This was one of the best half-hours I've spend on RUclips in quite a while. Thank you both for this. Two of my biggest watch collection influences of mine....as well as influencers of my channel.....in one video. Fantastic.
@@islandwatch you seem like a really down to Earth gentleman and TGV is such a classy guy as well, I really hope you do more videos like this in the future because I enjoyed every second, thank you.
Hey Marc, longtime fan and subscriber of your channel, I always enjoy your content and you touch on subjects that nobody else does, it's always interesting to hear the perspective of someone with a background in engineering such as yourself, you have a way of explaining things that makes it very easy to understand, it's much appreciated and lastly welcome to my hometown of Philly.
Oh how I miss the good old days when you could do things like this. I hope everyone is healthy and gets through this pandemic all okay. Thank you for providing a nice distraction and let me enjoy living for a while. 😁👍
TGV makes an excellent point regarding people "demanding" things-- whether it's via e-mail or otherwise... Generalizing, of course: there is a definite *lack of manners* inherent in people's attitudes these days. I've noticed it in MY country (the U.S.), but I don't know whether or not this problem extends abroad. Sociologically speaking, it's also why channels like *The Urban Gentry* are so important-- to go beyond watches and actually *demonstrate* what a lot of people are lacking (i.e. class & manners) in their lives! Thanks TGV, for doing this. And to you too, Marc-- for exemplifying the firm-but-fair *professionalism* that is more rare than it should be in the 21st century... *O&U!* ⤴
Hi Marc - really great to see you two guys together - both my favourite watch guys in one place and enjoying each other's company - what's not to love?! And one word that links you both - ethical. That's what keep us coming back. Stay healthy. All the best, Rob in Switzerland
Great conversation and nice to finally stumble on this video even after over a year since this “aired”. Nice and relaxed conversation between friends talking about their passion; watches. Thanks for letting us in 🙂
That worked very well. Naturally one can't agree with all opinions expressed by others but nevertheless I thought it was very refreshing to get such light-hearted discussion from two men who are very knowledgeable in their fields.
I found both you guys separately and respectfully watch and learn tons from both your channels but now to know your friends brings me even more joy ! I don't know how I missed this video till now lol keep rocking boys! 🙌🏽
Just bought a watch from LIW, I love these dudes. I can never exude the class that TGV has and I can never be as smart as Marc, but I can wear the same pieces! Old video but it always brings me joy catching a vid I missed. You guys are great and a huge benefit to collecting and learning.
This was a great interview. Cue the social distancing comments! 😂 I watched this on TGVs channel a couple of weeks ago , Thankfully the virus isn't the time travelling variety. Take care Marc. Best to you and your loved ones!
What a pleasure to see you both together! Learned quite a bit from you both over the years. Now if I can work harder to remember to buy a watch from Long Island Watch Co. Mark! And maybe even TGV’s WatchBox...
Excellent video ! I so respect both of you guys, honest, kind, and knowledgeable. The both of you treat the watch industry with such professionalism, we are all better for it. Take care and please stay healthy.
Both of u guys are fun to watch. You're both very informative. And it's easy to see the mutual respect for one another. It is very good to see that dynamic, especially when there is so much petty jealousy and disrespect amongst you tube video makers. I'm new to the watch world and have learned a great deal from you both. Keep on posting. Stay safe.
What a great interview and chat, this was like the horological version of a Graham Norton show, very entertaining and inclusive indeed. Just what we all needed during these trying times.
Two of my favorite RUclips watch channels together! Both of you do a great job of educating us not just on particular watches but on the watch hobby in general and the technical aspects of watch-making and horology. Keep up the great work!
I bought one of marcs watches and all I can saw is WOW! This watch is one heck of a watch it feels very substantial without being to big or too heavy it strikes a nice balance and I’m already thinking of an skx modded our build but that gonna be a few months as I’m enjoying this one so much! Thanks Marc!
Nice to see the two lads I watch the most in the same video. An obvious true friendship. Nice content and a great way to spend my time whilst ' Locked Down '. Cheers Mark and regards to Tristano.
Good to see you two together... Two genuine watch lovers in the watch industry, honest in opinion and appreciators of watches regardless the price and brands.
Two of my favorite youtube watch personalities right here. In these uncertain times, personally, I think affordable watches are the BEE'S KNEES, and I feel like the advice these channels proffer dont steer the watch newbie wrong on that front! Seiko, Orient, Casio and now Islander ... so much value in these brands! (Islander 38mm on-wrist this week, which I regard as my FINEST watch even though it wasnt the most expensive!) Thanks for the content guys!
Your comment at 23:00 about the difference in colour and in weight between stainless steel, white gold and platinum was absolutely spot on!! These comments make the salt of this type of medium, and it would be great if you could do a demo, a real demo, on this subject -- i.e. show the three metals side by side, and use an electronic balance to show the difference in weight between the models. Also, it would be nice to show in reality what "stealth wealth" really means, in a side by side demonstration of opulent luxury vs restrained luxury. Just my two cents, keep up the great work!
So great to see you both, together, talking watches. I first learned about Long Island Watches through the recommendations of TGV several years ago. Thank you, gentlemen.
Good day gentlemen. Another fun video Marc. It’s nice to share your interests and it’s obvious you have a solid friendship. Enjoy your visit away from NYC & BE SAFE GUYS these are trying times. look forward to future videos from both of you. P.S. I often wear 2 watches 🤪
This was a really relaxing enjoyable video to watch. I know that’s sounds weird but it was like just being in a cool convo with your buddies about watches. Thanks
Ditto SaleenDriver, Excellent Interview, and interesting conversation. Best wishes to you both. I am getting the urge for another watch listening to you both. Has to which one I listen with anticipation to TGV & Mark for further knowledge and advice. Thanks, chaps Superb.
Great video from the dynamic duo. Two great personalities. I love both of your channels. I can't wait to get that islander on my wrist. I still don't know why you haven't added a deep blue version yet knowing how much you love blue watches.
To the case point many people (perhaps only me?) don’t know that back when pocket watches were the only option you purchased the watch and then picked out a case typically separate manufacturers. I learned this while researching my great-grandfathers Elgin pocket watch I inherited and learned the value is in the case not so much the watch due to the precious metals used.
Hey Marc! How about an islander in platinum? with blue dial A dream come true :D Please continue with these contributions, it is a pleasure to see the two interacting

Do people disliking not realize this was filmed long before coronavirus was in full swing? Use your brains people.
What are you talking about? Yours is the only comment that mentions it.
Yes, it is odd how people do not realize YT is not a "right now" platform.
I think it’s more because people dislike TGV.
