How to fix an EPSON EcoTank 2850 print quality issues or the colour is missing completely

- If you have print quality issues including one or more colours that are complete missing when printing, then I will show you how to check the condition of your epson ecotank 2850 print nozzle first (other models too), then perform basic head cleaning and if that doesn't work move onto power cleaning which can be performed every 12 hours. You should not keep doing head cleaning as it can introduce air and make blockages worse sometimes.
If this process doesn't work then the may be ink starvation within the damper or lines going back to the tank if that's the case see the following video from @BCHTechnologies it's really helpful:

A huge thank you for this. My magenta hadn't been working for a while so I tried three head cleans - end result was that only the black was working 😞 Left it for six hours and did a power clean, now all colours are working perfectly!

Thanks for this, I did the nozzle clean a few days ago and it got worse with every try. Did the Power clean and now all is good again. Small note, on mine the Power clean used about 20% of the ink from all tanks.

Its funny, my ET-2760 won't do a power clean from the menu (it just displays the support website link lol) I have to hold down the power and help button when booting to acess it.

Not sure if you can help me but I thought I'd see if you can give me some suggestions after watching your video. I just purchased a new ET 3850 and completed the entire setup process. I chose the correct paper size and paper quality. I printed a basic document with a small picture header that I had on file. I am extremely disappointed in the quality of the print. The blacks are gray and the entire document is grainy. I notice the same thing when I scanned a document and even before I hit print the document looks distorted and grainy. There are no lines or separations in any of the images so I'm confident that the alignment for the heads is correct. Any suggestions before I take this thing back or I bought it.? Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Can you please give me some advice? After my printer experienced an ink alarm, I purchased new ink from Epson. The problem is that the colors pink and blue don't fill in.
I think there is a problem with my tank. I didn't really know what to do. I've done all the necessary troubleshooting with the printer, I mean maintenance required and... But it doesn't work. It shows that there is ink, but I know there is some ink missing in printer.
It no longer prints in color. I bought this print last year in March.
I would be very grateful for your help.

I've done a clean print head 3 times and not gotten any colours on my nozzle check 3 times...I'm not sure if I should do a power clean as it states it can damage the machine...I have plenty of ink if I need to..could you advise me, please...I've got the Epson ET-2810 Series...many thanks😊

I just did a nozzle check and got all the lines to be present. But when I printed some b&w pictures on card stock paper there were so many lines/gaps on my prints. Would you recommend a head check or power clean? 😫

all the lines present even on the black nozzles? do another nozzle check to be sure.
Hey! I've done some nozzle cleans, but my images are coming out grainy, I don't have any colours missing, just quality problems. I've messed around with the paper and quality settings but nothing seems to help.. Any advice?

Okay that did not work i cannot see a link to the next part that needs ink. Ive hardly used the printer. Its one year old yesterday and will not print any colour only black? The blue sections on what i tried to print are just faint lines and no colours on the page you printed in this. Help
When setting up the printer, it was initialized with only black ink, before the other colors were added. Do you know anyway to go through the initialization process again?
2 months ago. Well, I did the same thing. Apparently a power cleaning will do about the same thing as initializing

Ok, so my lime green small triangle logo is coming out dark green on a vinyl sheet and paper. I did this test and the lines on the test are all completed but triangle still dark. WHat can I do?
try dabbing the ink collector sponge, then clean the head it may have too much ink and got contaminated

are you doing the nozzle check from the PC software or directly on the printer using the menu?

Print issue I have is, vector files sent from CorelDraw end up printing noticeable however slight, jaggies on some font characters.
with corel draw, try print preview for printing not just print from workspace it seems to clean the images up and fix problems.
I’ve done all of these including the power clean and the ink is still faded like it’s not releasing the ink. Absolutely frustrating and another piece of junk sucking up my money.
when you do a nozzle check is there a lot missing?
I have 2 of these ET-2800 and 2850 both clogged, not a nozzle problem the ink not flowing into the small cartridge inside. I had to do a power clean. when they crock I will never again buy these crappy machines.

I had the same issue with the Epson 2400. I had to get rid of 2 of them because of the same issue. I just purchased this one in the video. Please don’t tell me it’s going to be the same issue. 😮

@@DanielJohnHowTo When I select Power Cleaning I get the info screen which says I might not have enough Ink, and to refill the tanks first. The tanks are already full. If I try to proceed, it just goes back to the Power Cleaning option. I'd like to see what happens when you actually select power clean and the process begins.
