    So I have a 2020 Tiguan & a 2022 Golf 8(both purchased new). I've driven some of the cars presented. and for me personally, I'd go for the CX-5 anyday. Otherwise, CR-V, then RAV4. The Tiguan I own is really great, no issues no nothing, but the golf, my god is horrendous. I've had software issues like crazy, traffic alert issue, parking sensors issue (going off on the highway or not actually starting when needed to park), climate software issues, electric seat issue all sorts of things. I've been owning 4 VWs now, and homestly, they turned into garbarge. Also my gripe is that they cut costs so much nowadays (had a golf 7 facelift from work to compare) they everything made touch it made 0 logic in my head. Also hate the damn touchbar for climate/volume that doesn't even have backlight. Just my two cents. Besides this, amazing review, thanks for the time & dedication!

    A contrast like this is really useful rather than one off reviews.
    The first thing which strikes me is that non premium cars are getting pretty good and you wonder why you have to pay the premium. The second thing which was striking is that the Japanese examples all had good traditional UI/UXs and downplayed the infotainment; I like that. The car which interested me most was the Nissan because it uses the ICE just as a generator something which you can also see in the range extender version of the Mazda MX30. The Alfa Romeo Junior Veloce would also have fitted into the comparison and would have wiped the floor with everything else.

    It’s so stupid that we don’t get the Qashqai in North America, let alone a rogue hybrid. As a fan of Nissan and Infiniti at their peak I think the Qashqai would sell so well here. Even though the Roque does sell fairly well. Out of all of those the Nissan looks the best.

      @@autogefuehl oh yes, we had the rogue sport here up until 2022 but it was the old Qashqai that Europe also got I think it debuted in like 2012. At least we get a new Nissan kicks, which actually looks really good, but it’s incredibly underpowered and offers no hybrid.

    You can't compare these because of size/price difference.
    RAV4 / CRV for reliability / allround crossover with good space.
    Qashqai, Kuga, CX5, Taos are great cars but definitely smaller and cheaper.
    Kodiaq is your choice when you are looking for the biggest crossover for Rav4 money.

    My first choice would have been Mazda, due to the very good build quality, including look and feel, in contrast with Toyota. But unfortunately they do not have a full hybrid, their engine is quite thirsty. If RAV4 would not have been so noisy on the highway, I would go for it, because I appreciate the reliability and the sits comfort. I could accept the numb look and feel, typical Toyota, but I cannot accept such a noisy car. For me a hybrid is about refinement, not about noise and prominent exhaust pipes.
    The third option will be then the Kuga. It has a poor interior and a small trunk, but otherwise it is fine and relatively reliable. THe engine was conceived by Mazda, the transmission by Toyota, both adapted by Ford, they have chances of running well.
    VW and Skoda I cannot trust anymore, not matter the features.

    me and me wife tested z-rv, qashqi, tucson, sportage, kuga, karoq, tiguan and we went for kuga. We wanted qashqai, but they have no fast AWD option ( boomer), skoda didn't give us a good offer for karoq, and the ford give us almost all, the good price for the full max st line X, good engine and AWD, the inside material could be better but they are fine for the price.

    When looking for a SUV i went and drove all under the Sun for at least 2 days each. I even looked beneath them all. I bought the Kodiaq. No contest. Rav 4 gearbox is crap. Also the soundproofing on Motorway. Feels like a car - 10k euros. Best one after Kodiaq is the Sportage but overall quality of plastics is worse, also soundproofing. Sportage is better equiped for same money. Build quality beneath is worse than Kodiaq and RAV4. Tiguan is on par with Kodiaq in terms of build quality and soundproofing, some plastics in some places are better than the Kodiaq but the overall interior space is noticeable smaller. I like the interface of the dials better in the Kodiaq. Taos and Corrola didnt care for ..they feel less well stable than the others. Also noisier then the others. Gearbox is funky for Toyotas. The Honda is ok but very Boring in my eyes, ergonomy was a bit strange.

      are you not concerned with the reliability issues of the Kodiaq? specifically the DSG7 and water pump? I am asking because I am interested in the Kodiaq as well but those are the only issues putting me off. Also, not interested in leasing as suggested in the video.

    • @alexsam2630
      @alexsam2630 3 месяца назад +1

      @@heliostud hi, no I am not. The reason being there are millions of DSG's in use with over 200k km and no issues. Some might have issues but the fail ratio is not significant. The water pump is a easy fix if it does fail but again I do not see it as a major issue. If you are that concerned check with the dealer if you can get some extended warranty.
