NOTE: The video correctly states that you cannot tick the same provision off more than once from the table at the top of the board during a round, but suggests that you can still mark one of those types of spaces on your map - which isn't accurate. You may only place an X on a space containing a provision if the corresponding provision type is STILL available (has not been marked out) on the scoring tile column for the current round.
NOTE: When I say there is no active player in the 7th turn of a 3 player game, that is in the 4th round only.
NOTE: When playing with achievements, decide how many achievement tiles to use (1-3). Draw that number (total, not per player as the video states) from the leftover tiles and turn them over where you'll find goals for all the players. All players may earn achievement points. Achievements are scored at the end of the game unless otherwise indicated.
Lovely video as usual! Seems like a really charming, relaxing game to play
I think that's a very accurate way of describing it!
My daughter and I loved this! We love your videos, they are great and brighten our day! Keep up the amazing work. Love love them so much, so more!
Thank you both so much for the kind words :) More videos on the way!
Hi Rodney and thanks as always for brightening my day with a game….
A pleasure to be able to Greg :)
Instant buy after watching your video, Rodney. Well explained. Keep up the good work.
Thank you kindly Kevin - glad you enjoyed!
Great video and the game looks like a great one when you don't want to explain a huge game to friends or when you are playing with people not very familiar with gaming. I think my mom would really get into this and my mother-in-law, too, actually!
Hey hey, something for the family!
I bought this and my wife and 6 year old daughter love it, it's a great little game.
So glad you've been enjoying it!
You aren't sporting one of your usual plaid shirts Rodney, I almost didn't recoginse you. This game looks fun. I thank you for your efforts.
This box cover posed a challenge to my plaid wardrobe!
Great video love your explanations
Thank you Jason!
Seems like a pretty good game to chill around.
Great video as usual 😁
Thanks Skarpo :)
Great video! 👍looks likes a neat game.
That Phil Walker-Harding. A clever designer!
Rodney showing how to play a Phil Walker-Harding game is a moment of Zen for me.
Here's to more Zen in the future :)
14:48 It would be really embarrassing if you'd said 8 there, huh?
That would have been the worst! Whew!
What a clever game! I really like this. I think it is an easy to understand, relaxing game that would be a great game to play in a lighter situation. Good mechanics, that make it just enough that it is not boring by any means. Alas, the ankle bracelet is still firmly in place; so this will be a pass for now. Perhaps after I have thinned the herd a little. Maybe when we start having more people over? Great video.
The videos can be a nice little filler while you wait for the ankle bracelet to come off. Enjoy games vicariously :)
Great video, Rodney! I love anything Phil Walker-Harding designs, especially Summer Camp:) - Bryan, Community Manager
He's done so many interesting designs. I haven't played Summer Camp, will have to look it up!
@@WatchItPlayed It’s an enjoyable gateway deck builder with a fun theme. It includes a base deck and seven other decks of which you choose three for a game, so variability is present.
Here’s Meeple University’s tutorial if you find some down time: ruclips.net/video/WK5_LU_t4hA/видео.html 😃
Thanks! Funny enough, wearing a Meeple University shirt right now :)
@@WatchItPlayed 😂 Such a fun gaming couple!
Nice, reminds me of trails of tucana
I haven't played that one!
Phil Walker-Harding - praise be
Hi Rodney, great video as always. One question, when playing with achievements, I understand from your video that each player gets a personal achievement, but when I look in the rule book looks like the achievements are public to all players. Which is right?
Many thanks,
Sebastian
Just seen it has been answered 😊
For using a scroll... are the 4 Xs replacing the normal 3/2 Xs from the terrain or is it 4 extra on top of the normal movement?
(Example: terrain is mountain/desert (Active player chooses desert) can you mark 3 Xs on mountain then use scroll to mark 4 Xs on wager?)
It's replacing the normal X's you would place.
Be careful, he can also perfectly flip tiles
Canadians have a limited ability to manipulate gravity at will. This helps with Rodney’s superior box and tile flipping abilities don’t you know 😉
@@BadassBeazly Is this a born with thing or can one get it with the Citizenship? Asking for a friend
@@Skarpo89 I think the Canadian climate has a lot of influence on our reaction times, endurance and throwing abilities. Think of slipping on ice, shoveling mountains of snow after almost every weather event (winter, fall, spring and summer, it snows every season here it seems) and of course, the seemingly innumerable winter sports that folks enjoy here, gift us with this bizzare but exceedingly useful ability. I would say that it is a skill that is learned after experiencing 3-5 winters in Canada. So, I suppose this latent gravity manipulation proficiency can be had with citizenship too. Go tell your friend! 🤪
@@BadassBeazly Oof, I have a bad knee, I don't think I could shovel so much snow, I would like to visit at least someday! Maybe some of that strength will pass on to me
I try not to talk about it too much :)
This one might be the one I jump into flip/roll-n-writes. Never had an interest in them, but this one looks light and accessible, but still lots to sink your teeth into
Glad this one caught your interest!
Great video.
Much appreciated.
I wondered, from the rules, if a key gave you an extra X, but your explanation shows me NO.
👍
Very glad this was helpful Jonathan!
What’s the best strategy to score the most points
I don't tend to get into strategy advice, but perhaps someone else will chime in about that.
Can you do one on the game of “steam time”
Thanks for the interest! I talk a bit about that here: ruclips.net/video/EdtDuvIUa6A/видео.html&t=342
The rulebook states "You can only place an X on a space containing a provision if the corresponding provision type is still available on the scoring tyle column for the current round," so you cannot mark an X on the provision on your map if it one of that type has already been marked off that round.
Very good point - the video correctly states that you cannot tick the same provision off more than once from the table at the top of the board during a round, but suggests that you can still mark one of those types of spaces on your map, which isn't accurate. Thank you for the catch - will add a note!
@@WatchItPlayed I actually saw the discussion over on BGG. I had mainly watched your video first and then did a quick read through of the rulebook and had missed it myself due to that combination. Although, honestly I would personally avoid marking through it even if it were legal. We've only played twice and no one has inadvertently broken that rule yet anyway, so all good.
Reposted due to saying 8 instead of 6?
Yep! That one slipped right past me because I ended up using a different tile than I had originally planned. A silly goof up!
Games with markers stress me out because I'm so focused on people closing the caps on the markers when their not using em. Its weird but it bugs me.
I'm sure you're not alone :)
@14:45 I do not believe that achievements are selected by each player. 1-3 tiles are selected and are objectives of all players. It may not be 100% clear in the text, but the 12 achievements that work like temple scoring would not make sense if they only applied to one player only (and page 9 states explicitly thay the same achievement may be achieved by e.g. 2 players simultaneously). The German rules also state more it more clearly: "Sie gelten für alle Spieler" (they -apply to all players). It is, however, to me not clear how the text describing that other players cross out numbers for these acthievements as there is only one tile per achievement and not any numbers elsewhere to cross out.
Hi Jan, good catch on this - you are right, 1-3 achievements are reveled for the group (not per player). I will pin a note about this. Sorry for any confusion.
Feels like "Silver & Gold" on steroids. Just to be clear, that's a good thing
I haven't played that one, but I'll take your word for it :)
Nice day for fishing, aint it
Viva!
A bit of a Silver & Gold vibe.
I haven't played that one yet.
No plaid shirt?
Don't want to be TOO predictable ;)
What!!! No plaid shirt!??? What is going on?
Can't be TOO predictable - don't want you to take it for granted!
