facts. 1 year ago I was 3rd on FTMO Leaderboard with £22k on a 100k funded account. Next month after withdrawal I blew the account lmao.
The sad thing about this conversation is that it’s rare in this industry, most are bragging about funding challenges, unsustainable lifestyles but these two professionals raised the standard. Great conversation, looking forward to a part 2 🤝🏽💙
Such a good conversation. Mark is right Waqar the way you interview is superb and very professional. The key bit that stuck to me was when you discussed why men get into trading, you mentioned about the feeling of being 'The man' to mask other insecurities in their life, this 100% resonated with me when i heard it and made me think that as well as the ability to help my family that this was a very big factor in me wanting success. Fantastic podcast, i hope others can see between the noise and tune in to a great conversation!
Few "mentors" nowadays incentivate traders to do things as professionals rather than gamifying the industry. Mark is the most real and committed person I've ever seen and truly is changing lives.

I am an ICT trader however I listen to Mark as a mentor any day of the week! People should listen to what he is saying and apply his knowledge! Mark is a real one!

Refreshing to see a conversation between two professionals addressing the real issues of the trading industry. Most people just wanna hear about the next best strategy with the quickest gains when in reality it goes so much deeper to becoming consistent. As always Mark is dropping many valuable gems from his experience that the majority of people need to listen to. Great podcast Waqar and Mark.
That study referenced at 1:03:00 which apparently says that after £60,000 ($75k) people get no happier, does not say that people are not "happier" after making £60,000. It is ALWAYS quoted very lazily by people who haven't read the study but like the soundbite. All that study found was the specific criteria for emotional wellbeing that people reported, like headaches, lonliness and a few others, there were only 4, seems to plateau after about £75,000. So that seems to be, in that study, the threshold for maximising the narrow criteria that the study proposed. It really does not mean much more than that. It doesn't even mean the people were happy. It just means that the factors that the study correlated with happiness (rightly or wrongly), seemed to be plateau around a certain level. And I mean, thats utterly the expected result isnt it? Obviously you do not need a million dollars a year to maximise for basic functions. But to argue that therefore, anything more than £75k is unecessary really missinterprets the entire study.
I think there was an updated study which put the figure at $120,000 (or £ I can't remember).

What a high value intelligent trading conversation. There is so much truth and professionalism in this. So refreshing to hear a conversation that is not directly related to making money trading. More-so processes, routine, and studying personal trading data to become a successful trader. Discipline is such a key word that Mark says so often that gets so quickly overlooked because it is not as sexy as making money.
This past Friday had a perfect setup for my strategy and I accepted risking 3% because it was an “A+ setup” but it ended up losing and I’m completely fine with it. Normally I’d hate myself for it but I’ve grown out of that phase and accept the odds that played out on a great opportunity.

Amazing guest. This is a great channel showing the professional side of trading. In the past few years FX has become such a fad and the industry is completely crazy. When everyone realized they can't make money with drop shipping they figured Forex was the next easy way. And unfortunately all the scammers & social media clowns came with them. As someone who's traded the futures/currency markets for over 10 years it's nice to see smart, responsible professionals getting screen time instead of all the ridiculous fakes.

I'm hoping to retire next year at 55. My goal this year is to be more serious and consistent with my investments I've been investing since I was 22. 2024 is going to be more serous for me investing consistently for the long term. starting to save for a house down payment. I want to invest more than $185k, but I'm not sure on how to mitigate risk!!💯💯💯
A good number of people discredit the effectiveness of financial advisors, but over the past 6 months I've had an advisor consistently restructure and diversify my portfolio/ expenses and I've made over $650K in gains... might not be a lot but i find myself secure financially.)
Hey there, I have been trading for about a few nonths now and just about every trade slaps me in my face. Nearly impossible for me to catch more than a few points. I try to do top down analysis and MTF analysis, but it doesn't work for me. I say to myself, clearly I'm in the 90% that lose money, so I open a demo account, do my analysis, then take the opposite of what I would normally take I know, it sounds stupid but I was desperate) and get the same result. I'm starting to feel hopeless, any advice for a struggling trader?
The issue is most people have the "I want to do it" myself mentality" but not equipped enough for a crash, hence get burnt, no offense. In general, invt-advisors are ideal reps for investing jobs, and at firsthand encounter, since Jan,2020, amidst covid outbreak, my portfolio has yielded nearly 300%, summing up to 7-figure as of today.)
Certain stocks and commodities are a good hedge againts inflation, however you need to know what the heck you're doing or better still, seek help from a money coach/invt-adviso/////////=

I’ve been trading for 10 years and tried every strategy you can think of. A few months ago a came across ICT concepts and i can tell you for sure that’s your best chance to make it as a trader coming from the retail space
Still he has never shown a single proof of consistency-profitability. How can we still believe in these people??? Yes his mindset is unreal but as a trader he is one more guru

THe ONLY reason to trade is Position Sizing .Period. As you grow the account you can add to your position , and go lower size as you are in a losing strek ( will be 6 in a row if you have a 50% Win Rate )

Very helpful interview. Some good stuff on mindset and mentality. Mark mentions a few times how you can't win long term with 2:1 or 3:1 but he doesn't share his preferred risk to reward. Is he saying you have to aim more for 5:1 + or is he advocating low risk and reliable wins at 1:1? I feel he is deliberately not saying so traders will see him talking and go buy his courses.
Hey, thanks for the comment and I will be replying to anyone for clarity of topics discussed. I didn’t say no one can do it, I mentioned that the majority struggle to do it and spend a lot of time in drawdown trying to climb their way out and this is reflected in prop firm stats data. I’m sure you can find a decent amount of traders absolutely killing it with 3:1 or 2:1 but exceptions shouldn’t be used to set an example for the many. Brother I don’t need you to buy my course, im not withholding any information to lure to my course lmao. To answer your question my average R:R is 5:1. I have now introduced a mechanical system for management which is doing better than this reward but it’s still early days so not tested on enough data. All the best and thanks for watching.

I was curious as I currently find myself in this situation in Phase 2 of a prop firm challenge and have reduced my risk to 0.25%. I usually take 50% profit at 1:1 to make my trades risk free regardless of how much I'm risking per trade. You're absolutely right you didn't say it can't be done. I was over simplifying your comments. Its the first time I came across you and this channel but enjoyed the interview and found out helpful. Thanks again.
