Growing up in the 70s, I remember mixing flour and water for paper mache paste. Glued newspapers to balloons and added eggs carton pieces, string etc. to make different animals. Such creative fun. Thanks for taking me down memory lane with your story.
Ceri, I know I’m not the only one who is so glad you survived and thrived past 5 years.
What a full life with more to come!
Thank you
I would have loved to have you as a friend. I adored crafting and creating and I can’t think of a time I haven’t adored it. 😄
Love listening to ALL of your adventures, & struggles Ceri. You are so humble, & honest. That is so hard to find. Good on you for being able to art full-time now. You are my hero. xo
Thank you so much
Ceri: I think to say congrats on your life is quite appropriate here. You’ve done a lot and continue to grow. Wonderful! Carol from California
Thank you so much Carol
I wish you all the happiness and success! You are such an inspiring person....and I really enjoy seeing you doing your art.😊
Thank you so much
Thank you. You are a great crafter and gentleman.
Ceri, you’re so kind to all your viewers. You make us feel so connected to you. You wouldn’t have to share so much of yourself but I certainly enjoy you. It’s like having a kindred crafty spirit. 😊
Thank you so much Bridget
I so agree. You feel like such a safe space. Thank you.
I`ve always said, "If you don`t win a prize, it doesn`t mean that you`re not good, however, if you are honoured with a prize, you can rest assured that you`re good in that certain area!".
It`s a pity you don`t have many children, but if you did, you most probably wouldn`t have had the opportunity to live such a creative life in develop so many different things.
Thank you, Ceri :)
Being single most of my life has meant I could take opportunities offered to me without having to consider others.

Yes, creative and artistic people need much space and freedom to spread their wings. We are a different kind of species. LOL...
As I listen to your thoughtful commentary, the watercolors come out and I paint (they are not often put away, truth be told). I am so glad you started this segment of your channel. I wish more channels did this. You have created a wonderful, invisible, human and artistic bond with your viewers. I dont know how much better it could get than that.
Many thanks for sharing as you do. I think we are getting the better deal in this. 😊
Thank you so much
I remember a time in elementary school when I needed glue for a project and my mother mixed up flour and water for me. I think we’re pretty close in age, we agree on so much.
Omg I love lighthouses
I’ve been to so many many of them here in the us and Canada 11:52
Thanks Ceri love your honest answers. I too love nature and would be happy in a country environment. I wish I had the courage to up sticks and move, but at 80 I don't think I could cope with the stress.
I agree that any creative ideas can be transferred to all mediums. I enjoy painting embroidery journaling, sewing, and other crafts, I'm always open to trying something new. Love Chris
Thank you for sharing. I'm glad you found your happy place. I had to laugh when you said squirrel here in USA we say Rabbithole. 😅
I guess it depends where in the U.S. I've always heard squirrel, too
But I love Rabbit hole too! I usually say I've gone down the rabbithole when I've gotten sidetracked!
I am amazed at all the things you have done during your lifetime. You have had so many different avenues in which to share your creativity. So glad you have shared so many of your adventures.
Thanks Ceri 🙏
Great Q&A session Ceri. Congratulations on going full time with your creativity! I think you're going to be surprised how well it does and I, fir one, can't wait to see what you create or show us next. So happy for you 😊.
You’ve lived a very interesting life. Thank you for sharing with your viewers!

Oh you are so great to listen to. For how sick you were as a child you sure have made up for it as an adult.. I am so happy for you to be able to just craft for a living now. Congratulations. Can't wait to see what you do with the videos. ❤❤

Happy new month! I loved listening to your lifetime of adventures and creativity! It is inspiring, for myself, to know that if one door closes another will open as long as you have a positive outlook. Creative beings can always find that brightness or light in most things, it is what keeps us going. Thank you for sharing! Have a wonderful week! 🙂
Thank you! You too
You are a very humble person with such a wonderful loving personality! I enjoy learning about your past and all the different things you've done. You are such an inspiration and I'm very grateful that you are willing to share your talents with the RUclips world! Thank you, Ceri! ❤
You are so welcome
What a wonderful Q & A xxx Love You Dear Friend xxxx
As always very interesting!
I love watching you. I am an amateur crafter. You inspire me to try new things. My goodness that envelope scrap book you made was so inspiring. To watch you struggle and in the end produce a masterpiece made me feel proud of the end product. I love all of your videos. Thank you, Jackie
Thank you Jackie.
Ceri, thank you for answering such personal questions, I know that it is difficult, enjoy your day.
I have been watching you now on RUclips for several days, and I have honestly learned so much! Your video about not labeling ones self spoke very clearly to me. I love to learn, create, invent, discover and produce. Colors rock my world, and only love comes before art in my soul. Thank you, truly, for just speaking to the parts of me that you have. I am recently widowed and only my children ( who are far away) and art have helped me travel this road. Your tips and hints are so open spirited and generous, it's a lovely thing. Blessed Be Ceri❤
Thank you and I hope the road ahead is paved with joy.
Thank you for share with us some of you Ceri❤
I came across your channel this weekend and have binged watched you ever since. You are incredible and a seem genuine. Thank you for sharing with us!!!
You are so welcome
I am so glad you survived your childhood illnesses. Thank you for sharing your life experiences ❤
I've recently just started watching you and I kept thinking you are familiar to me. I believe I've seen you on food network..no? ❤Baking was my escape from a difficult situation so I stayed glued to baking shows and contests. Years later, now I am retired and completely immersed in all kinds of art from water color to bookbinding. Somehow I found your channel and love your creative flow!! Thank you for being you and sharing with us all!
I did work with Kerry Vincent from the Food Network USA, I also did a TV documentary about the Oklahoma State Sugar Art Show, so it’s possible you’ve seen me.
@CeriGriffiths oh wonderful! I'm so glad to know more about you and your arts. You're a wonderful teacher!
This has been fun. Loved this video. Thanks for sharing 😊 ❤❤
Thanks for sharing!
Love the stories. You have had a very unique life that I hope conquest for a long time. Thanks.❤❤❤
It’s so interesting to listen to your answers to questions. What a busy but very interesting life you have lived. I’m pleased to hear you are now spending your time doing what you enjoy! ❤😊
Thank you so much
OMG, you won a Blue Peter Badge!!! Thats amazing, I too was a Blue Peter baby and grew up making things with toilet rolls, shoe boxes and rubbish glue. 😊 We couldn't afford things like stickyback plastic, but my mum never threw a part used roll of wallpaper away and always saved a jar of wallpaper paste...just in case...so they were my first patterned papers. Thankyou for the memory jog. 😁🤗❤❤xx
I loved Blue Peter.
Love knowing you better through the Q and A. Kind of makes me reflect on my own life (not nearly as exciting as yours). I’ve started writing down things I remember. Some funny incidents and some were just plain life. As always, thanks for sharing. Now I’m off to get started on my “zine”.
I love the water tower or lighthouse home idea. I wouldn't mind turning a silo into a home. So many good options.
That's a great idea
Hooray
Fun to listen to
I remember when my mom got here Look, McCall magazine came in I couldn’t wIt to cut them up and make a book with them. 16:01
Hi Ceri. I live in Tulsa and you mentioned the Tulsa State Fair Sugar Show. How wonderful for you ! They don't do that any longer and I really miss it. My mom was a fantastic quilter and won ribbons there also. I grew up as a sewer and general crafter. I now do several paper projects, I am not a designer or creator but I can follow a pattern! I do well at altered Little Golden Books so spend most of my time doing that. I am trying to create a RUclips channel and your tips on that has been helpful. Now I am trying to figure out how to film myself and watch at the same time. I am a slow learner. As you did, I quit outside work to focus on my creative process. A big step but I feel at 71, I earned it. I have a she shed outside and a crowded crafting room inside where I do my main work. Never enough space is there? Take care. Love your posts.
Thank you Vicki and good luck with your venture, if I’ve learnt anything about making videos over the years it’s that all anyone really wants to see is, good lighting, natural if you can, good sound, a clear look at the detail if what your making and not to much gossiping.
So fun
I really enjoyed your video.
Thanks for share your experiences with us ❤
My pleasure 😊
I am so so glad I’m not the only one who speaks jibberish! Lol
If I had to narrow it down, it would be my colored inks, blending brushes, colored pencils, and stamp collection. That would stop me from going nuts. As long as I'm doing what I love and have enough to pay the bills (plus buy a few extras occasionally), I'm good. I would like to renovate (and live in) a one-room school house. Thanks, Mr. Ceri.
Great idea
Goodness what great memories you have. Ever consider writing your bio? Thank you for sharing. I watch a bunch of youtubers (mudlarks, narrow boaters, crafters) from the UK and find I like the Q&A's they do because they become more natural and someone I can relate to. P.S. you were born the year I graduated from high school! You could be my other son. Hugs from the US.
Thank you mom.
I'll see you at the Oregon coast, Ceri. 😊 We have the forest, sea, rivers, nature, "bad weather" if that means rain and cloudy days, and of course I can show you around and share the hidden "gems" and jj goodie shops. Also, King Tides are coming doon and are always fun!! I'm enjoying your q and a series. Thanks for sharing! 😊
Sounds great.
My question was #11. Whoop whoop.
Happy to hear you quit that job and do what you love.
People are always telling me I need to work in a creative field. Im worried that something I used to love turns into a just a paycheck and begin to hate it.
I used to love to take pictures and got pulled into making dvds of training classes and it kind of ruined photography for me. Thats been about 8 years ago. I just recently dusted my camera off and started using it again.
Revisiting old passions can be so rejuvenating
The button story… so funny!
Yup only can draw attention with a jar of buttons. 😁
You are such a sweet humble man. Wish you were my neighbor. But don’t let this go to your head😉
😁
I would love to see pictures or videos of you dancing.🤗💖🦋
I’m trying to collect some from friends I worked with.
Glad to hear you quit that job and you can do your art work more, thanks for sharing☺
Thanks 👍
💜💜💜
Were there eight buttons?
Unfortunately no there was not.
If you make ATC's do you trade them? What do you do with the ones you get back from a trade?
Occasionally I’ll do a swap with someone and I have an ATC album I keep them in.
❤
Mr. Ceri. I am reading "NOW I SEA" (Spiritual Life Lessons from the Sea ... by Jenny L. Cote). On pages 52-58 she talks about lighthouses, their function, and their former keepers. Thought this might be of interest you. The rest of the book is good too!
Thank you I’m need to check it out.
This was very enlightening and I loved it.I have a question: My sister is not an artist, but creates skincare products for mature women. She's a wonderful scientist and wanted a specific piece of art for her boxes. So she used AI to create stunning floral images that look like high-end watercolors, that honestly, I liked a lot more than the original inspiration watercolor she was going to use. A lot of AI looks cartoony to me, this was anything but, it's classy and stunning. What are your thoughts about AI and the future of art?
I think AI is something that is going to stay here and developing quickly, whether you like it or not we’re going to have to accept it. That doesn’t mean I’ll choose to use it. It will spawn a whole new type of artist.
