Well it's complicated, since they mostly get revenue from fixed monthly sub money and have to pay a lot for licensing, the amount they can give back is limited. also the managers /holding companies siphon out money which Spotify has no control over
@@alihorda The only reason why they "have to pay a lot for licensing", is because them and their millionaire friends in the licensing industry made this a reality. Independent artists are the ones who consistently get f*cked the most by the entire music industry, because it was made to be this way, and it goes to show how harmful and hypocritical said industry is. Copyright is a whole another bag of BS that once again only cares about major companies and does not give an absolute sh*t about ACTUAL ARTISTS. Which is why, if you're a niche musician, signing away your soul to a major company is the worst thing you could do. However, I'd imagine that small independent labels tend to work much better and fairer.
Interesting video, and I agree with the rest of the comments the editing and overall quality of your vids has gotten better. Looking forward to seeing you grow. Edit: Forgot to mention, your puns are hilarious :)
You know you are my favorite small creator. Bright Side clickbait is hitting 50 mil and 5 minute crafts- don’t even get me started. More people should know about you. Or it can just be me and the gangs little secret 🤫
Hey man, I still remember that scare you gave us with that Thank you Chester videos, I've been here since the first 100 subscribers, and I want to say I'm glad you're okay, and hope you keep growing in the future.
I found your channel from a RUclips comment lol its inside edition family returning home shocked to find their house clean u replied to a comment and I found u
What services Record labels provide to justify taking 80% of artists revenues? That's nuts! Spotify have democratised access to world music and now we can discover about music we could have never done before. Though the music industry needs to think harder and more creatively on how to reward artists. I am thinking about NFTs, merchandising, and other exclusive access to artists... Unfortunately it will be always the case, bigger artists will get bigger £££. Same in football, top guys get a lot, small guys don't...
The only fair model is obviously a user centered one with pay per second instead of pay per stream. But Spotify and record labels dont give a crap about small artists dying and prefer to give the money it corresponds to them to the big artists. Good video, you should add this into the discussion. A model meant to make the rich richer thanks to the poor artists. Btw im not an artist but I feel sad for them as I love their music
Don't know how Spotify will sustain in the future with this model. I've heard that with the rise of Blockchain, there will be decentralized platforms that will directly connect listeners and artists. Btw, good content. Glad that I opened your channel after seeing your comment on someone's video
Right now i have around 199,000 plays on my song 13,000 coming from apple music and the rest from Spotify the majority like 65% coming from Brazil by ad supporters but still haven't got paid, how much is that give or take?
Interesting, I didn't realize they had it set up in proportion to total plays like that. Do Apple, RUclips, Amazon, etc. use the same pro rata method to pay labels?
Your editing is getting better and better! Great job
How shocking. The least talented people run the platform, sit at the top, and absorb all the money.
Sounds a lot like the music industry to me.
