I don’t know why but I feel like this is gamesmanship, especially with how people have been saying they saw him and he was walking fine, either way though all we need to do is win 2 out of the next 5 games, if this was game 1 it would be different but give ourselves a 2-0 head start was huuuuuuuuuge! Why is that crazy? Celtics fans sure as hell don't mind that they are playing against an injured Luka in this series. Both sides wanting to win isn't crazy.

I need JT to pick up his shooting while maintaining his level of distribution and ability to clean the glass. Certainly would take a lot of pressure off KP and open up the floor even more. C’s in 5☘️☘️
Horford has plenty of rest and wants the Title. If you have to play Kornet, Tillman, or Brissett then only do it for like 3 minute stretches. It doens't have to turn into long rotations. Quick subsitutions. I still think KP is going to give the Celtics 18ish minutes
Even spreading the floor and throwing off the mavs defense as a decoy would do him well. I say 15 min on the floor if he’s healthy enough to run up and down the court

Boston's winning percentage through the playoffs thus far: With KP .762 without KP .857 I'm not too concerned. This is our year. I didn't believe that earlier in the season, but I'm convinced now. However I'm not in the "Celts in 4" crowd. Despite Kyrie's struggles & Puka's injury, it's very possible they could win one at home. Tomorrow is a huge game-obviously. If Boston wins, they're in complete control. However if Dallas wins, they regain a lot of confidence and know that a G4 win and it's a whole new series. Celts need to at the very least leave Dallas with a split. As far as KP's injuries go, with all the technology and top notch trainers/doctors (Boston has the best docs in the world) we have, noone can get him on a training regimen and or diet that will bulk him up a bit, add some muscle and make him generally stronger? After you explained the injury this is the exact same thing my ankle does. It happened about 8 years ago and my high school health trainer. Told me that I had torn the 2 tendons that hold that muscle in place. Very odd. I never realized it was that rare

Man, this does suck, and it worries me for the rest of the series going forward. But hopefully, with or without him, we can go up 3-0. But now I'm definitely more worried than i was.
Despite the comments from the foolish media that also chose Mavs practically unanimously, we never needed Porzingis to win the Finals. He makes it a forgone conclusion but we can definitely win without him as well. We know exactly how it will look too. Without Porzingis it will be a grind out game, with him we blow teams out.
We come this far basically without him, the pacers series was much closer and hard fought than this one so far, and we swept through that.
We will miss him, but I don't think we need him

This team got to the finals only dropping 2 games without him, now they took the 3rd game without him also. He was great in the 2 games he played but this was still a dominant team when he wasn't in the lineup. Of course, if he could get healthy the C's would be downright scary dominant.

The games might look different without Zingis, a’ la the Pacers series, but there’s so many things that gives me confidence.
I think this calls for more Tatum at the 5 and Hauser taking some of Porzingis minutes and play some small ball. We cannot afford Luka to get switched on Luke coz that will make everyone else going.

It’s not that the injury is very rare, it’s that it was harder to discover and diagnose this type of injury. Now that MRIs are becoming a lot better, you’ll see this injury a lot more.
I’m ok even if KP doesn’t play. I honestly think we’re a better team. On one condition, defence has to be there again. As bad as Tatum shot the ball we made up for defensively. Kyrie isn’t playing a bad game, he simply cannot find any opening to score. Mavs have yet to respond to Celtics defence and frankly I don’t think they can. I still feel Mavs have one game in them and Celtics may have another bad shooting night but as we saw even that can’t derail this team. Regardless, KP or not, next man up. Let’s get this w, winning looks different every time.

KP repeatedly said that he intends to play. Normally, he should not play and risk serious injury. However, the finals is an opportunity he may never have again. Being a champion may be worth the early retirement.
KP was great in game 1 and did good things in game 2. Of course I hope he can play but national media is acting like kp was playing 42 minutes a game instead of the 22 or so he is actually playing. If he can even give them 15 minutes I like our chances.
Kristaps may not be a first option if he isn't totally healthy but Horford and Luke Kornet are very capable especially since Dallas doesn't really have a top center.
You could always tell Luke to "swing away". He can hit the shot, he will be wide open. He hits 2 or 3 , they may have to respect him.
Also, if you use him in the non-Luka mins, he may force Luka back into the game early, but at the same time you go to a post heavy offence.

Tillman, Brissett seems the worst of both worlds.
Tatum gets the shooting going but what you then give up rebounds.

Lively is a traditional center Luke similar even if it's a wash we still have advantage other positions

The 1 to 5 are traditional positions. The Celtics are built more like big/wings in the modern NBA. Tatum will play a lot of the 5 without necessarily forsaking his 3/4 slot.
Tatum played seconds in the 5 spot and would switch off to Al when defending dunker spot he covered space
