This is for blocking a ball that is in the dirt… I didn’t see her head in the ground? This is the correct way to block a ball in the dirt as a catcher. Her head is down that far in case the ball bounces up and hits the chest protector. The angle that the chest protector is at will force the ball in the direction of the glove.
hate to judge but she drops her chest far too much, also way too much movement when getting over a ball to knock it down, timing is also one of the key parts of learning how to block, which in this demonstration it is pretty off.
