    Why isn't anyone talking about the girl? She offered to guide him, but didn't know how, and asked him and readily helped him. And considering how there's an ever growing fear of sexual predators, she still helped him, she's such a good person. "how must I guide you" that sentence just warmed my heart so much

    Edit: I understand how blind people orientate themselves, just thought this dude deserved more credit since I didn't see another comment saying it. As someone who naturally has all of his senses heightened, I get how it works

      @michaelcurtin6085 2 года назад +8

      I am not sure how long he has been blind if since birth or later ... but my mother lost her sight as an adult, her other senses over time helped her get around , I am sure it is the same for him other skills become sharper to offset the lost of sight... I think the same is for people I have known who couldn't hear...

    • @mell0w_heart
      @mell0w_heart 2 года назад +5

      When you lose a sens, another one grows: that means that if you're blind, your faculty to hear people, voice, even footstep is more developped that any other human without disability. It's a strong "power" in my opinion, because it's very helpfull!

    • @alistairt7544
      @alistairt7544 2 года назад +4

      Your brain re-distributes it's focus and your other senses are heightened as a response, especially hearing. Us humans are resilient and adaptation is key to survival. It truly us amazing how people with disabilities really cope and adapt to their situations. We really take many things for granted.

I here horror stories of how Americans ( I am American) traveling abroad are rude and demanding. I hope to travel to Korea and other parts of Asia, the last 15 years I have traveled to Colombia SA were many locals mistake me for being Colombian, surprised when I tell them I am from the States as those they have met prior were rude.... I was raised that as a guest no matter where to be respectful, never to be an ungrateful guest

Why do people that are not blind get on their high horse when their is a misunderstanding but blind people are cool and kind enough to explain and be cheerful anyways

    Korean elderly are really tsundures. When I was on a solo trip in korea once I couldn't speak the language well and it was midnight when I was tryign to get the taxi. I rode it but the driver couldn't understand and find my location because of the way I read it and he got angry and I got off. I was nearly in tears and afraid as as it was my first overseas solo trip. I slowly walked outside the road. I was really angry and upset and thought this was the worst experience ever in a country but he suddenly pulled over again and realised he had called the foreigner taxi office for me and I managed to tell her the directions and she translated for me. He told me to get in. I nearly cried from relief and thought ahhh so actually they are kind.

      IK when I went to a night market in Korea last year I was simply amazed seeing a lot of things that I have never seen before so I asked the sellers(elderly) a lot of questions but in English as I don't know how to speak Korean well. One of the seller seemed to get quite frustrated as she can't understand me. Seeing that made me feel shocked and timid so I was about to leave but I was so tired walking around all day I sat at a nearby place from the stall and minutes later she came up to me and offered me a plate of already pealed tangerines. I feel so touched because I was so tired and hungry having walked to places all day with no time to eat and perhaps the 'auntie'(seller) could see that. I was really grateful

      I never thought "korean elderly are tsundures" but god that's so accurate lol. I had a similar situation with a taxi driver except it was because I got on the wrong but and it stopped running for the night once it got to the bus depot. There were literally no taxis in the area I could call and I was stranded in a quiet neighborhood on the other side of the mountain from where I was supposed to be. I finally saw an off duty taxi driver having a smoke break and of course I felt bad for bothering him off the clock but he got all pissed and acted like he wasn't gonna help me until he walked over to his car and motioned for me to get in lol

      When i was in Korea with my friends one of them was hurt at her knee (wearing a splint). We all had little to no knowledge of the language but she got offered a seat on the subway a lot, even by older people. This was really heartwarming.
      When we were arriving with our huge luggages, people asked to help her at stairs before we could help her. I'm still touched how nice people were to her/us generally.

    This hits HARD for me. My little brother is blind, he lost his vision suddenly almost 2 years ago and when I see people going "oh over there, over there, over there" it's literally so frustrating, especially after they're told he's blind and can't see. People do this to my brother, and it just drives me crazy. If you should ever encounter this situation, please ask if the person would mind holding onto your elbow. It helps them feel where you're going, changes in elevation (stairs, street vs. sidewalk vs. grass etc.) and also helps them follow you easily without running into you or anyone you might pass. If you stop, they stop, if you turn, they turn. There were some very kind people in this video, and I really appreciate that kindness. It can be really, really hard to find.

    • @theashologist
      @theashologist 7 месяцев назад

      That's different you live with your brother so you are experienced on how you handle him with his condition. A random stranger who has never spoken or assisted a blind or deaf person wouldn't register that in their brain or even know how to go about helping them. I don't think they are doing that for fun or on person. Besides they are treating them as any ordinary person who asks for directions like a normal person. Some people don't like to be REMINDED that they have a disability. Because when you tell a stranger your situation they change their tone and act as if they are your nurse or care taker which passes off some people.

    개인적인 의견인데 그냥 보게 되면 일반사람이라고 보일정도로 특별하게 시각장애가 있어보인다는 느낌이 들지 않다보니
    도움을 받을 확률이 확실히 적어보인다는 생각이 드네요..
    만약 시각장애인분들이 사용하는 지팡이같은 도구라던지 지나가는 일반인이 누가봐도 이분이 시각장애가 있다는것을 판단케 된다면
    더욱더 도움의 손길이 뻗치지 않았을까 하는 생각을 해봅니다..
