Delci!!!! 😃 Always makes me smile when I get your notifications. You’re so right about CL; very scary stuff to deal with. I’m ready to check out part 2! Thanks for providing such great information!!
Jerry Gann Hello! It is definitely scary! Im curious as to what the reaction will be to the next video 😊 I plan to have it out tomorrow. My mom got sick with pneumonia a couple weeks ago and I’m covering the bookstore for her. So it’s a big change and we are trying to balance life and still get it all done. Hope all is well with you!
Delci- I'm a first time goat mom and your videos have been lifesavers. Unfortunately we just bought a pair of does and found abscesses on both. Vets closed until Monday and I'm praying to the good Lord we aren't facing CL Thank you for taking the time out of your day to teach us Hopefully I'll get your goat binder for mother's day. Already dropped a hint (link!) Lololol
Thank you so much for this video! Last year, I tested my goats for CL for the first time. Results came back with two positive and five suspect goats. I was heartbroken and scared. I have never EVER seen abscesses in my goats. I called all the people I bought goats from and found out that they never tested for CL, but that they never saw symptoms of it either. This year, we were planning to sell some goats and our results came back positive for ALL of them. Again, never seen any abscesses in any of my goats. With Covid going around, it really got me thinking about how we can have those antibodies but never manifest symptoms and be contagious. I appreciate all of this information. I had already realized this last year and forgot. It helped me tremendously. I do not feel so anxious now. Especially since it has been over a year since the first positive tests.
Oh My! You've had quite a year! It's such a hard disease to deal with--mentally, emotionally and then it's so messy if the abscesses actually do happen. But you're right, the antibodies can be developed without symptoms and if the goats have strong immune systems, then they develop immunity and aren't affected at all from there. Sounds like you have experienced that. The hard part is that their test show a positive and people don't like that. But man, it's a very contagious disease that won't kill a goat or affect it negatively in huge ways...so although scary and we don't want it in our herds or to spread it...it's also manageable. So glad you feel less anxious :) 2020 doesn't need any more anxiety!
I have a 9 yr old Nigerian doe with it,I stopped trying to control it..I came to terms that I will have contaminated soil for years(?). I vaccinated her for it 7 yrs ago..I was given a goat with it and didn't know any better. She slowly stopped getting visible abscesses, but a rare one if she was stressed. She's been my healthiest goat and quick to snap back so far 🤷🏼♀️ I agree it sucks and wouldn't wish it on anyone! I thought she was finally getting g taken down from it this week..just barberpole worms 😵💫 She's done super well and improving in bounds so far!
Great video! I will definitely be watching the 2nd half later as soon as I have a chance. CL is really scary to me! And I am down south in a hot climate too, so that does worry me too. Trying my best to keep my 10 little Nigerian 🐐 happy& healthy!
I had an 11year old goat with large lumps in his throat latch area, but they never burst open. Could it have been something other than CL? Never had them tested, as he was also starting to lose weight so I had him euthanized. His friend, another goat of the same age, also was starting to lose weight, but he had no lumps. I put them both down together, as nothing I tried helped them start thriving again. 😢
Wow! Delci just today I found what looks like CL...Its a large round area I did not see before on her neck. We purchased her already pregnant and she is due anytime. Every day I think Today will be the day. We have literally watch the 11 signs of labor about 7 or 8 times. We have seen all the signs but pawing and mucus. She has given birth to triplets and twins this is her third time and she is just over 2 per the owner. I will be looking for that next video on treatment asap.
If there are no goats within a mile are they still in danger? We've had hirs s and pigs on this field years ago and currently have chickens but there are no goats near us
What about just a lump on the neck? We bought 5 goats a little over a month ago. One has a lump on her neck a little smaller than a golf ball. Nothing is oozing. I’m about to get your binder, I love all your info thank you so much for providing this information. Is it possible that the lump is just nothing or is it more often than not just going to grow and then burst? It hasn’t seemed to grow so I’m curious. I’m new to goats. Two of the goats at 4 years old and the three babies are 9 and 10 weeks.
I have your goat binder but I my phone lost all the email which was the stuff that was with the binder everything that came with the binder I still have my binder but I need what came with it I’m having a problem with my Lucy please help me 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
There is a treatment plan I have outlined in this. It may be effective. Be sure to read all about CL so you really understand what’s going on and the implications. You can read about it here: alifeofheritage.com/farm-living/cl-in-goats/
I am a veterinarian.I appreciate your efforts,you explain like a veterinarian.
Just Love how you deliver it❤️❤️❤️

I have been told by vets that there is so much testing error in the CL Elisa blood test that it's not a meaningful diagnostic or screening tool.
@@milkywayranchsc My new vet here in AR has said the very same thing. Unreliable.
Once vaccinated will test positive for life
We LOVE LOVE LOVE the goat binder!
I'm so glad you are loving the goat binder! That just makes my day! Thanks for letting me know! 😊
Thank you for all your info and doing all the studying on this and many I there topics.
Glad it was helpful! It's an important subject for goat owners to think about 😊

And I have a pygmy doe who has been exposed to CL..she shows no signs of having it.Its been interesting to see them both doing fine so far!

It is scary, isn’t it? 😖
I truly hope you never have to deal with it!
But your goats are lucky to have you!

Definitely keep an eye on it! I truly hope it’s not CL!
And how very exciting about the impending birth! Let me know how it goes!
Are there any herbal remedies and is it contagious to humans, if so how is it treated

I have three wethers. No health problems, can the binder help me with them?
Do it a goat tests positive to it but never gets the absesses then is not contagious?
I love the long videos thats how I learn, I love DETAILS because I’m a VERY detailed person as well…. Keep em coming…Thanks in advance
Can you treat a goat with it if it has it.
