Well done. I attended Estee School and I remember the old Hospital. My Dad worked for the Glive Theatre for many years. I am sorry to see Gloversville has fallen on hard times. But I am glad that I can still remember it's heyday.

The old Kingsboro School was the first school I attended back in 1950-1951. A lot of History that I can relate too in this video. Thanks for refreshing my memory. I moved to Kansas back in 1979 but my heart stayed in Gloversville. I lived there from 1950-1951 till I moved west in 1979. I could name most of the streets as the car passed them.

Very interesting my family is from Gloversville they moved there from Russia/Ukraine in the early 1900s. My great great grandfather brought his friend Samuel Goldwyn over as well from the old country.

I grew up in Amsterdam, but my Grand parents lived in G-ville. Nice video.

I grew up there and still have family ties. It's disheartening to see the state it is in today and it doesn't look as though it will turn around anytime soon. Sad.

Homes are beautiful there and the home sales are booming. I am moving to Gloversville from Florida. Those old homes with the original wood cost over 500k anywhere else in America. You can get them from 80 to 150k in Gloversville.

The demise is sad, but it doesn't have to accepted as forever. Revitalization is possible only when people are willing to stop whining & take positive action. I worked for 2 years on the G'ville Neighborhood Based Alliance project coordinating over 500 volunteers who identified major problems and came up with workable solutions. But when it came to actually DOING something, people were only interested in working on rails-to-trails & the Glove Theatre. Employment & Education reform are critical.

Hi Theresa, is there a location in Gloversville called 41 East Center Street? Just saw an old letter on eBay that was written in 1910 to a Mary Davis of that address.

When Gloversville was named Gloversville most people got their paychecks from the glove industry. It’s time to remove the L from Gloversville to properly reflect who does the paying now. You want to revitalize Gloversville? Quit your government job and start a business.

Glover didn't do anything wrong. Have a little faith.

a very good video...I lived in G'ville in the 60s...even then it was really boring. Luckily,I attended school in NYC.The only cultural event was the annual butt-kicking contest, and the Knesseth Israel girls were so ugly, even the tide wouldn't take them out.
