If it's Dynasty Warriors 10, then it should have new characters like Sima Yan, Lu Kang and Sun Hao.
I'm intrigued I'm really hoping for orochi as a playable character. Probably not gonna happen but he'll look so good in these graphics with his red and black attacks idc I'll pay my soul for him as a DLC
Also a Vs mode where your friend or whatever can pick up the other controller and you both can Vs each other as all the characters or the character you created

Been a super fan of the series since dw2 and my heart was shattered after the disaster that was dw9. But this has given me some hope that my favorite franchise is making a comeback
I'm excited at the moment. I'm hoping we can make our character. From what we have been told it sounds like a really great game. I'm glad they put Lu Bu in the trailer, it wouldn't be Dynasty Warriors without him there.

Excellent, DW4 was one of the best dw ever? Its impact was huge for me
I'm definitely cautiously optimistic for this game. As a DW fan, I hope they can still evolve the game in a meaningful way while keeping the familiarity of the series. My biggest hope is that we do still get to play some of the iconic characters. I would be a little disappointed but if they make the gameplay fresh and fun as a tradeoff then I'm fine with that. Although we'll just have to wait and see for more info.
My inner Fan since DW2 is again immediatly hyped like with every new entry.
But... Yeah i stopped my self from playing dw9 and i dont regret it. The series needs to reach a new Level and actual growth. I wish for a DW that looks like it actual belongs on a current gen platform. I wish for a DW where my troops are useful for a change and an actual gameplay Element.
I wish for a DW that Shows me the love and Passion for the characters and their Story again.
I wish for a DW that respects my time, money and trust in giving me more than just the bare minimum in terms of customization.
Well i wont rise my Bar or expectations too high but i just feel that the next DW has to fill out these huge gaps in quality some or another in order have a future.
After they made the latest "good" game Samurai Warriors 5 (has little to some flaws but not as fraudful as DW9), hope they do the best for this new DW entry
IF this is instead of Dynasty Warriors 10, I can’t express my disappointment enough. The roster of characters is what makes this series what it is for me & not being able to play as them would totally ruin it for me. A game where I can’t play as Jia Chong or Zhuge Liang doesn’t bare thinking about :( DW9 was bad and I was holding out all hope DW10 would come along and make us all fans again… (Also the DW9 new characters deserve a good game!)
This looks like it could be AMAZING, and the next step in the series' evolution.

I have a feeling this might be the same approach like how did they with SW5. They probably going to cut a few characters out, clone weapons again. But that’s just my opinion. I do wish it was DW10. Maybe after DW10, I think it would be best to reboot the franchise though.
I'm cautiously optimistic. The voice acting in the trailer worried me, even if it's just to narrate the trailer. And after Dynasty Warriors 9, they need to show me more then what this trailer did to get me excited. And I've been playing this series since the PS2 days, so I'm absolutely a huge fan of the Warriors franchise in general.

@@MrShahrozzz Yea, especially Lex Lang as Zhuge Liang. Honestly, I'd almost prefer they just give us Japanese only voices if they're going to do a sub par job with voice work.
If you play as the “ nameless warrior” but also allowed to switch to our favorite hero’s , kinda like rise of the ronin , that would be awesome! , I feel like KT has grown , they know what we what , we want our classic hero’s we can play and a us hero we can play , simultaneously switch between the two or even 3 or more , let’s be patient and see what’s to be revealed ! HYPE!!!
I'm excited, after Wo Long I was hoping they'd take that character concept apply it to DW which it sounds like they have.
I haven't played the series properly since Strikeforce, after 5XL I was feeling the burn. I think I got 8XL on Vita, but I didn't get to play it much.
I have no faith in this game at all, I’m a long time warriors player and like many hated 9, that bs reason of realism for why everyone was using the same weapons creating an entire cast of clones annoyed me to no end, you can make 80 odd unique weapons for 8 but couldn’t think of like 7 or so more for 9?
9 felt like proof to me that KOEI was putting more effort behind the third party warriors games like Zelda and Fire Emblem over their OG warriors games. Then they made the terrible decision to not use the open world for the DW9 Empires game, the one thing DW9 had to offer an empires game.
Then came SW5, it was like let’s give this game a gorgeous coat of paint but cut the roster and the story down and make them all clones again.
Which does make me wonder if Orochi and Empires games are now gone for good?
To top all that off, the person who is producing this game is the guy who was the director for DW6 and DW Next, no faith at all in this game.
P.S, Also there are still famous people who never got a chance at being playable, to avoid an exhaustive list I’ll name just one Hao Zhao, the man who outsmarted Zhuge Liang during one of his Northern campaigns. Instead I expect we are getting a cut roster again, and the 2 things I hate seeing in this series is cut rosters and clones.
Also one comment I see that due to the number of unique characters many were being under utilised, and to a point that is correct but the thing people that say that don’t realise, it’s also a unique enemy to fight on the battlefields. Playing as a Jin character when you have to fight against Wu was so boring as there were so few unique characters on the Wu side.
Could this be the final nail in the coffin of DW?
ok i have no idea who might say this or agree tbh but coming from OG DW2-5... since DW6 and continuing up i actually stop liking how they make dynasty warriors because from 6 and up, the main thing i desperately don't like and never will is when you attack, you have this wind type s** that just straight up mess the entire combat of dynasty warriors smh and if someone don't know what i mean.. watch a gameplay of DW2-5. there is no wind in every attack you do. its clean perfect and just how dynasty warriors combat style should be. i def like new features added to the series 100% but what i want from koei is frist to keep the combat style similar to the OGs, a updated newer fire outfits that still look similar to the OGs like DW3 like DW7 did and last omg the biggest... keep the OG characters voice back to normal please smh those new wack a** voices are just not it im sorry. also last the biggest disappointment Dw6 ever made was giving Sun Ce & Zhang He a spear ?! smh but one biggest thing i give dw6 credit is they really made Lu Bu much more tuff scary and deadlier with a crazy boss like killer weapon. koei damn sure should've kept lu bu that weapon
Gotta be optimistic. In today's climate, fra Chinese die even if they perform well. I hope they put out a product that satisfies fans and shareholders enough to keep the series afloat.
I do not know what to think of the nameless hero yet, but I do believe there is a lot of potential being able to play through the story potentially making different choices that send you to different battles on different sides each time ypy play a campeign. That said, I am still someone who wants yhe return of character campaigns more than anything.
If it were my choice, there would be a solo created character campaign, character campaigns and kingdom campaigns haha.

Its the only game I found interesting, I was expecting for Rise of the Ronin for PC however.
Also Wo Long was similar to the concept you mentioned.
Also having a different story and a different character depending on the Kingdom would be awesome, specially if by the end you need to fight your previous characters and armies giving different endings depending on your character's kingdom.
I've played spin-offs but not an actual Dynasty Warriors since the PS2 era lol. I'll keep an eye out on this 1

I’m a little inexperienced with the main series as I played/playing its sisters/Warrior likes (Fire Emblem Warriors/Three Hopes, Fate/Samurai Remnant and soon Samurai Warriors 4 DX)
But all I can say from a new perspective as this looks really really good. Funny enough the moment I beat Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty which is a Souslike like Nioh and Ronin, but set in the same era of the Three Kingdoms a day ago.
Koei Tecmo decided to drop this haha. I’m curious to see more of this so hopefully that any hopes or concerns regarding this entry can be addressed
I'm hoping that the create-a-character only is for a really good campaign and then in free mode, and other modes, you can use whatever general they have put in the game. Half the fun for me has always been able to play with the characters I grew up with since Romance of the Three Kingdoms 1 for the NES in the 80's, so if they took that aspect away it would be a bummer.
They need to remaster the old series they would make so much money and bring back the body guard system along with customization... they are tearing this got damn series apart with this bullshit. Its pissing me off... they fell off after DW 5... At least the enemies actually fought the fuck back and didnt stand around like sheep... this is gettin ridiculous
I'm not mad at you for saying this honestly. You kind of share my same sentiments. The series definitely fell off a big cliff after DW5. I truly miss bodyguards and when the series felt heavy. While I am hoping and looking forward to this, I hope it's good man
It looks good but I really need them to do good on this one the perfect game would be have it be a story we make in this world that way there's replay ability and for original characters let there be a side mode that gives original character lore and cut scenes, it doesn't have to be a grand as the custom character just something that's unique enough for player to want to play them. For combat it looks good but I would love some strategy and not just stratagems but something like 9 empires with a mix of preparation before battles like alliance resource hiring vagabond units to aid. Making deals with other kingdoms or smaller forces that are meaningful. Let the battle field not be so straight forward.

Warriors Orochi 4 and One Piece Pirate Warriors 4 are my favorites if they can top those games we definitely got something.

I have been a Dynasty Warriors fun since DW2 i love this franchise to death. Like you i was disappointed with DW9, i tried so hard to luke and enjoy that game but it was not good imo. I spent more time running around and fast traveling to each part of the battle than fighting. Combat was ok. In regards to dynasty warriors origins I met, I was a bit disappointed that it wasn't Dynasty warriors. 10. However, I'm always willing to give this a chance as it could be good as long as they go back to the old formula of stages and old style of combat. With some new things mixed in of course is always fine. I just hope we can play as other characters as well as I've never been the biggest CAW fan in these games it's fine as a side mode, but I want to play it as the pre-established characters. I'm not all that bothered about creating my own. I just really hope its good and a step in the right direction for Dynasty warriors. Then we can finally get Dynasty warriors 10 and Samurai warriors 6 so
I honestly feel alot like you fam, but at least we finally have something and we know DW is not completely dead. I will be covering this game very very closely! Let's see what happens!

I dunno if anyone agrees but my favorite Dynasty Warriors has to be the MMO. So, this seems like a step in the right direction, I love the idea of a custom character, and tbh I think it's much too early to speculate that we won't have access to the other Generals, as at this point it's simply going to be a skin swap, the weapons are already animated. And I hope it's multiplayer.

I totally agree too fam. I think they took this approach to further gauge the interest and see if they can add freshness to the formula. Either way, as long as it's better than 9, I'm down haha.

I'm surprised the Dynasty Warriors title appeared on State of Play I'll also be surprised if this DW Orgains is the main instalment of DW10. Origins may focus on the Han Dynasty a bit more
Looking like a Shadow of War gameplay when attacking a fort/stronghold with cinematic for the charge to the gates. Then gameplay fighting in castle.
Whiles the archer volly gameplay part is Defending the fort/stronghold

They might have a free mode where you play with the og characters and the musou mode might be the nameless hero story mode. I can see that happening
I only hope this dudes make destiny mode the game with different paths you can take based on your decisions in the battlefield so that we can replay the shit out of it. the only sad part is that we can't have 8 bodyguards like in the old games bro...

I agree with DW9, I played the demo and didn't like it.
I believe its the only DW(or any "warrior") game I never bought.
Pretty excited to finally see something Dynasty Warriors related again! When I read "Origins" I thought it was a collection of old games at first, haha - kinda would have loved that... I guess that you will be able to create a character and probably have the choice to join different armies with many different playthroughs and maybe depending on what army you join you will be able to learn different kind of movesets (to make every playthrough different). I can kind of see a mix of SW Sanada and those newer games Wo Long etc (which I never played) - probably a bit more cinematic, emphasize on Boss battles. I do would like an original story though where you create your own army and unite the country and maybe even get to pick what officer join you (Empires style, but more cinematic) - let's see what they come up with!
...Having a collection like that would have been pretty dope and convenient.

Wow I never knew you were a dynasty warriors fan Kali Q thats hype! Personally I am very excited for this game hopefully the combat is very expansive and not repetitive unlike the older titles. I am going to miss the massive roster filled with memorable characters but I am alright with this change as long as the combat is crazy, the music is crazy (as usual), and DW10 will still be on the way.
As much as I'm excited for this game honestly it's about time to move on from the Romance of the Three Kingdoms and start a brand new series in the Dynasty Warriors franchise
I think they should use the Warring States Period of Ancient China (475 BCE-221 BCE) and maybe the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms era (907 CE-969 CE) as future Dynasty Warriors games

I’m excited for a new dynasty warriors game the Characters got ridiculous with some characters being fictional. But like you said we are still gonna want a dynasty warriors 10.
I just opened the video because of the thumbnail just to say that I don't think this is DW 10 either. This looks more like Wo Long (or Nioh 2 if you haven't played Wo Long) mixed with a DW combat, which to be honest doesn't look bad at all, actually I'm intrested in it, but still it isn't DW 10.
I think it will have the online co-op, but not the local multiplayer.
The only things that I'm going to dislike if the game features it (and I'm 100% sure those things are going to be in the final game) are the leveling system and the loot system that will make it feel like too much like an action rpg instead of a beat em up. I mean, if the game is going to be a wo long with a musou combat (like it looks) the leveling system is going to kill the replaybility while being completely useless (just like other modern games I mean). The loot system is likely going to have stuff like crafting, gems to enhance the weapons, a rarity system etc. To be clear, oc this game need some kind of look system, else the character customization wouldn't make sense, but I think it should be very simple, like choose between sword and spear and go to kill enemies, but if I must bet, I'd say they're gonna make it like an action rpg
If they removed the ability to play as the named officers, that would be a major deviation from what made DW fun. Now if this "Nameless Hero" is a custom player character, that would be great. I've been wanting custom characters to come back since DW 4. I missed 5, 7, and 8. While I like that Empires has custom characters, its gameplay progression gets repetitive very quickly and becomes a grind to reach the end goal.
As a fan of dw since dw1 I will for sure be picking this up, whether its good, bad, trash or whatever, I just love the dynasty warriors franchise, I had fun with dynasty warriors 9 even though it was a flop, its a dynasty warriors game, I'm gnna play it. Period! And always remember "don't presue lu bu" 😅
This is similar with my Dynasty warriors concept idea, you will play as CAW original character, and there are 2 different map, one for epic historical battle and other map is open world map like in assassin creed or witcher, the CAW character will have unique original story. Finally Omega Force listen to my request and suggestion. This will be the new era of Warrior series, RPG-Hack and slash genre
I hope we can use the usual unique officers, but I especially hope they bring back unique officer weapons and move sets
I also excited to see how DWO turns out but I'm gonna be real I'm more interested in how the gameplay will turn out. On the surface it's looking more like how DW9 combat flows which is a concern I'm hoping you squash later if we get anymore information down the road. Overall the game does look pretty good and I am excited to play from a nameless perspective through the 3 kingdoms personally

I hope the graphics look outdated cos they're focusing more on the sheer scale of it and not just saying it as a cover up, cos the graphics are not really current gen worthy.
I really wish we got the old style DW story mode where we chose our favourite characters and did THEIR story, it was so much more interesting and allowed me to play the game longer.
I also really hope the game is harder, DW games in the recent instalments have been beyond too easy. Bring back some DW2/DW3 difficulty where you actively had to try.
This was one of the few games from the State of Play that actually caught my interest 😅 curious to see more 👍
I think this more like a spin off title and also like KOEI is testing out some new stuff and how it might be received by fans.
I still hope that we also get a potentail mainline "Dynasty Warriors 10 or I would even call it Dynasty Warriors X", wich should be massive "best of" title mixed with some new stuff aswell.
Regarding DW Origins, I don´t think this might any character creation at all at least I don´t need it and I´m more in for a set pre-defined and original hero like the one in the trailer. Character creation would make the hero even more shallow and generic and that´s why I don´t like it if it´s really a story focused game from the perspective of this young man.
I´m also curious wich faction or kingdom he belongs to and if he really is just a nameless hero or KOEI just want to hide from us this time. ^^
Since the trailer is heavy "yellow turban rebellion" focused and certain scenes we can see, I came up with the unique idea that our young hero might belong to the old Han empire and our story begins in the last years with the events that lead the outbreak of the yellow turban rebellion or even before it. In the trailer it almost looks like that the army and foothold of our hero is assaulted by the yellow turbans and we are trying to hold them off. So the story could be a mix of the actual even and a bit of what if as our hero is trying to defend of what is left of the old Han empire or we just witness what happened to them after all this events. :-)
Dynasty warrior 4 was my favorite, but for the longest I've just been wanting a remake of that with some MMO capability. It would be cool to choose a map and just have actual players playing as the generals online to see who would win.
Ill always pronounce it "Die-nasty-warriors" lol. Did you notice they emphasized that the entire two armies will exist over the entire battle the entire time? I wonder what this implies? Online mode? Im telling you man if done right a die-nasty-warriors resurgence could topple everything. It all depends on how hard Lu Bu is
Honestly? Im pretty excited. Even DW9 I enjoyed despite its flaws in just glad they dont stagnate and rehash the same shit over and over again they already do with the story with fun tweeks and new viewpoints and such.

I’m excited that we are getting something new. I want to see if they are gonna pull a rise of the ronin style with dynasty warriors style fantasy combat. Which I’m all for. If they don’t let us play them individually I’m ok with that but give a comrade and bodyguard system. Hopefully they let you learn their styles and use their weapons. It also would be cool if depending on the relationships you build with the characters you could have big what if scenarios and multiple endings based on who you were friends and what choices you made in combat
And I can see them adding DLC for character move sets to make people pay for them. I don’t like that part.
Dw4/5 was good at making the fights situational where they have their large scale battles and one on one fights with legendary officers and I hope it’s the same in this one..

I prefer samurai warriors but i enjoy both mosu games i just hope this has the hyper movment from samurai warriors. And it would be dope too if we can still carry 2 different weapons.

My forever "best moments" in DW series is in DW4 when my created officer gets into the cinematic when he defeats Hua Xiong, or when he challenges Lu Bu, or when he saves Liu Bei's son. I hope this entry will satisfy that thirst that no empires series could ever do. Also, I'm one of those who isn't against the idea of open world DW, as long as they do it properly, imagine shadow of mordor or Assassin's Creed.
Willing to try as a big fan and see where it goes. I really loved 3 and 4 because it didnt seem like you were overpowered but at the same time depending on how you reacted with your allies in a different situation on the battlefield it its like you made a difference. Also enemy soldiers were not having it if you wanted to go out too deep alone omg lol
Anyone else more excited by Tears of Metal? Dont like roguelikes but it seems to have that grounded combat

I think it's a good direction to go in, but I do hope you'll be able to coop with someone else's original character and play the story together.
I'm cautiously awaiting this game after what they delivered in DW9. I like the thought of them approaching the story differently in hoping to be able to alter things similar to hypotheticals but because of your choices, but if we don't ever get to use the characters we know and love I will be disappointed. I want to use my boys Sima Yi and Zhang Liao!

@kali-qgames1301 That's the best part of dynasty warriors, having a selection of characters that people can gravitate toward for any reason. Shu has some beasts for sure, I'm Wei all day but each of the 3 have great options!

Can't wait to hear a new remix to Lu Bu's theme 🔥
Honestly I'm a bit disappointed, I want to play with my Wu team more than some nameless general dressed in almost all black. If I get to make the character and choose which colors I want to wear that might be okay but it just won't feel like Dynasty Warriors to me if I cannot play Wu... Da Qiao, Sun Ce, Zhou Yu, Lu Xun, Sun Shang Xiang, Sun Jian, Xiao Qiao, Zhou Tai, Gan Ning, Ling Tong, Zhu Ran, Taishi Ci, Lianshi, and the others of Wu. Then I'm sorry it's not that exciting for me, as much as I like playing my created characters if my favorites of Wu are missing hoe can I call it Dynasty Warriors and not be disappointed. I already feel like they already down play Wu often, but they have been what always makes me pick up the game at the end of the day. Because Wu is fun and like family, the rest of the game feels dead without Wu, they joke, they laugh, they talk, they are not perfect but they look after each other, and I always felt that it was that way from Dynasty warriors 3 and on. Dynasty Warriors 2 was always good but since it was an earlier game the character interactions was different, I didn't play Dynasty warriors 2 as much as DW 3, 4, and 5. After DW5 everything changed it just wasn't the great Dynasty warriors game I loved, I still like the games but I only play to see Wu, I might try to play the other groups but I get bored easily with them. There are character in the other teams I like in the game but, they alone don't pull me to the game like when I play the characters of Wu. Sun Ce is fun and caring, but he's also a warriors. Zhou is smart and looks after Sun Ce his best friend but Zhou Yu a strategic planner is also a warrior. Sun Jian a strong father and great leader, is also a warrior, but he cares for his family. There is more I can say about all of the characters but then this thing would go on for miles. As if it doesn't do so already....
To add since they have kind of stopped the musou mode story after and started to focus on the main stories history barely touching on the characters, I ended up playing Empires more than the main games after Dynasty warriors 5. Most times playing only Wu characters and my created characters and usually always joining Wu or recruiting Wu main characters (Da Qiao, Sun Ce, Lu Xun, Zhou Yu and the other before others if I can. If I cannot join Wu I remake Wu again. Sadly that happened one time another team defeated Wu before I could join them, so I started a team for Wu all Wu mains welcomed first and then whomever of the other teams that I like. But it's not normal for Wu to be defeated early game. So I usually find Wu characters to join me then join Wu if I don't start in Wu.
its like Wo Long feel to it, like its gonna be that combat but scales to how Dynasty warriors is

this looks like a story/role playing take on the game.. i assume at some points you get options where you want to take your characters story, if you want to go with liu bei, cao cao or sun jian after defeating the yellow turban. maybe during story beats where fights happends on both fronts, you get the option to choose which front you go to.. and through your choices, and how well you do with bonus objectives etc.. you get different outcomes.
But tbh, i dont mind whatever they decide to do story wise with the game.. all i care about is the upgrade system and the army mass.. for some reason, i feel Bladestorm has done war the best of all omega force games.. and that was PS2.. all DW and SW has kinda been awkward lets send 5 and 5 men at you that you can kill with 1 sweep attack every 10 seconds.
I like dw5 Empires where you cam choose to Attack of defend and use Tactics or heck have a Enemy Officer Defect

@@Zolfried In one of my Playthroughs of dw5 empires i actually Took over Liu Zhang with Liu Bei Immediately post Chi Bi and even had all his Officers in my Ranks. I think Histroic Liu bei shouldnt have Killed Zhang Ren and instead dismissed and later Hired Him as a Shu Officer and He shouldve Established Shu as a Kingdom Way Earlier. Shu wouldve been much stronger
