Republic Services: Rear Loader Garbage Truck on Manual Trash and Leaves

  • Happy Thanksgiving everybody! Just a couple days ago I went back to Grapevine to see what else I could find in addition to the last time during summer. This is one of at least a dozen combos used for trash around here. This area has so many pretty trees during fall, and with that comes a ton of leaves. Not sure why they were mixing yard waste with trash, but it's probably because what's in the bags can be confusing, so they just grab it all. Hope y'all enjoy!
    Huge thanks to the super awesome crew for allowing me to video-tape! Hope y'alls family gets to watch the great work!

    Nice video! Gotta love leaf season to watch but gotta love to hate it when throwing trash. The light bags aren't bad at all but those body bags people love to put out SUCK haha. Could also be taking them with trash because you can't take plastic bags for composting. Is there a separate yard waste program in this area?

    • @RefuseDFW02
      @RefuseDFW02  4 года назад +2

      rws676 Thanks dude! Yeah it is normally separate, but even some of those black plastic bags full of leaves were too heavy for crews with only one man, so they just skipped them.

      How do you like it so far? I've been thinking about applying to be a residential helper and eventually become a driver when I can get my CDL B.

      What do you mean you drive and throw? You get out and have to get trash and then jump back in a drive

    Awesome work! It seems that Republic is somewhat phasing our rear loaders more and more around the country, so newer ones like these you don’t see too often. It’s always a treat to watch manual trash, and a nice mix of leaves in with it too. Awesome video, really enjoyed it!

    • @RefuseDFW02
      @RefuseDFW02  4 года назад +1

      IWS15 Thank you sir! Quite a few cities here actually prefer manual over automated, so there will be a lot more rear loader footage for the future!

    Great video my brother. Nothing like old school rear loader action. Throwing cans and all. Just like way back in the day when yard waste was just considered part of the trash. Heavy workouts for the these guys though. Clean truck too, no problem packing any of these bags.

    I was bored so I looked it up. Wednesday is yard waste day, first and third Wednesday of the month. Other Wednesday’s are bulk days. On those days all the trucks get together and do yard waste or bulk. It’s gotta be in paper bags or manual bins, not plastic bags.

    • @RefuseDFW02
      @RefuseDFW02  4 года назад +2

      Haha yeah they were one of the nicest rear load crews I've walked into, and debris like that never slows em' down.

    • @evanm289
      @evanm289 4 года назад +1

      Yeah it’s an awesome video man. I’m sure it doesn’t slow em down haha. Trucks have a lot of power! I’ve always wondered if something was accidentally thrown in if it’s packed a few times if it’s gone and done for pretty much right away or if it would still be saveable lol.

    Why does the driver keep stopping so far from the bags n cans I drove rear loader for BFI you keep that hopper close to the stop . Still good team work these two guys are . I wonder how many loads they pull a day.. we did two and half loads especially on Monday and Thursdays were heavy days of the route .
