Hi Hopefully this helps all the people that have requested my updated recipe many times, just the boring bits video but most essential 🤩🤩 I will be posting my varnish video soon also, an easy no fail finish to your art 😆😆
Thank you so very much Gilly. This did help me to see my paints were way too thin for this kissin technique of yours. Lol. Will give it another try. Thanks again for your time and fun personality along with your painting talent
Gilly, Can't tell you how helpful this video is. I have been getting so confused and depressed with all the recipes out there I almost got to the point of quitting! I know there are different recipes for different techniques and I am sure you have the simple answers for beginners like me on your channel. So thank you from my heart! Love what you do, I am an avid fan. It also helps that we live in the same general area.
Perfect timing! I've had a batch of Mont Marte paints and their glue and have not attempted to mix them yet. I've been chicken! Today is the day! This was so helpful! Thank you!
Thank you Thank you!! The best thing that I got out of your tutorial was when you showed that the popsicle stick will stand straight up in the Balloon Kisses pouring medium and then slowly tilt to the side. That was an AWESOME thing to show and really helps me to understand about the consistency. And that in the Dutch Pour pouring medium, the stick will tilt to the side right away. I think that I am going to be able to give this a try now!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS TUTORIAL. From the US....... YOU ARE AWESOME!
So glad you did this. I worked up all my paints for your kiss and blow and didn't add Floetrol! I just thinned with water. I must have missed that in the recipe.
Thanks for all that information. My paint was to thin in one lot. And just right in the next. Then to thick the third time. I will definitely have another go. I've done thee good canvas so far.
I KNOW I SAID THIS BEFORE I HAVE WATCHED A LOT OF DIFF ARTIST AND YOU BY FAR ARE MY FAVORITE. SO PLEASANT ALL THE TIME, MAKE SURE PPL UNDERSTAND HOW YOU DO YOUR ART. SO INSPIRATIONAL. THE WORLD WOULD BE A MUCH BETTER PLACE IF MORE PPL WERE LIKE YOU IN IT. GOD BLESS I TRIED THE BALLOON KISSES AND THEY TURNED OUT AMAZING THANK YOU SO MUCH. EVERY DAY I GO THROUGH AND FIND YOUR VIDEOS SOME OF THEM I WATCH A FEW TIMES
Tutto molto bello, spiegato benissimo.I tuoi quadri sono un inno alla gioia. Farò test prova con i prodotti che troverò qua nel nord Italia. Un abbraccio.
Thank you so much Gilly! I absolutely love your work and am inspired by your videos every time I watch one if them! I hope you are keeping you and your hubby safe & healthy! God bless you and yours 🌻🦋🎨🖌
Your explanation is just superb and you are to the point. . I had difficulty in getting the right consistency, but after this video it has made it a lot simpler. Thank you very much and God Bless You.
Thank you for sharing your way of making your pouring medium for your original balloon kiss & card slide! Gilly hope your well and same with your family, stay safe! Sending positive vibes your way. Peace love dream's!🇨🇦 💞🌐📷📽️⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐🌏💙🌍💜🌎🌄🕊️💕🌌😉
Brilliantly simple explanation Gilly! I think I'm lucky that I've always used a similar consistency and never had a problem with balloon kisses! Thank goodness for that as they have saved many a pour from being scraped 😳😂💕
Awesome tutorial! Thank you for sharing your knowledge and talent! I have been watching your work and learning from it for a while now. Very helpful information...
Love the way you do it I do the same and go by feel when stirring not the mounds ,I do have a question gilly can I use varnish clear that you would put on wood on my canvass again thank you for all Yr info makes it easy to enjoy what we do and coming close to that big 100 watchers 💕
Thank you so much! Always love your videos! I was happy to find that Amazon has the monte mart PVA clear glue! Elmers glue or has become quite expensive and hard to find in Florida. 🤍
Thank you Gily, your video was so helpful. You explained things clearly and easily for me to follow. I just LOVE the colours you used , the fluoro orange, purple and your berry delicious, the painting came out just stunning. Please keep making these easy to follow informative videos, from a beginners point of view, these videos help so very much. Again many thanks. P.S I am still trying to perfect your berry delicious colour, I know I will get it! Regards Tamara
THANK YOU SO MUCH for the information! I just started pouring and my paint has been much too thick. I’ve used Flotrol but had no idea what I was doing wrong. I’ve been trying to do your balloon kisses and they were a mess. Too thick
So beautiful. Please recommend what butane torch and fuel you prefer and where you purchase it. Thanks w Roxanne, what are the dimensions?, what are the dimensions?
Thanks for the instructions Gilly. I use "Wood Glue based PVAc" That PVAc label on the adhesive product label is important when using adhesive for pouring paints. More info on Google PVAc.
Thank you for so many wonderful videos. Your art is gorgeous and really makes me want to give this a go. I just have a query about your white. I noticed you have white in a cup when you pour but also white in a squeeze bottle. Are they the same recipe in both?
Brilliant . Popsicle stick helps so much. My kisses & lacing didn't work. I think as is was Dutch pour mix!! Do.This mix is thicker??? Love the kisses picture!! Thanks. Joyous art 😍😍😍
Thank you very much for this video. I’m just wondering how you mix your base paint and does the base paint consistency matter for the balloon technique ? Love your work !! 😊
Join Gilly's FB page, it's a lovely helpful, uplifting group to belong to. Also Gilly has all of this information in the dropdown box just under the SUBSCRIBE section. If you click in the right hand corner on the "v" symbol you will find all of the products used listed. Hope this helps 🤗💕
Thank you so very much, Gilly!! I appreciate the tutorial on consistency. Do you mind sharing what the recipe is for the black you swipe with? Is it a bit thinner?
What can I use in the USA to come close to your ratios and also paints? I use Alot of different brands of paint and you're right about consistency. Your art is so breathtaking I wanna learn how so bad. Any advice you could share with me?
You're right, it can be confusing when paints are different consistencies but that's the way it's always going to be so I suggest you aim for the mixed consistency using Gilly's recipe as a base/guide. For me I would put in the 1 inch of paint and the 1 inch of PM plus the Floetrol, you will soon get to know what the "feel" and look of the correct consistency is. Gilly describes it as leaving a small trace, so if you drizzle yr mixed paint back into the cup you will see it leaves a pattern just for a little while before settling back into the cup. Once you have this right it is just a matter of getting to this with each paint eg: if at the end of mixing, your paint goes straight back into the cup with no trace then it is a thinner paint and you will need to add more paint. If when mixed it leaves a mound, it is too thick and you would add water just a few drops at a time. Usually, the more expensive paints tend to be the thicker ones. A good idea is to join Gilly's FB group as lots of members will be more than happy to answer yr questions. Hope this helps 🤗💕
Hi Gilly, I couldn't figure out a way to ask you a question on your facebook page so here I am asking here. I was wondering if Aussie floetrol has a shelf life? I have had mine for 1 1/2 years and it isn't making cells as it used to. It's kept in a cool room and the air is squeezed out when I put the cap on.
Hi Gilly, thanks for the video, I made notes all the way through ✍️ Just a little question, you referred to your mix for a dirty cup pour using silicon oil & no floetrol, is this mix the same for a swipe?
@@gillykubeart so should it be much thinner for swipes? I ask because I seem to either really succeed well with swipes or really suck at them. I just need to know for my own peace of mind haha because I can’t seem to remember what I’ve done when they’re great
@@mareeback5594 it can be thin or slightly thicker for swipe depending on effects you want, if you do a thinner mix you do have more change of paint colour mixing into mud, but also can be great if few colours used. I like to swipe with a little thicker like consistency in this video 🤗🤗
Gilly I love your work. But I have a question. On this piece did you put down a white base? And was it the same pouring medium you use with your colors only with white?
Hi Joshua! Did you get the Glue All or the school glue? I've been so tempted to try the School Glue as they never have stock of the Glue All but I've been burned before with a gallon (4ltrs 🙄) of a clear glue that cracked all my paintings! Thanks, Di

Glad it was helpful!
Love your work!! New to this...can resin pigment (mica and resin) be used as a base colour?
im not certain as i haven't done that myself
Gilly, Would this mix be a good thickness for swipes, kisses and blooms. With dutch pours would you make it thinner. Regards Glenis
Thankyou, a great help as usual from you

usually put same paint down as im pouring with :)
Where do you get your glue in the clear bottles from from? I get Elmer's its so expensive here in Sydney.
The mont marte clear glue is from www.caprioleshabby hic.com.au 😆😆
Do you recommend using clear glue instead of the white glue? It seems that the white would kind of mute the colors some.
no it dries clear
Thank you !!
No worries!
Do you use the same measurements for your white base coat?
yes :)
Do you have to use distilled water?
Can I use mica powder for this
Do you use a pillow paint before you add the colors that contain the pouring medium? If so, what is in it?
just acrylic with my pm as listed under video in description :)
Hi Gilly can you please help me start using your products what should I buy & where
