LOL the launch was a clusterscrew, certainly. I'm playing it on PC now and aside from a few laggy spots (and to be fair I have a bunch of Chrome windows open with a billion tabs) it's not terrible, and an fun game. Granted, I waited for it to go on sale
Even without glitches Cyberjunk is overhyped trash, the fanboys are so toxic I wanted it to fail and it has beyond my wildest dreams, mgtow, neck beard, incel gamer bros got the broken piece of shit they deserve.
I do think this will this game is redeemable with additional DLC and patches for older gen games(playing with a series x). CDPR has so far shown to not be EA. So I’ll hold out hope that the game becomes what we were promised. As for the release woof what a black eye. I feel like there were shareholders pressuring a holiday 2020 release, and the death threats after the last delay probably forced their hand. But an awful look when combined with the crunch, the long delays, and the other things that came up.
3 years later… I just bought it for $30 for ps4 and I have been so patient with this game. It has crashed minimal of 10 times on one play though. Have to walk around in circles as the open world and quest givers load in. Love the story and gameplay when it works correctly but omg it’s still so broke.
Even on the PC version I wouldn't say the game was much more than an 7/10 in its current state. In the first room you get to walk around I had NPCs missing chunks of their model and textures not loading, and the glitches just carried on from there. Plus you've got the awful driving controls and physics, complete lack of AI for other drivers. I've had skills and items that just stopped working, enemies instantly knowing where you are from stealth, poor weapon balance, the list goes on. There's a fun game buried in there, but it's a joke that reviewers were giving the game high scores when there's so much wrong with it. The industry needs more people like Jim Sterling or Jason Schrier who are willing to call developers out on their shit. Especially since it'll now be down to the devs who have already been working 100 hour weeks to get the game out, to fix all the issues over Christmas while the people who decided to release in this state have a nice break to spend some of the bonuses they "earned".
I'm playing on PC (a pretty old one though) and haven't seen much beyond an occasional glitch and some jank (not beyond what I expect from an open world game), that doesn't excuse the poor performance a lot of other people are experiencing of course. I'm mostly pissed that what they made is Far Cry 3 with a neon skin and somehow even worse crafting than that game, I expected a bit more. Come to think of it that irks me about a lot of CDP games: they write well and make nice worlds, but their gameplay is always generic and dull as dishwater and just riding the coattails of their competition who has already done such mechanics better. (name one truly unique mechanic they do in Witcher or Cyberpunk, you can't!)
Considering the game is pretty buggy and not working on last gen console's it reminded me that were in a sad time where game companies release games incomplete and make us pay for patches and dlc to make the game complete ourselves and take our money because the dev's are a bunch of greedy blockheads that just want our money, and for that reason alone is why inde games have game more respect because the people who make them actually put love and care and actually make the games they made completely and it's basically games made by video game fans for the video game fans
This is why I don't read previews, and if I do I put absolutely no water into the bucket. I'll read reviews and maybe watch a RUclips video or two just to see if it's something I might like to play before I buy anything. Media and development companies are WAY too in bed with each other. Gaming as a whole is really starting to wear me out with the constant drumbeat of "BUY BUY BUY, get in NOW at $70 before your friends get bored in a week and they all stop playing even though they were the ones who practically forced you to buy this fucking game you didn't want in the first place, and now you're still playing it alone because this shit was fucking expensive, and I want my goddamn money's worth..." The constant pressure to "keep up", the yearly rehash of the same damn thing only more broken and jankier than last year's version, the stories that are JUST. SO. BORING. From something I used to love now just a hollowed-out shell that capitalism scraped clean and tossed in the rubbish bin. I'm playing less, enjoying the whole thing less, and slowly drifting away. Sad.
Great channel. 2077 is pretty lame and broken (e.g., stealth, crafting, rpg elements, etc); I don't see the comparison as a continuation from TW3 though.
Hopefully, this will herald the end of studios and publishers overpromising and underdelivering on games. CDPR’s biggest mistake was developing with PC as the lead platform in the first place. There was no reason for them to not optimize for the base consoles THAT THEY ADVERTISED FOR INITIALLY.
The more these game companies fuck up the more I gain respect for Rockstar. Don't get me wrong Rockstar are greedy basterds but at least they make complete working games that are good and worth your money. The online part of their games is straight up theft though.
I love your channel for your political takes, but as someone who also loves gaming it’s awesome to see you covering this mess of a launch with an interesting take and comparison. This whole thing has been like a train wreck that I can’t turn away from.
Truly a terrible company. The whole episode of this game's development, marketing, and release embodies the corrupt mentality of corporations. Also, it's striking how GG mirrored right-wing populism in other spheres: lip service is paid to a problem, but the prescription offered is heinous and irrelevant to the actual problem, which was never the true concern of the group. Game journalism has never been good, but that was just a fig leaf.
To say this game is a mess is such an understatement, but it's beyond horrible on console. I feel so glad for getting it on PC, but even then, it still has issues.
I know they fixed Witcher 3 with a bunch of patches and all when that game was also riddled with bugs, but please don't get your hopes up for that. We don't know for sure if they will fix it as well as they did their previous game.
With a endless list of missing features, story content, *bRancHiNg narrative* that were advertised at so called night city wire events. I wouldn't call this a masterpiece especially after playing masterpieces like GOT, FF7 remake, DE or even Hades
But my friend that bought it digitally on Xbox One did get a refund... and then bought another game with that refund. I'm currently playing the game on Xbox One.
cd projekt is a studio worthy of respect based on previous games. I think the corporate mentality of the heads of the studio shouldn't tar rep of the company. Patches are coming for last gen but pc players and next gen ones have all sung its praises and patches are incoming for last gen.
Other than witcher 3 none of their games were great. According to your statement, I should treat Bethesda like king, cuz they had 4 GOTY titles, 1 RPG of the year title & R* games should be treated as gods as they have like 8 critically acclaimed titles & most of them were GOTY

I have yet seen none of the "false promesses" videos talking about the subject of the "true inclusivity" that was propmessed and undeliverred. It's actually a very queerphobe of a game and a very mysoginistic take on a dystopian cyberpunk unnivers. You can't create a genuine non binary or transgender character (the world still assigns you a gender based on a physical attribute), the only queer character in the game that you meet is the only one you have the option to beat to death and is extremely stereotyped. The game also takes you to a gay bar (the only one) that is depicted as the dirtyest and stinkyest place in Night City. The two male romances are subpar side quests that are very missable while there are 5 different female romances options with one mandatory sexe scene with one of them. This vedeo is several months old so I don't expect to be read. But I thought you would at least mention this since a wasn't expecting it from all the other reviewers... Thanks for your work tho ;)

23:25 I guess that the closest example of "over-promising, under-delivering" was No Man's Sky, which was also in shambles at launch.
www.theguardian.com/games/2018/jul/20/no-mans-sky-next-hello-games-sean-murray-harassment-interview
nah what was that unique dirving experience vid? im howling lmao
LOL the launch was a clusterscrew, certainly. I'm playing it on PC now and aside from a few laggy spots (and to be fair I have a bunch of Chrome windows open with a billion tabs) it's not terrible, and an fun game. Granted, I waited for it to go on sale
Do you know they got 8mln $ gov grant for AI development?...
cant wait til they pull a no man's sky and make the game ''actually good'' and everyone just dismisses any of the fuckups they did before
Even without glitches Cyberjunk is overhyped trash, the fanboys are so toxic I wanted it to fail and it has beyond my wildest dreams, mgtow, neck beard, incel gamer bros got the broken piece of shit they deserve.
I actually really like the game but like I said in the video really didn’t get the hype
Jason Schrier the only game journalist willing to do this? Did you forget Jim Sterling?!
I guess I mean conventional journalist I do love Jim though !
@@TheKavernacle Yeh, honestly I was expecting a majority of what you were gonna say thanks to his coverage already. Your vid's good too, though!

At least, Cyberpunk is playable on PC.
76 was both broken and dead on launch and all around a shit game.
3 years later… I just bought it for $30 for ps4 and I have been so patient with this game. It has crashed minimal of 10 times on one play though. Have to walk around in circles as the open world and quest givers load in. Love the story and gameplay when it works correctly but omg it’s still so broke.
it's one of my fav games but I always had PS5 so even completed it 3 years ago. It was never made for PS4 clearly !
From the beginning I was skeptical of the cyberpunk game that was advertised to be at the level of aaa games.
thought the thumbnail was cody and noel for a sec
@Jdhshd Hdhxhjd touche, when they do something non-dirivative it sucks.
Did you guys know that cyberpunk 2077 is a neo nazi video game lol
Game was bad even when it worked, felt like sci-fi Far Cry. Go here, shoot a red outline, get money, repeat. It felt like an apathetic AAA cash grab.
That was the worst wanted system I've ever seen omg
Good video, subscribbled
Considering the game is pretty buggy and not working on last gen console's it reminded me that were in a sad time where game companies release games incomplete and make us pay for patches and dlc to make the game complete ourselves and take our money because the dev's are a bunch of greedy blockheads that just want our money, and for that reason alone is why inde games have game more respect because the people who make them actually put love and care and actually make the games they made completely and it's basically games made by video game fans for the video game fans
"We leave greed to others".
Sad.
Meanwhile I'm just waiting for the first patch so I can play through it again...
It’s fine on PS5 atm
Great channel. 2077 is pretty lame and broken (e.g., stealth, crafting, rpg elements, etc); I don't see the comparison as a continuation from TW3 though.
Hopefully, this will herald the end of studios and publishers overpromising and underdelivering on games.
CDPR’s biggest mistake was developing with PC as the lead platform in the first place. There was no reason for them to not optimize for the base consoles THAT THEY ADVERTISED FOR INITIALLY.
This games launch is a real life example of what this game was littlerally trying to saterise 😂😂😂
The PS5 version is solid but the PS4 and Xbox One version are disasters.
The more these game companies fuck up the more I gain respect for Rockstar. Don't get me wrong Rockstar are greedy basterds but at least they make complete working games that are good and worth your money. The online part of their games is straight up theft though.
Mile wide... Inch deep
I just can't believe the audacity of creating such massive hype for what the game actually turned out to be. So many live events and advertising 🤦♂️
They should've delayed it till next year but im sure they will fix it. This just sucks all around a great game surrounded by a mess.
I know they fixed Witcher 3 with a bunch of patches and all when that game was also riddled with bugs, but please don't get your hopes up for that. We don't know for sure if they will fix it as well as they did their previous game.
I never had a problem with Witcher tbh. Think I had like one broke side quest.
With a endless list of missing features, story content, *bRancHiNg narrative* that were advertised at so called night city wire events. I wouldn't call this a masterpiece especially after playing masterpieces like GOT, FF7 remake, DE or even Hades
apparently they're providing refund to last gen customers so that's a good thing

@@COHOFSohamSengupta Could in good conscience say that cyberpunk was the fyre festival of games? On the pc side the games works well with the semi occasional bug. Also look into star citizen thats the fyre festival of games. I think treating a game thats going to receive updates and get fixed like a scam is a bit messed up.
Someone fell for their "we leave greed to others" PR campaign...
@@shis1988 Games get patched and fixed. Look at no mans sky etc.
Thanks me for watching and I agree the LGBT representation is done poorly - talked about trans representation before in a previous video - ruclips.net/video/3ZtbbYESpTU/видео.html
Who is this goon at the beginning? I mean, he's mostly right but calling it the "biggest blunder in all of vidya" is nonsense.

Are you saying there really is a problem with ethics in games journalism?!
It is not on the games journalist themselves its on the institutions - not that gamergate crap
ah jeez, its almost like we need ethics in games journalism. If only there had been an activist campaign for ethics in video game journalism.
That was just a load of shit and it wasn’t anti-capitalist at all therefore meaningless (not to mention insanely bigoted)
I wonder why said campaign was overrun with nazis.
