How many people play games from before that? I grew up in the 80s and a couple of my favorite games were Dungeon Master and Sundog. Sundog was a space game with a few side things you could do. One of the first sandbox game but with very simple graphics. I doubt anyone from today would go back and try to play it. Thats the thing about games, its not like shows or movies. Its a pretty big investment to play old games. Another favorite is Mafia which came out around 2000 and only works on Win 98. Lots of good games from win 98 days. The remake was not nearly as good.
@@tomm1109 Mafia was playable beyond Win98. I have played it initially on an XP machine. Even today, with just a few fixes, it runs on Win10. They don't have to go super old and include now-obscure games for the PC gamer cred but in the same breath, it's disingenuous to call their list best RPG of all time and just include games from the last decade. It's a total disservice to the games that actually shaped the genre to what it is now. There are still old but playable games that still continue to resonate with players.

After becoming very disappointed playing Starfield , started playing the Mass effects legendary edition and then could really appreciate how good of a game Mass effects 3 is.The series is truly legendary.

Idk, Give it a try, the first game is just meh, but like I said the second installment is peak RPG. The third one is also great but they kinda failed the landing. Yes they are. There were a lot of solid RPGs from that era - Vagrant Story, Final Fantasy Tactics, the Lunar series, Breath of Fire 2 and 3, The Legend of Dragoon, Suikoden 1 and 2, the Front Mission series, Valkyrie Profile and the SaGa games to name a few.

I really liked Kingdoms of Amalur. It’s just a fun game. There are way too many to list a lot of them. I missed a lot growing up because either I didn’t know what they were or I could only get one game on a holiday or something.
This is suppose to be of all time yet it doesn’t include any older titles. Where’s FFVI or VII, or Chrono Trigger. And half these games aren’t even RPGs. I don’t think I’ll be subscribing, but I will be adding the channel to my “do not recommend me this channel” list.

For me number one is Elder Scrolls 3 Morrowind and then Elder Scrolls 4 Oblivion then probably Fallout New Vegas and Dragon Age Origins. If put Kingdoms of Amalur there too somewhere. But those others would be top 4.
I feel like Monster Hunter World is better than Rose. Also Mass Effect 2 was better story and choice than 3. You can't just pick the newest version of a game and say it's better than the previous games in the series because it's graphics or what not are better. And to say final fantasy 16 is the best in the series... that's just poor rushed fishing for a spot on the list. Don't even get me started on Starfield 😂

ff 7 remake integrade(never even liked ff series,but this is the last of all i tried due to all i was told and i really loved it against all i had tried before) Cyberpunk2077 well over 1000 Hours into base game and many,many more in Phantom Liberty DLC that made a good game great.. After becoming very disappointed playing Starfield , started playing the Mass effects legendary edition and then could really appreciate how good of a game Mass effects 3 is.The series is truly legendary.

@tomm1109 Well, ME2 is considered one of the greatest RPGs ever. The thing is we'll get attached to our squad mates and even after beating the game, they all stay with us. Idk, Give it a try, the first game is just meh, but like I said the second installment is peak RPG. The third one is also great but they kinda failed the landing. But it's definitely worth checking out.

Yes they are. There were a lot of solid RPGs from that era - Vagrant Story, Final Fantasy Tactics, the Lunar series, Breath of Fire 2 and 3, The Legend of Dragoon, Suikoden 1 and 2, the Front Mission series, Valkyrie Profile and the SaGa games to name a few.

I really liked Kingdoms of Amalur. It’s just a fun game. There are way too many to list a lot of them. I missed a lot growing up because either I didn’t know what they were or I could only get one game on a holiday or something.
I also liked KOA... I built a bad ass character that I chewed threw the game with!!!

This is suppose to be of all time yet it doesn’t include any older titles. Where’s FFVI or VII, or Chrono Trigger. And half these games aren’t even RPGs. I don’t think I’ll be subscribing, but I will be adding the channel to my “do not recommend me this channel” list.

Any 'Best RPGs of All Time' list without Baldur's Gate 2, Fallout, or any of the first seven Ultimas is an automatic fail. I mean, what's Starfield dong here lol?
For me number one is Elder Scrolls 3 Morrowind and then Elder Scrolls 4 Oblivion then probably Fallout New Vegas and Dragon Age Origins. If put Kingdoms of Amalur there too somewhere. But those others would be top 4.

I feel like Monster Hunter World is better than Rose. Also Mass Effect 2 was better story and choice than 3. You can't just pick the newest version of a game and say it's better than the previous games in the series because it's graphics or what not are better. And to say final fantasy 16 is the best in the series... that's just poor rushed fishing for a spot on the list. Don't even get me started on Starfield 😂
No disrespect but this is the worst list I think ive ever seen for best Rpgs. This is supposed to be a list of the best rpgs of ( ALL TIME ) what a joke. Many of the games you put on the list at best are action games, at the very best weak rpgs. You missed a really good opportunity here, and you have certainly missed many games that certainly should be on this list.

1. Star wars knights of the old republic 1 and 2
2. Dragon age origins
3. Mass effect as a whole series minus andromeda
4. Witcher 3
5. Baldurs gate 3
6. Divinity original sin 2
7. Wasteland 3
8. All of fromsofts games.. but if i had to choose one it would be bloodborne. Yes, bloodborne IS better than elden ring. Dont at me on that you are wrong. Needless to say though that all their games deserve to be here.
9. Persona 5 Royal
10. Final fantasy 7
11. Fire emblem 3 houses
12. Chrono trigger? Or xenoblade? Deffinately able to be argued
13. Any of your pick of favorite mmos, but i think runescape or wow probably deserve that slot with my personal choice being runescape.
14. Any of the zelda titles, although for me its ocarana of time
15. Bethesda games, morrowind, oblivion, and skyrim (some of the old fallouts and fallout new vegas as well)
16. Pokemon series (almost all of them minus a few)

Cyberpunk2077 well over 1000 Hours into base game and many,many more in Phantom Liberty DLC that made a good game great..
Witcher 3 is 1 of the best games i ever played if not the best(when i put 2 dlcs w base game its the best game ever)
Ni No Kuni 2 is another great game i love n played that i didnt think i would like much,But oboy was i wrong....
