Watching in 2020 and what a phone it was back in those days!
Almost every feature in the UI is toggle-able, and if you prefer you can tweak the software further to optimize it. So far, the only freezing bugs we've seen have been on our N900 review unit; we'll let you know if we see similar behavior on the US version we're taking delivery on tomorrow. ^MF
I actually miss my Note 3! It was so powerful and ahead of its time and the second only behind the LG G2 I'm having the snapdragon 800 series processor! It was so bad ass....its still a great phone today

The Gallery is a tad sluggish, and we recall similar performance issues on the US Note II. But our Note 3 (again, the Exynos version) is pretty swift in the Gallery app. ^MF

Great vid, michael. Would like to see more actual "doing things" with the phone (such as you showed saving the comments onto the scrapbook) - seeing how the phone behaves in common and even tedious exercises helps see how the phone really performs. Many thanks.
PLEASE, do a camera comparison between it, 5Sheet and 1020, these photos looks incredible and I have a feeling it has the best dynamic range from all of them

I'm watching this in 2022 on my "small" and "compact" Pixel 3a with a 5.6" screen. I remember rocking the Note 3 back in the day and thinking it was huge.

very professional looking video and sounding audio on this review, but you should have made clearer the differences between the Exynos and Snapdragon versions IMO.

We are really liking what we hear and as entertainers it's important we are able to have everything from a great screen to the power to do pretty much any and everything on the spot so that time isn't wasted ... Great -- review Michael!!
I'm pretty sure it will especially the white one even if you rub it down and clean it'll probably still be dirty. Nowadays you can't not make a white phone but that's a problem a lot of people will run into they'll need to either buy additional back covers or put a good case on the phone to protect the back from dirt. Great question though I don't see anybody bringing that up.
Went from a 6 plus ti a note 3 and I don't regret it at all
I went the other way, but it was Note 3 to OnePlus One to 6 Plus.

Only wish Samsung would update their UI and drop the garish blue/green gradient stuff, which screams 2010.
I've had the Note 3 (9005) for a little over a week now and pretty much agree with this review. I've found areas to use this phone in that I wouldn't have imagined if it didn't have the amazing display quality and size, pen, camera and tremendous battery life! With heavy use you can't drain the battery in one day! I've tested different scenarios and now I'm doing light to moderate with 1day 10 hours since charge and 30% battery left! It's an amazing piece of hardware and I have no regrets! =)

Good review. Better than I expected. I've noticed from other reviewers occasional freeze ups with the Exynos version but not with the Snapdragon. Will be interesting to see if that works the same way for you when you get the Snapdragon model.
I got the Note 3 last friday (snapdragon 800)
Its a beast and so far have not had any issues.

Would've appreciated if you have done a review on the quality of music the note 3 produces. A lot of us uses their phone as an mp3 player as well.
Yeah I understand that you guys can't really say if its a great device until you have done a proper test. For me the question is can the device last 2 years or would the cheaper devices last just as long for half as much. The pebble looks really cool and I'm glad to hear that it works well but I question the longevity since I am already spending under $200 for the device maybe the extra hundred isn't as astronomical as people think.I look forward to seeing a video in detail about the galwatch.

Great review! The only question i would ask is that, would the back battery cover get dirty easily.
I was under the impression that this phone would have scored way lower because of Michael's initial thoughts that was mentioned briefly in the weekly podcast.
Any chance of you guys throwing the two power house devices, the Note 3 and G2 at each other in a comparison video in the near future?

Michael, I love your review, quite nice to point out the low light shooting mode bury in the settings of the phone, why would Samsung do such stupid thing? I do like the looks of the GN3

The best upgrade I have ever done, q1,evo, evo3d, gs3, gs and now n3...awesome.

Michael can you please show us the restart time on the note 3? My note 2 used to restart really fast while my S4 takes forever to turn off and much longer to start than the note 2.
I love pocketnow have been and am a big fan of how they've grown the site. I like the scoring of the phone, however I think it would be better if it were done in sections and if you would display what the phone scored for each section. like an 8 for camera. 6 for hardware, 7 for screen and so on. Lets face it, the major categories that matter in phones are CAMERA, BATTERY LIFE, SCREEN QUALITY, LOOK AND FEEL. Just a thought.
At 9:30 you reminded me why i should have a good camera on my phone. What a lovely scene. Ok now back to the beast :)

great review! the only thing i simply don't accept is the score. how can this brilliant device score the same as an iphone 5s?? as a tech enthusiast i ask you this quetsion.

it's not a matter of how it fits your needs... my dad would score his old nokia 3320 a 10/10. see my point?

The way you give a review is just Amazing!! I had bought an S4 ON the first day of its launch in India back in APRIL, as ur review was on S4, my S4 too used to Lag a Lot, i made a big mistake by the galaxy S4 even after such bad reviews on it.. i saw ur review on HTC ONE n then bought the HTC ONE last month n i love my HTC ONE.. Its miles ahead of Galaxy S4 in all aspects..
