Immediately had a crush on Sharon and still have, I saw them the first time at Graspop Metall meeting in Belgium in 96 and this year for the fourtheenth time again at Graspop with 80000 people, and she is still stunningly beautiful at 49 and she still has the voice and the looks of An angel!
This is at Pukkelpop in Hasselt Belgium. It's a yearly festival with different groups and bands. And a few weeks later there is Rimpelrock. It's at the same field as Pukkelpop, but more music for "older" people, classics and schlahers ;-)
Even more fun fact: At the beginning, when they were poor, Sharon bought a dozen or so wedding dresses on sale - and then she used them for many years. This is one of them (you can see it's a bit too loose on the cleavage). The two most famous ones you can see in "Mother Earth" official video. Sharon left one of them originally white and the other dyed to red.

I had a serious crush on her during this period, her whole look here was just so appealing. This is Within Temptation in their early gothic / doom metal phase which they pretty much abandoned after their debut album. Their second album no longer had the growl vocals and musically they incorporated some folk elements creating something I call fairytale metal.

Saw them perform at parkpop in 2002 and 2005. All in all greatly enjoyed visiting parkpop in those years; Within Temption of course, but also Di-rect, Anouk, Kane, Suzanne Vega, Ilse de Lange, Krezip, Elvis Costello, Fish, de Dijk. Band that surprised me the most and I just loved; the Heideroosjes. Also very nice; Johan (I redommend people checking them out)
Their catalog eventually leaves Gothic Metal behind and they become a (the?) leader in symphonic metal. until others joined the genre...I think of this as their chrysalis stage... Sharon has a degree in fashion design, BTW.. Even back then, there is no mistaking the awesome quality of her singing...it penetrates deep... Yes, from the jump...
well ... none Dutch state we are blunt a lot. if you do think so, keep in mind we are never as blunt as we are amongst each other. pukkel pop could be translated into ... pimple pop
