- Part two of a three part documentary focusing on J Dilla's life in Los Angeles.
On Saturday Febuary 13th, 2010 Stussy celebrated the life of brilliant hip hop producer and rapper James "J Dilla" Yancey, by releasing a limited edition tee shirt produced in conjunction with Stones Throw and the Dilla Estate. www.stussy.com for more details. Видеоклипы
the idea of the doc was to show the last part of Dilla's musical career, specifically how moving to Los Angeles effected his music. Originally it was suppose to be a simple five minute piece, but once we started interviewing everyone it was clear it needed to be longer. this was never suppose to be a full on documentary on Dilla's life. there were a bunch of people, who I would've loved to interview, but they didn't respond to our interview requests.
@sample208 this needs to be expanded into a full HBO special. Go interview everybody, show home videos, show the videos, show slum village, interview Keith Murray, Erick Sermon, Madskillz, Pharcyde etc.
thanks m8!!! looking frwd for part 3!!!
Nice! Can't wait for part 3
i love listening to ppl talking about dilla, thx for this doc. !
I have no complaints this was well filmed. Thank you for the info.
Pure creativity and soul. Thank you Dilla

RIP DILLA. Thx Stüssy.
It's nice that there is negative comments and/or flaming on almost all flicks on yt, but not here. that's the dilla vibe ;)
thats exactly what it is. he was close friends with dilla and when he heard about his illness madlib was emotionally upset. like it heart him too see dilla in the state he was in.

the only thing that bothers me is that you never get to hear Madlib talk about Dilla..maybe it's to emotional
I can understand that

LOL @ 4:35-5:11 sooo trruuee! i heard in a interview with ?ueslove that dilla's personality is exactly like that. and madlib is soo humble just like dilla.

God bless garth trinidad and chocolate city for introducing me to Dilla. What happened to "the wake up" show L.A?
Just think,if he was still here,he would`ve changed the game again! R.I.P. J Dilla
that Dave cooley guy described a dilla beat perfectly
@cheesewithcrackers my point exactly! Already when i saw the length on this one i knew imediatly it couln't cover it all! And i'm only about 10 min into it! let me know if they ever did it or gonna do it! 1 love from DK!

How many dope documentaries are free on youtube?
@cheesewithcrackers
Yea..they maybe should have stressed that it was only about his stones throw venture and mostly about his left leg of life..but that
shouldn't dog it down..
and plus it'd be crazy to get a hold of people like common or tip for interviews etc.
detroit stand up we love you dilla dillatroit fa life
@cheesewithcrackers
yeah i feel the same way because when ever you try to research his career it is 03 to to the present

@killu19 Thanks
It's branding! That Stussy log o never leaves the screen! Ever seen a real doc with a designer logo in corner through the whole thing! Some good info, but not a Doc by passionate documentary makers. Slanted.
ME See Unicron headchange DMC12
@TheMarbleIndex3000 haha thats peanutbutter wolf
while i respect the people that made these videos for making them, i kind of feel like they're a bit lazy in not really showing such a huge part of dilla's life, really the part that made him the renowned producer he is. like i'm a stones throw fanatic, but comeon you'd think dilla was only know for everything he did after 2003. why not talk to people like common, questlove, tip, show the huge part of his life as jay dee. so yea, i'd love to see a doc that really pays tribute to the mans career
One Person Seriously Disliked This Video?
