's always. Nice to run into RUclipsrs ... Great Expo !!!
Great video Joe! I'm torn on John Deere or TYM. I want TYM for great prices and extra functions and features that you have to pay extra money for in JD. JD is closer to my house by over an hour 😬 but the prices are ridiculous. Plus, people tell me that JD has greater resale or trade value. I don't intend to ever get rid of my tractor but sometimes the Lord will have other plans for your life. TYM is 1.5 hours away and claimed less resale value or JD, which is 12, 15, or even 18k more expensive but only 20 minutes from the house. Suggestions? God Bless you and your family! 😊
Hi Jason, thanks for watching! All I can say is that when I looked at John Deere they were less than friendly. I have had 4 tractors (Kioti and TYM) and all of them get the job done. I think at this point all machines are built well...manufacturing is just really good these days. Get the most hp you can afford and get a cab if you plan to use it year round. Also, do some research on the TYM (Kukje) engines. They are legendary and it really sold me on TYM. Unless you are buying a combine or 160hp tractor, I really can't see why one would pay the green paint premium. It is a head scratcher why they cost so much. It's not because they are built in the US. Most sub 100hp JD tractors are built overseas. Save your money and buy more tractor than you think you are ready for. (And get the cab!). Hope that helps!!!

You get what you paid for. I hate dealing with my Deere dealer but have a 20 year old Deere in the shop as we speak and have no problems getting parts or service. I also can sell it for what I paid for it 20 years ago. Pay upfront or pay for it in the end.

Hey Scott; thanks for the kind words. Not sure where the batteries are from but I know Greenworks (and others) have been moving a lot of their operations from China to Taiwan and Vietnam. Both are becoming powerhouses in manufacturing. Would be hard to build them in the US, the HOA's wouldn't allow it! Lol
I'd rather have shuttle shift vs whiny hydrostatic. Just me. I operated new Holland and cat construction backhoes and liked the shuttle shift especially when using the front 4 in 1 loader.
Hydro whine is annoying for sure; which is why I have always had a power shuttle or shuttle shift. But man it's handy! I'd love a 73hp hydrostatic machine that was quiet.
I don't think that they could ever leave that market. They do make some of the best small engines around. I saw a lot of mowers, but they also had some engine booths. Definitely all in.
So from what i gather that greenworks power cube is just a large battery to charge your smaller batteries with? So you are still going to have to buy several smaller batteries and now a giant battery to support the smaller ones how many charges before the batteries are basically useless and also how many charge cycles can the big battery take before needing replacement im sorry but this is just stupid
The larger battery will charge the machines while in transit between jobs. This is a commercial setup. You need two sets of batteries and while using one, the other is being charged. I think it's really smart for a crew mowing all day and not wanting to spend time fueling or going to fill gas cans. That's 1-2 more properties that could be cut and help pay for the whole setup. I don't need something like this; but I think it's nice. Especially for neighborhoods where people get sick of hearing mowers all day. It's not for me, but I think it's impressive and definitely the future.
That cube was $20k. I think with time it will make a ton of sense. But it made so much more sense as we talked about it. No time fueling or buying fuel and the gear charges in the trailer while you sleep
Hey Joe, not saying that you’re right or wrong but I believe the movie down the street that has his eyes set on opening on the lawn care service doesn’t have that kind of money to get started. He might have $100 to go get a push mower and build from there to me this is pushing people to go somewhere where they don’t want to go or this is something that people should have the choice in the matter of whether they want to go that way or not to go that way
I think you may be taking this out of context. There is no way anyone suggests that a local kid with a push mower is going to buy this kind of equipment. And, there will always be a choice to buy what you want (gas or electric). There were gas mowers at the show pushing 40 grand. The battery equipment starts to make sense when you think of the fuel use (and cost) in some areas. There was some serious equipment there for real pro's. But to each their own. For instance, I prefer an electric chainsaw and blower but I want a gas mower. I don't see myself getting rid of my gas or diesel equipment. But, I love that this type of innovation is happening. Pretty cool to have options...thanks for the feedback.

I’m not a fan of the battery tools like Greenworks. I see the appeal and my boss has several Stihl and Milwaukee blowers and trimmers that are battery powered. To me it sounds like a lot of money for battery powered tools and then after a year of heavy use you would be replacing batteries. No thanks.
Hey Dan, I get it man. I was slow to adopt them too. But the greenworks batteries will last literally thousands of cycles. They are tested extensively. I was really surprised when I heard what they put them through. It's hard to let our gas equipment go...but I haven't used my backpack blower or gas chainsaws in a couple seasons since getting the battery powered tools. Appreciate you watching!
The one thing I noticed is not many of these companies jumping on the battery driven equipment bandwagon is they fail in their videos to mention battery life and the disposal of them, versus the price of gasoline and maintenance. Unless I missed something PS. I have both and have not seen a big advantage yet . 10:44

I've been using Greenworks garbage for years. My gas chainsaws, hedge trimmers and backpack blower have basically been retired. I like the electric power better.

The thing is a 25HP with the extra weight of a cab and running AC is going to lose a lot of power for pulling and up hills

Tractors are getting way too computerized and cause a lot of issues, especially with farmers or owners being able to work on their own equpiment
