Located in Springfield, Massachusetts, this fall fair features a ride midway from North American Midway, countless shops and vendors, shows, animals, and food galore. The event is on pace to set another attendance record in 2022 and for good reason. Find out everything you need to know about this fair in this review!

Fun fact about the State houses, each state house is actually owned by that state, and is considered that States territory. That is why it is patrolled by the State troopers from that state.

The two 'major' fairs I've been to in my life: the Minnesota State Fair and the Meadowlands State Fair. Haven't done the former recently, but I absolutely *love* that one!

Wow I was never expecting to see a Big E review here. I went once in 2018 and loved it, spent all day. As someone not from New England I had no idea what to expect. I rode a dark ride there that had nothing on the inside whatsoever and was very confused. The pig race was also one of my favs.

Mousetrap- while debatable if it’s a coaster credit-is actually a rare credit in itself! - It’s a reskinned Pretzel traveling dark ride, Meaning that it’s at least 50 years old!

That sounds so much better than the Tulsa Fair, which is going on right now. Every year, it sounds like nobody has any fun at our Fair, and the prices are too high for the little that is offered. It's one of the more expensive fairs I've seen, with $25 parking, $15 admission, $45 ride wristbands. Yet, it's always packed, and the lines for rides are always insane, probably because it's our only option to get on rides for people who don't travel. Tulsa's Fair is why I haven't liked fairs, but I'm starting to notice that maybe ours is the only terrible one.

The big e is not in Springfield, it’s actually located in West Springfield. Vendors take cards these days. The local schools have free tickets but typically only for the day that falls in the city you live in (i.e. Springfield day, chicopee day, ludlow day).

Yep! There is sooooo much to offer. Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo is similar. Not uncommon to see people wearing Mardi Gras beads + cowboy hats. Texas State Fair features "fried beer" Funny, people don't realize how popular these fairs are and they are held around the country. I'm a weekday guy when it comes to these. I like to "window shop" as well. Plus eat.

Are the rides here provided by the same company as London, Ontario’s Western Fair? I recognize many of the rides at this fair, but some had different names, even though they were the same models with similar paint schemes. I went to the Western Fair this year and had a great time!

Yay, never caught a canobie coaster video this early with no comments. I live in Michigan and North American midway entertainment puts on the chealsea fair near me. There round up is super forceful and runs a long cycle. And the 1001 nacht is super fun but is jerky. I would love to know all the rides they have but they don’t have all on their website. Just like 5 flats. If you ever get to Michigan during the state fair I would recommend. The have what I believe to be a arm/Larson drop tower, a zipper zero gravity, alien abduction. A super fast orbiter and tilt a whirl and some other rides. They don’t have a coaster but the Livonia spree has I think a super cyclone

Skip the Maine potatoes and go instead to the potato/ bbq place on the left side of the Connecticut building. The baked potatoes there are superb! They use real bacon and each potato is nearly the size of a newborn.
If you're trying to pair with SFNE or Lake Compounce, neither will be open on weekdays at the time of year the fair is running. You could even visit Quassy while you're in the area as it's not far.
Truly, DO NOT GO ON A WEEKEND! unless there is a specific musical act you are seeing, weekends at the Big E are absolutely miserable. Get there at opening, do the buildings first as they get PACKED. Then spend your day outside or in the colosseum.
