    I feel like gangsters and criminals have ruined things for everyone. As I was watching this video, I was thinking perhaps some people didn't help her because they were too lazy or maybe because she could've been setting them up to a robbery where there might be more people in the alley way.

      Yup, where I live they use young children (sometimes even toddlers that can barely talk) to lure people (usually women) into dark places or other isolated places so they can rob, rape or murder you which is why (unless one has a big group with them) people would be very wary of helping her, especially at night

      But actually there are crimes that make bad use of these good hearts of people. I learned in a lecture that there are crime cases in which a young woman asked to walk down a dark alley together and so when he/she arrives at the black van they kidnap him/her. This is a NEW METHOD OF CRIME! So when you are in this kind of situation and you want to help, you should call your family or friend while walking with her and tell your location and explain that you are walking another person, in case of emergency. I hate that we have to get suspicious and doubt a person in need, but this is the REALITY. Sorry for taking your hope back and sorry for my bad english.

    Be careful when a stranger asks for help in these situations especially in Western countries. A lot of what sex traffickers do is use women to lure people in since most people don't think a woman is involved. A woman will ask you for help (even in broad daylight), a lot of times they ask to use your phone because theirs is "dead". That way they call from your phone and have your number. They will usually call the person they are working for saying a code phrase (could be anything, even "Can you pick me up at the grocery store" to make it believable) in order to confirm they have someone they want to take in. Then the woman will leave to make herself not suspicious but will most likely be following you from a distance where you cant see her until the others come to then take their victim. I know this was a long comment but I did not know this until recently soI just wanted to spread awareness. Always be careful even if you don't think a situation or person could be dangerous.

I told him that I was traveling but considering looking for a place to live for a while. He said that he could get me a job paying big bucks. I was young and naive. He told me to meet him a couple days later with his boss and they could get me really good work with lots of money. I was a little leery, bit a couple days later, I meet with him and his boss. They strung me along for a while and finally told me that if I can get them women, I can make big money and even more if I capture young girls. I started sweating. I didn't know what to do. They seemed to be really nice people and then this. I was really worried so I said I could do it. The one guy said to his boss, "See, I told you he would be the right guy." I slowly got away from them and never saw them again. I was afraid to go to the police. I have seen too many Hong Kong movies. Anyway, don't judge America by the news. Ok honestly that guy had the right idea. If you live in America and some girl asks you to walk her down a dark alley, there's like a 6/10 chance she's baiting you into a robbery or a group of people are gonna kidnap you right around the corner if you follow her. Take precautions. There are non emergency security phone lines that people can use, there's no reason for a random girl to walk up to strangers and ask them to walk down a dark alley. This only will be safe in a safe neighborhood in a place like Korea, not anywhere in America or other less safe countries.

    • @jmsomps
      @jmsomps 5 лет назад +1

      @@jasonpeng5798 You can't say "not anywhere in America." well, you CAN say it, but it is a wrong statement. There are a lot of safe places in America. Big cities are always going to be dangerous. One of the problems now is that they let all the crazy people roam the streets now and you can't say, "Hey, be careful of that crazy person." or you will get trolled by people from all over the world, It's not just America. Most places with big cities are going to have bad people. Japan was the safest place i ever felt. Taiwan has night and day. I hung out at a game place late at night and a group of police were going by the companies collecting "Protection money" and they didn't like me watching so 2 of them came over to harass me. They demanded my passport and when I stood up, they got afraid because I'm tall. I guess they thought it might not be a good idea to harass me and went back with the other guys talking crap as they walked away. Taiwan is a great place to live, but like I said, every place has good and bad. CNN International always shows all the bad stuff that happens here. When I lived in Japan, I was afraid to come back to America, but I've been safe with no problems for 25 years now. America is a really huge country. I know many places that I would have no problem walking around at night. I just don't go to those beg cities though. LA. New York City. Detroit, Chicago, Miami. Nope.

    When I was younger, I was walking home by myself then I turned to an empty and creepy corner and I was too scared to walk through it, so I sat next to a random garage crying. The owner of the garage walked out and he asked me if I was alright and if I knew my parent's phone number so he can call them for me. I immediately recognized him as a classmate's parent and he went out of his way to help me get home. I was so thankful that he helped my pathetic kiddy self get all the way home safely. The smallest helping hand from someone could completely change another person, just how him helping me made me start putting myself in others shoes or seeing things in their perspective. I'll always be grateful.

    i would die for that man in the suit, not only did he walk with her, but he empathized with her and shared that he gets scared sometimes too as a way to comfort her, and he even told her about the emergency bells if she ever were in trouble. he's so kind.

  • @nono-fb8tr
    @nono-fb8tr 5 лет назад +825

    It would be wonderful if I lived somewhere where I could be nice enough to help someone like that but unfortunately, using a lure like a lost, scared young girl is absolutely a trafficking tactic. For most people, especially women who have been in this situation before, our first instinct is to help this girl. Human traffickers who use these tactics rely on women wanting to help and also not wanting to seem rude or dismissive. The most commonly known example of this is playing a recording of a baby crying outside of a woman's window at night. A lost child follows the same behavior pattern; immediate desire to help.
    I would have perhaps waited with the girl and told her to call her aunt out, but most likely I would have said "I'm sorry I can't go with you." and booked it. The likelihood of being jumped and kidnapped trying to help what you think is a distressed child is very high. In fact my city is a trafficking hub and just a few years ago there was a minor trafficking ring bust literally around the corner from my home.
    If you live in a place like America, do not immediately follow any stranger who requests something of you, even a child. You can look up the best way to help a lost child in your area (it's usually staying right there and calling a non-emergency police line. Definitely do not walk away with the child since that can incriminate you as well lol).
    In this world, people prey on kindness. It is so wrong to immediately jump to conclusions such as "The person at the beginning is an asshole" while not knowing why they simply moved along. Even though these videos shine a light on the kindness that lives still in so many of us, you have to be aware of the real life consequences of first-instinct action. Be kind, be helpful, but be street smart and educated about it.

    • @alexanderjquest7938
      @alexanderjquest7938 5 лет назад +93

      couldn't have said this better myself, the world is really messed up and people will constantly abuse others kindness. Sucks that the kind people are the ones ended in a really bad situation such as trafficking.... its disgusting and a real thing. So take everything with a grain of salt and some context, i myself would've been scared to walk this girl down an dark alley and i'm not afraid to admit it even if it may seem rude. I'll try to help her in any other way, but doing something as careless as that seems so sketchy, to me at least.

    • @Murf181
      @Murf181 5 лет назад +49

      I agree which is why I feel this social experiment spreads the wrong message. Not every neighborhood is as safe as that. It spread a message that it okay for a child to ask strangers to escort them down an empty Street or for people to be lured into an ambush from predators. If someone or you need help just call the police or nonemergency numbers should have been the message.

    It's fine she's just probably lost and scared of the dark street
    *what if she leads us somewhere unsafe?*
    What?

    We don't have much anyway. We broke asf what are u talking about????

    사회 실험이라고 하고 사람들을 시험하는듯한 이런 컨텐츠는 자제되었으면 좋겠다고 생각한다.
    물론 저렇게 실험카메라인걸 모른 채 도우려는 단순한 마음으로 대부분 적극적으로 행동하는 것은 사람들에게 동정을 얻을 것 이다. 문제라면 또 문제다. 정말 저런 여학생을 도와주려고 나서서 따라가주다가 어깨형님들이 대기하고 있다면 당신인생은 거기서 끝난거다. 모르는 사람을 경계하라기 보단 모르면 모른 척 하며 지나가는 것도, 때론 능동적으로 피해갈줄도 알아야한다. 조심해라 장기털리는건 순식간이다. 사회 실험이 아닌 정말 저런 것들을 이용해먹을 수 있다는 것이다. 범죄자들은 이영상을 보고 무슨 생각을 할까 생각해봤다. 상상만 해도 소름이끼친다. 시민들의 동정을 이끌어내는 이런 영상보다 정말 이런 것들을 주의해주는게 최우선이라고 생각한다. 호의 한번에 인생이 걸릴 수 있다.

    Makes me remember the same situation happens to me some time ago during festival late at night, a girl asked me if i could help to drop her to her home, it was late night and no cabs available. I asked her what were you doing here all alone in the first place, she said she was with her friends and then she lost track with her friends and tried looking and calling for her friends but it was useless. And so i dropped her to her destination with my bike.
    I'm glad and happy at a same time because she trusted me.

      That's cause you're a city girl like me and in the States we can't be as trusting. I live in Chicago. Mannn, if somebody asked me to walk them down a dark alley at NIGHT I'd immediately think they were up to something because there is all sorts of ways to get to a location without ever having to go through an alley. Women get raped and human trafficked entirely too much for any woman to take that chance.
