    When you first use a coarse compound to prepolish and then put the polishing fine compound on top, you won't get the polishing finish because the coarse compound stays on the disc and just gets mixed with the polishing compound so essentially you waste the polishing compound and end up not polishing your piece.
    Keep talking with your hands! They're a part of our vocabulary :D
    I so respect your self-taught skills and am very impressed at the quality of your videos and what you do. Keep going!!

    I am impressed and most of all inspired. I admire your tenacity, your mindset, your work ethic, and your overall demeanor. You've taken on quite a bit; being an entrepreneur/business owner, a jeweler, a photographer, a videographer, a video editor, a social media influencer, all the while having a day job, being a mom, a wife, a family... and you're loving it all. I love it!

    The first compound has bigger grit particles and rouge smaller. Think of it as sand paper. Please don’t quote me, but it like using 1000, then 2000 sandpaper (not sure of numbers).
    If you don’t use two mops you will be polishing with both grits at the same time and not get the brilliant shine you want.
    Hope this info is helpful. Just found your channel and love you work. Well done on the grain setting, you are braver than me. 💍

    It's really nice to see relative beginners embracing gravers! Most awesome! You mentioned having to start all over again if you mess up a cast (not "casted"; past tense of cast is cast) piece; How about either making a mold yourself (of the wax or the final cast piece) or having your casting company make you a mold? If you need another, just message them. They will have your mold on file/in storage for you. They just send what you order. Great production on your content! 👏

    • @MiteraMade
      @MiteraMade  Год назад

      Thank you! It was a scary jump just to start practicing but it’s really rewarding when it works out 🙏🏻🙈 that’s a GREAT idea about molds! I am still relatively small though and a lot of my pieces are made one off, rarely do I replicate the same one over and over again. Is making the mold at home a straight forward process? That may be more cost effective at this stage then having the caster do it?
      Thank you again for your incredibly helpful comment, you’re amazing! 🙏🏻 May I ask what do you do? 💜

    Hi! I loved watching your video! I love your jewelry! I used to make jewelry, I made jewelry for 10 years. Back then my youngest child was five, when I started and I used to do craft shows. Then I did a few home shows. I had a website, then managed to get my jewelry in a gift shop and a fine jewelry store. I didn’t know how to market. I did learn who my target customer was. Social Media like Facebook and RUclips wasn’t a thing until the last few years of me making jewelry. I had three kids and a full time job. I took jewelry classes when I could to learn new techniques. I loved it and knew if I had found jewelry before having my kids, I would have made it a career. I ended up getting a job that took a lot of time and I had lots of activities with my kids and I stopped making jewelry.
    I know how hard this is and I think you are super talented!! Never let anyone bring you down. I love what you are doing and subbed immediately!
    Funny thing is I’ve been thinking about a RUclips channel. I’m now a Financial Coach and I loved that you talked about starting a RUclips channel and your jewelry.
    Oh, I still have all my fine silver, sterling silver, jewelry supplies and equipment. I just couldn’t get rid of it. Maybe one day I will go back when I retire and have time. Or maybe I will make jewelry just for me!
    Keep going!!! You are awesome! 💗

      That was so nice to read about your story!! You went SO far with it, I can tell you have a true true passion for making jewelry. 🥹 I would love to hear you reconnected with that old friend one day in the future! ☺️💜
      As for a RUclips channel for being a financial coach, I think that’s an AMAZING idea!! 🎉☺️

    Maybe not talent but you definitely have skills. Talent is natural, skills takes work and perseverance. Talent is stagnant, skills grow and have no limits. If you have talent you still need to grow your skills but you don't need talent to learn skills. ❤
