That cabinet is what we used in ancient times to hold our CDs. Ya know those round things that played music before we streamed it. 🤣

Yes! I'm into the black windows and the couch is perfect. I actually really liked the wall hangings you used before. V modern/boho-ish.
Absolutely love a black accent in a light room, the contrast can do amazing things. Add a pop of live green and you get an amazing fresh feeling PLUS a living space that always looks put together but its comfortable and livable too. You look like your related to the Olsen family!

I painted the wood trim on the sliding door to my deck a few months ago and I love it! It’s like Macennas window in the fact that it has the white trim border around it. It actually looks way better than the old brown wood.

Absolutely PERFECT makeover! Neutral colour scheme looks so modern and fresh while the wood table tops bring in warmth and life. Good call on painting the inner window frame black as well. Wish Canada had Home Goods stores because those textured lumbar pillows are so amazing!!

I can honestly say what a great feeling it is to get fresh furniture and to upgrade your things. Sometimes I have to get the cheaper options at first because it’s difficult and expensive to get what I really want but when you finally work hard to afford the items you really want it can totally change your attitude towards a space! So happy for you! Everything looks wonderful ☺️

I definitely love the transformation'; it feels soft, warm and hip - just a comfortable, bright space to chill - anytime of day or night.
Stunning, especially the coffee table! But am I the only one who thinks the artwork on either side of the fireplace are too large? I think sconces would look better. Anyways, great job!
I agree, the art is too long and just a bit too wide.
I'm curious how the original macrame pieces would look instead of the too large art. The art competes with the TV, so I think something other than art on either side. I 've noticed that designers are against duplicate couch pillows because it gives the impression they came with the couch and that somehow is undesirable. My last thought is a furry throw on the couch would look less messy than something soft and go nice with the furry chair, but in a different color.

This is made to be photographed for a design magazine! I love how it's all in the same/similar colour families but not alienating or cold. I'm not good at matching and complementing colours so I think it's amazing that you have that innate ability to warm up neutrals and any other palette without it looking harsh. I absolutely loved the dark window frames, and the coffee table was just genius! Watching you cut and put it together was glorious! A really fave detail was Kinsley matching everything in the room 😄 I love how peaceful he looked while napping, almost like he'd done all the hard work lol. Thanks for always inspiring people to be more creative and to think outside the norm about design. I'm sure it takes a lot to do all of this, I appreciate all the hard work and you sharing your ideas with us. Can't wait to see the makeover on the wood cabinet!😍❤

I clicked on this video looking for living room ideas, and was totally caught off guard. This living room makeover is so dope and your creative abilities and talent is even doper. Never even heard of F & S, until now. When you said that your dad made the side table for you, I said to myself, "now, I see where she gets her talent from". This living room photo should be in a magazine. You got mad skills! I got so much inspiration from this video, I had to subscribe!
I actually painted all my old windows in my 1940s home black, knowing we'd eventually replace them anyway. Anyways we just got brand new windows and we ended up getting black ones because we loved it so much!

All your work paid off and is well thought out, your living room is stunning. And thank you, thank you, thank you for mitering the cuts on the molding for the coffee table, instead of a cross cut. I’ve seen so many diy’s where a cross cut is used making the work look unfinished. I can’t imagine how much time it took!

I just did the trim and window frames in my bedroom black!! I've been obsessed with black windows since I was a kid. I love mid century modern or industrial modern. That's why I love an eclectic boho modern look so much! I love all home decor really! It just depends on the space. Either way your style is gorge and suits you perfectly!!
