Great refurbish.!! I’m sure you’re aware but for those who aren’t.. under Buck’s lifetime warranty you can send a knife in for what they call a “spa treatment” for $10 and it’ll come back like factory new. Cleaned, sharpened, and polished.

The 2 Dot has Buck's famous 440C steel. They are truly great knives. Carried an old Buck for decades. Switched to modern tacticals for a number of years and now back to the 110. Just feels right to have it on my belt again. Nice job on cleaning it up.

Very clean edge. Nice work overall. I have loads of all kinds of knives. You know how it is. Knives and guns. Moras, Opinels, Barlows, Gerbers, Case, Uncle Henry, Bucks, Schrades, Chinese and Indian knock offs. Cheapo liner locks and so on. Bayonets and a few machetes. Thanks for sharing.

They made a smaller version of that, it was my first knife as a kid, my dad got it for me. Nice job bringing it back to life. That paper test was very satisfying.

I have a buck 110 that I’ve had for 40 years plus. I carried it every day for many years, it has a Nick in the blade where I cut a hot wire that wasn’t supposed to be hot. It’s a tool it happens. Thanks

Very interesting and well presented video.
I have an old Buck 110, so I searched out this video. Unfortunately, I have zero of the tools to try this repair.

Small steps to the moon. Don’t look at the whole repair, just look at the smallest easiest thing to do on it and fix that, make a plan and move to the next step.

Looks like that knife did sustain a bit of abuse lol. Yep, straightening a hardened blade needs to be done quite gingerly. Looks like we have the same knife sharpener bro. You did an awesome job on that knife 🍻👍

Thank you very much Viper6. Yeah it’s a cringe worthy process to be sure.
If that poor knife could talk imagine the stories it could tell. Thanks again Viper6!
P.S. that sharpener ain’t half bad.

Functional and worth keeping. No screws that can come loose and easy to sharpen with a pocket sharpener. Yours is a two dot manufactured from 1974-80. I carry a 1980-81 three dot all the time as I have replaced all of my expensive "super duper" steel knives that I stupidly spent all that money over the years. The three dot 1980-81 was the last year they used Bos heat treated 440C steel before switching to 425M and then 420HC. Both your two dot and my three dot have the thicker, heavier and squared off bolsters which I prefer to the new rounded ones. I always said the squared off bolsters are the masculine version of the 110 and supposedly Chuck Buck preferred that. Collecting these older Buck's is addictive. I also have the three dot 1980-81 Buck 111 all aluminum bolster knife which fetch a heafty price today. For further info type in Buck 110 History and you will see all the variations over the years.

    • @jeerrrrrrryyyyy

Lansky crock stick. I highly recommend them. Use very light pressure and a lot of passes. It will turn your knifes into razors.

Why!???? Sharpen the blade or fix the bevel on a knife before cleanup??? Lol...its not safe and don't make sense...clean, sand, buff and finally polish the knife...and then you fix the bevel andbsharpen this blade...
