  • All I have to say is, "Take a look for yourself!" :-) These awesome Hand Finished (Raw, Un-Polished Finish), Carbon-Fiber, MSI V2 Scales were purchased here: votixedc.com/collections/fron... & You can find the Skiff Bearings for the MSI and Amphibian here: www.skiffmadeblades.com/produ... Note: these Votixedc.com Carbon-Fiber Scales fit the 2nd Generation MSI, RAM-LOK, Folders and not the 1st Generation MSI Folders. The 2nd Generation, V2, RAM-LOK, MSI, Folders have a 1/4" Lockbar Switch Face. The 1st Generation, V1, has a larger Lockbar Switch Face. I hope this helps... :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)

    I'll vouch for votix's work. Threw on some carbon scales on my 535 bugout and completely transformed the knife. A world of difference. Made in Australia just like me..his work is super solid

      I just know, I absolutely luv my New Votixedc.com Carbon-Fiber Scales. They fit perfectly. I have been carrying my New Modded MSI everyday. If you don't want to increase the weight of your Polymer MSI, this is the way to go. I highly recommend Votixedc.com. I absolutely agree! :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)

    Awesome Kris! Can't wait until I replace the polymer handles on both my MSI with the scales from Original GOAT. Thanks for sharing brother! 👍

      You bet! I always let everyone know about the Mods I do on my personal folders. And, OG is one of the best for Handle Scales. You just have to wait for the Goats to make them for you and send them out. :-) I have my order in. :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)

    I'm so torn between these and the OG aluminum scales. I ADORE the blacked out sig series MSI and I have the black blade MSI.

      Hmmm... Between you and me, if I was to just get one of the two listed choices, I'd pick the OG Goat Scales.
      Myself, I have the Aluminum and Titanium OG Kits on order, already. :-) These Votixedc.com, Carbon-Fiber, Scales are nice. But, I expect the OG, MSI, Scale Kits to be "Super Nice!"
      The Votixedc.com, Carbon-Fiber, MSI Scales are real nice. They work perfectly on my Polymer MSI. But, the finish could have been nicer... To me, I think the Scales are a little too thin. They leave the Body Screw's, Heads, exposed...
      Other than that, if you can get used to that, then, they are perfect. What I do like about them, is how light they are. They don't add hardly any weight at all to your MSI. The Aluminum and Titanium Scale Kits from OG will...
      So, that's my honest evaluation. Any choice is a great one. My Carbon-Fiber MSI is a Daily Carry for me. And, I absolutely luv it! I forget it's in my pocket. It's a great SDUEDC Folder, in my opinion. I hope this helps. :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)

      @@Kris_Stiletto Thanks for the in-depth reply! I ended up going with the OG scales. I like carbon fiber for what it is and was really bummed that I'd lose the filler tab with the OG scales, I like the way it looks. But in the end, the Al scales won me over.

      Honestly, I cannot wait to get my OG, MSI, Aluminum Scales. If you watch my Videos on OG Scales, you'll find that I often, like the Aluminum Scale Kits from OG, the best. :-)
      Why? Well, compared to the Titanium Kits, they're lighter in weight. And, don't end up making the Folder too heavy. I absolutely luv Titanium. But, it's heavier than Aluminum... So, when I have the choice, between the two to carry, I, almost always, choose my Aluminum Handled Folders over my Titanium Folders. :-)
      Carbon-Fiber is desired by me because of it's ultra lightweight and superior strength over FRN type materials.
      But, to be honest, I do like the feeling of strength that the Metal Handle Scales have. I know everyone likes Titanium and Carbon-Fiber and Micarta. But, I must say, my two favorites are G-10 and Aircraft Grade Aluminum. :-)
      You made the choice I would've made. Now, we just have to wait for the Goats to fill our orders... :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)

      OG scales are awesome. But votix scales i have were also great. Stronger at OG, lighter at votix. Decisions Decisions. 😊

    How long did it take for yours to arrive? I’m 1&1/2 months in and still waiting for them to arrive

    • @Kris_Stiletto
      @Kris_Stiletto  3 месяца назад +1

      It was about 2 months. It was a long wait... it's my understanding that they're a small Family owned Business. They receive orders, first, then they make the items and then ship them out. So, it's a slow process.
      Often, when you purchase something from Custom Shops, it takes a while before you receive your items, due to much slower production times. I am sure they will be on their way very soon. :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)

    Which skiff bearings are the ones you got? Is it this one: Cage Bearings - Pivot: 8mm Ceramic Bearings: 1/16 in (20 ball)

    • @Kris_Stiletto
      @Kris_Stiletto  5 месяцев назад

      Yes. The MSI and Amphibian Microtech RAM-LOCK Folders use the exact same Bearings. I left a link in the show more of this post. Yes, you want to purchase the 8mm Pivot with 20 x 1/16" Ceramic Ball-Bearings,
      I don't have a Stitch. So, I was unable to test fit these Bearings with a Stitch. But, I would bet they use the same size Bearings. I hope this helps. :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)

      I just got my carbon fiber Scales from Votix. They look a little different from yours in the video. I was wondering, can I send you some pictures and you tell me if they look the same as yours or maybe my eyes are deceiving me?

      You must have the V1 or the Original Microtech Ram-Lock MSI...
      I found out from Original Goat that the Original MSI has a larger lockbar. The newer models, like mine, have a 1/4" size lockbar. I am talking about the external part of the lockbar that you grip to actuate the lock. That part of the lockbar is the part you measure.
      Take a look at the recent MSI Video Alert I put out about two days ago. I explain the size difference between the two versions of the MSI.
      I am sorry to hear that. I don't know if VotixEDC.com is aware of the two versions.
      I would contact VotixEDC.com and tell them that you have the Original MSI and the lockbar size is different. :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)

      Just wanted you to know that I tried to contact Votixedc.com, and they don't have a direct way to contact them. So, I left information in the Reviews Section explaining this issue between the two models. I hope this helps everyone else. I am sorry I didn't know about this issue before I made my first video on these scales. But, I wasn't the only one... Original Goat didn't know either... I found out from them when I purchased my Titanium MSI Scales from Original Goat. :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)
