Think about how tough the Eastern Conference was in the 80’s.
Dr J Sixers. Bird Celtics. Moncrief/ Johnson Bucks. King Knicks. Jordan Bulls. Bad Boy Pistons. Barkley Sixers.
These teams all beat the crap out of eachother all season and into the playoffs every year.
And the rested Lakers were waiting for them in the finals.
The Philly - Boston rivalry from 80-84 was vicious. Don’t forget it was the Sixers who got to the finals in 80,82,83.
