One of the most beautiful pieces of music ever created, not just in video game music, in my opinion! I think most people who come here to listen to this track share the same feeling when they hear it: overwhelming nostalgia, a sense of wonder, and a little bit of sadness. The game, its world and the adventures it provided became part of our childhoods and this music takes us back to that place in time. I listen to this only a few times a year, because I want it to remain magical and special.
After seeing this, I went on a search through old boxes, and found my old Xbox Original. Covered in dust and the logo was barely visible, I cleaned it up, plugged it in, and put in Fable TLC. I swear to god the amount of Nostalgia I felt when this track played on the menu screen made me have the " Happy " equivalent of a Vietnam flashback. Lol
@@jaleisagrinkley2738 yeh because of this I ordered the anniversary game for the 360. Played it last night. And I still have my 360 for playing the mass effect trilogy lol.
The music of Fable might even be better than the game itself. Summer Fields absolutely is a classic in video game soundtrack history. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful.
A new company has fable rights or something like that. IT will however be just a card game like Hearthstone but hopefully a new company will buy it and bring back what the first game was all about.
The original Fable will always have a special place in my heart, and this track will never get old for me which is makes it special. It sounds beautiful, soothing, amazing, and relaxing. I always listen to this track when I get I want to relax or when I am studying. I would always just stay by the lookout and gaze out to the forests while listening to this track, like it would actually draw me into the game. It really is sad because no Fable game had this uniqueness to it.
Video game music is the greatest kind ever created. They have to be able to portray so many emotions endlessly without getting old as you play the game for hours upon hours.
Though, I totally agree with what you're saying, I fear most companies nowadays aren't even testing games for near enough as many hours as we are playing them.
I don't know what it is, but games with soundtracks like Fable, Halo CE, Dragon Age Origins, and Skyrim will always bring out the child in me. So many memories... I'm so glad I got into gaming, I feel bad for anyone who doesn’t have an escape from reality like a gamer.
This soundtrack never ceases to give me chills and a weird feeling of happiness mixed with nostalgia, almost like melancholy. Makes me miss being a kid.
I miss the times when video games summoned that feeling of magic in you, like Fable. It seems nowadays they just miss the soul and charm and too focused on the technical things that they forget that a video game is half art.
yeah. I still don't find any of that charm in video games these days. Fable was one of the best games ever to be honest, perhaps that's why it has been underrated. even in those days people played... other... games and never knew or heard of Fable. I remember growing up it was just my little brother and me in our schools who played this game. everyone else sort of never cared for it.
This and The Wings of Kynareth from the Oblivion soundtrack are just... beautiful to listen to. They have such a calming effect on me, and honestly, I think these tracks shouldn't be looked at as JUST video game music. They are much more than that. They are simply beautiful pieces of music.
I remember playing this game for the first time in 6th grade and instantly fell in love with it. I would just sit and listen to this song all the time. Even now when I hear it I get a warm, soft feeling in my body and I remember the fond memories of playing it. It feels like I'm coming home every time I do another playthrough.
One of the best series and best soundtracks in gaming. Talk about memories of playing as a kid. Listening to the soundtrack as an adult now makes me feel old
This makes my heart feel weird. I remember playing this as the age of 5. Those memories bring a tear to my eyes. Such beauty in music has never been heard
Fable taught me more about morals than any other force belief system, it showed me how evil and good actions impact you and the surroundings. I wish more games sent a message to the young generation in an immersive way.
@@retardedvelociraptor Real estate is a pretty evil business in general. Can have the same, or worse effect then homicides, or cause them, since when certain real estate schemes are in play crime can shoot up in an area. In fact crime and inviting criminals to rough up a place to drive it's value down for a buy is a common real estate tactic. Which has obvious long term effects. And while divorce in general isn't exactly evil, it really depends on the situation and reason, like you can use divorce as a means to claim half of someone's assets and money, which is basically just complicated robbery.
Fable's soundtrack will always have a special place in my heart, it brings me back to a simpler time, when you could just get lost for hours in a games.
The bit at 3:07, always sends a chill down my spine. I remember when I was at uni, remembering the good old days back in elementary school when I was playing that game. I remembered that rise of the flutes and I kept picturing myself falling in love with an imaginary girl, kissing her neck and laying in a field of poppies. Feeling like innocent children, far from the madding crowd.
Curious, I get it at 2:40 mark onwards. There's a quick uplift like a sort of crescendo with the flute, and then a sudden mellow decrescendo, which steadily builds up again.

Mad Yak The story itself for "The Lost Chapters" isn't that long, but the easter eggs and extra items it brings with it are really cool. You can find tons of stuff just by digging in spots or fishing in spots in Necropolis. There are also extra Demon Doors and The Oracle which is fun in itself because you can find extra lore and tips from them.
One of my all time favorite games. This theme has to be one of my favorites too. I probably put 800 hours into this game back in 2005 (my sophomore year of high school)
Fable songs, especially the first one's are very important to me because of my brother. He was the one and onlyy to show me this game when i was like..7? So these are like mementos or something to me of him. Too bad he died last summer...
I know that this is an ancient comment on an old video, but have you thought about putting your brothers name in the description and when he passed? Might be a nice way for him to be remembered. Sorry for your loss and I hope I'm not being insensitive.
Tell this isnt just the most peaceful serene peace of video game music. Sounds like childhood and thinking you can be anthing you want when you grow up. Here i am at 32 years old. I'm so glad i got to experience this game at lauch. This was my Skyrim when I was a kid 🤟🏿🤟🏿
The whole soundtrack to this game is outstanding. This track in particular ❤ Brings me back to a time of pure childish wonder and imagination. You can never truly appreciate youth while you're living in the midst of it. Only once it has passed do you realize the importance and impact it makes..
I randomly had this song in my head today. I couldn’t for the life of me remember where I heard it from. At first I thought it was the old pc version Harry Potter and the sorcerer’s stone, but it wasn’t. Then it hit me that it was fable and I knew if I saw the title of the track I’d know it. Saw summer fields and knew I had found what I was looking for! Such a great piece of music.
This short little song fills me with relaxing shovers, its so calming to my heart and soul . . . I just perfectly remember in my head that I'm a kid again running through the tall grass of a nearby field . . . maybe I'm playing or chasing a bug or something . . . I can't remember but I do remember the joy I felt . . .
This was one of my favourite games as a kid. I remember playing this as of age 4. But during the time I was never able to read so I couldn't read the title of the game. I just found out today that it was called Fable. This game brings back so many memories. The only other game that was able to bring me back really good childhood memories was Halo. Halo personally is my favourite game. Or game franchise. I would give fable a solid second. And I was really surprised to find out that's the person behind the soundtrack to this game was Danny Elfmen. That really surprised me cuz I know a lot of really famous musitions. So far. Y favourite is Martin O Donalle. Great song. Love fable
Sometimes when I'd play Fable, I would just stop and listen to this song. Same with Oakvale and such because this is one of the best game soundtracks ever made, even in the later games.
I know right? Fable 1 was such an important and big part of my life. I played it all through 7th and part of my 8th grade year. (over and over of course!) I LOVE thinking back to when I played it. Fable 1 is and always will be my favorite video game and the best of all Fable games. Finally coming back and listening to the OST's I feel like I'm back in my living room playing this after school. I love listening to these songs to escape! Just thought I would share!
I wish I could like this video more than once. This song reminds me of better days, ones filled with youthful glee, being with my friends, before we all went our separate ways through life. Before college, before work, before serious relationships. Every time I get to 3:12 in the video, I always shed tears of happiness. Remember to cherish the good, always. It never lasts as long as it feels.
I still feel like I haven't fully explored my emotional stance on this game since I grew up with it. It is one of the few that will catch me off guard even today.
This was the first Xbox game mom bought me in 2003. We didn’t have a lot of money but that was an awesome Christmas, because me mom and my brother all made a character and played. I’m here listening because mom just died yesterday and I’m crying my damn eyes out. I’m gonna miss you so damn much
I still remember the first time I got out of Darkwood forest and came upon the bright scenery and this music. It was amazing and one of the highlights of my video game experiences. Fable is forever a classic for how many amazing moments I experienced during the game.
My favourite of all the Fable themes from all the Fable games. Love the build up to the crescendo later in the track, it still sends chills down my spine. Powerful orchestral music.
This song reminds me of the joyful and magical feeling of roaming around in the world of Albion. The sun is shining on summer fields and people are cheering me as a hero. There is happiness in the world and all my troubles are forgotten. Despite I quit playing Fable years ago, listening to this song takes me right back to it. All I need to do is to close my eyes... and I'm back in the world of Albion, lying down on summer fields.
No other game ive played in over 30 years, has ever captured the feeling of becoming a character the grows through time. Not sure why this is not more popular? I loved how you start this game out as a clueless kid, until to grow to an adult, to eventually a an old seasoned hero.
I played this game in 2014. It was and still is the best game I played in my life. This song when I hear it reminds me of paradise with the ideal pure natural world. It reminds me of the immortal life when I hear it. My face automatically draws a smile without interference from me. Your friend from morocco
Ah man, didn’t think much about the music as kid other than that it was great. At 31 years old now it’s a sweet unsullied memory. Times were so much more simple then.
Easily my favorite piece from Fable. The mood shift at 2:50 is emotionally stirring that's for sure. Maybe it's just me but that's what really makes the piece stick out. It almost has an air of sadness to it at the end, as if the summer is slowing dying into autumn.
I was 11 years old and this was a present Santa got me. I woke up early and played it as much as I could. It must have been 7am or so and I got frustrated by the stealth section coming up the Bandit camp. I've never really experienced a video game like this since. The wonder. The intrigue. I played again recently in past few years and I still felt a little mesmerized. The artwork combined with the sound design is truly excellent. The mechanics, while abusable, are fun. One of those "you can't experience it for the first time again" experiences. An amazing game. The credits rolled after the final boss and I watched, I watched the entire credits. Then I stared at the main menu. With tears in my eyes and a smile on face.

There are also extra Demon Doors and The Oracle which is fun in itself because you can find extra lore and tips from them.
One of my all time favorite games. This theme has to be one of my favorites too. I probably put 800 hours into this game back in 2005 (my sophomore year of high school)
This game, man... this game.
3:12 I absolutely love this part it gives me goose bumps aswell for some reason tho
Best video game music ever composed. All the tracks are remarkable. Really helps me to imagine fairytail-ish things too lol
2023 and still a super vibe song. I love Fable
There's just something magical about this game, that keeps me going back to it every year. Ever since I was a kid.
This song never fails to make me tear up to the way the world's turned out
I remember beating whisper to practise every time.
This short little song fills me with relaxing shovers, its so calming to my heart and soul . . . I just perfectly remember in my head that I'm a kid again running through the tall grass of a nearby field . . . maybe I'm playing or chasing a bug or something . . . I can't remember but I do remember the joy I felt . . .
Good memories😌
Great song. Love fable
Danny Elfman actually just wrote the theme, Russel Shaw composed the rest of the soundtrack.
we share much in common my friend...
Tingles...
I have tattoos dedicated to this game, peace and love !
Dude that's so cool
this music make me remember so much things...😥
Your words really touched me heart
I still feel like I haven't fully explored my emotional stance on this game since I grew up with it. It is one of the few that will catch me off guard even today.
this year is the 20th anniversary for Fable
This was the first Xbox game mom bought me in 2003. We didn’t have a lot of money but that was an awesome Christmas, because me mom and my brother all made a character and played. I’m here listening because mom just died yesterday and I’m crying my damn eyes out.
I’m gonna miss you so damn much
I remember my girlfriend woke up one night super scared from a night terror, i turned this song on and it helped her relax and fall back asleep
I have done the same!
I still remember the first time I got out of Darkwood forest and came upon the bright scenery and this music. It was amazing and one of the highlights of my video game experiences. Fable is forever a classic for how many amazing moments I experienced during the game.
Absolutely stunning.
This game is gold. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
Fable 1 is truly one of the best games of all time
My favourite of all the Fable themes from all the Fable games. Love the build up to the crescendo later in the track, it still sends chills down my spine. Powerful orchestral music.
Best song in the game, imo.
It’s feels like you into the magical season of fall/autumn 🍂🍂🍂🍂🍂🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁
SPOT ON! this game was made with passion. You can feel it.
Beautiful comment man. Hope and pray all is good for you.
Look out point used to be my safe spot for anxiety. Thank you fable♥️
It still amazes me, how beautiful music this game has! My gamer heart is melting :')
No other game ive played in over 30 years, has ever captured the feeling of becoming a character the grows through time. Not sure why this is not more popular? I loved how you start this game out as a clueless kid, until to grow to an adult, to eventually a an old seasoned hero.
This makes me feel calm inside :)
I played this game in 2014. It was and still is the best game I played in my life. This song when I hear it reminds me of paradise with the ideal pure natural world. It reminds me of the immortal life when I hear it. My face automatically draws a smile without interference from me.
Your friend from morocco
This game was legendary.
No one has successfully recaptured the charm and atmosphere of this game. Not even Lionhead was able to figure out what made Fable 1 so good.
Happy 20th anniversary Fable! This OST is in my DNA forever
Same, stealth wasn't an option for 8yo kid xD
Fable anniversary ! :)
Ah the nostaglia pouring in... It hurts me in the heart...
I’m hoping to have this as my wedding aisle song. It evokes such good memories for me ❤
Iconic bit of music from our childhood.
This track is the best from all I think... It's so soothing I can hear all day
For those who are not yet aware: Right click on the video -> "loop"
Enjoy your stay ;)
You know it's good when it's nostalgic to people who haven't even played Fable.
ahhhhh.. childhood
This game was my life, man. No game will ever compare to the original fable, it was the perfect game, right down to the notes played in the music
Heard this in a dream and woke up crying.
The Fable 1 soundtrack ages like fine wine.
