THE SECOND AND LAST JOHN PEEL BBC SESSION BY BOB MARLEY AND THE WAILERS.
This was recorded on November 26, 1973, almost seven months after their first Peel session. Kinky Reggae was first heard on the Wailers' breakthrough album, Catch A Fire. Get Up Stand Up, later to become an anthem sung at righteous gatherings all over the world, was the opening song on the Wailers' second Island album, Burnin'. Can't Blame the Youth was originally a Peter Tosh & The Wailers single on Peter's own Intel Diplo label in late 1972. Bob didn't appear on this song, but Bunny Wailer sang harmony behind Peter.
As mentioned in my previous post of the first Wailers' Peel session, Bunny returned to Jamaica soon after and quit the band. So the Peel session you're hearing now was only Bob and Peter, joined by Earl Lindo keyboards, Aston Barrett bass and Carlton Barrett drums.

@@davidtunnicliff5442 i saw Bob marley and the wailers played at the Palace Park june7th in London with my brother phill and his mate Ian very good gig and a great day out. The lineup was bob marley and the wailers. The average white band Joe Jackson band and the q tips with Paul Young. The tickets were £7.50 each on the door. Me and my brother phill and his mate Ian were on the left side of the stage where a poud in front of the stage. I remember concorde coming over Palace Park when bob marley and the wailers were playing. Nice one one love
