Doing good Ludi, there's a lot more strength in that material you're using than the original .5mm thick sheet that tends to get massive stress cracking if you use your Rangie in the rough, unfortunately the extra weight is a penalty. Plenty of space in that engine bay with that tiny VW TDI engine...
Yeah definetly not doing so good on weight savings with that huge engine adaptor either 😁 however I plan to ditch the land rover rad so there goes like 300 pounds haha
great job Ludy, its going to be well built when its done, been a subscriber for a while now ever since seeing you on mikes channel, you defo come across much better on your own channel than when your helping Mike out at his shop, and i do like your way of back street mechanics, just as we all do, abit rough and ready but it always comes together at the end....keep up the videos

I enjoy watching your channel the how you solve the various issues that arise. Just a comment about all that grinding with an open plenum in the engine bay. Is there a concern that all that grinding dust from the welding slag could get in the engine and cause problems down the line?
Hi Ludi. Also coming from Mike's channel! What engine do you use in this green Range Rover? And WHY? Whats wrong with a nice Rover V8? Fuel consumption cannot be a good enough reason?
I'm putting a 1.9 tdi (alh) from a jetta, for fuel economy and more torque. Honestly the reason this seems insane is I didn't realize how big of a project this was! Didn't know I had to fully restore the truck before even looking at the motor. No time to turn back now haha
So far the best weldng helmet i used was an optrel solarmatic comfort with a airfilter what straps onto ones belt butt some fool stole my helmets lens out at work so now i must use a esab warior welding helmet, hell are they fast i was working on a grain rail wagons door i was working inside the wagon climed out walked around the wagon to the other side to check the movemant of the door walked back around and my lens was missing i hoped that person got a pain in his or her ....
All respect you want to do all the work yourself but these innerwings are a waste of time to make them yourself. You can buy perfect ones at Froggatts for normal money. Lasercut and very good fit.
Just checked Bearmach and it's 722$ to get them to my door (not installed) so I considered a day and a half of work and 70$ sheet metal worth it as I don't make that in a whole week!
@@ludwigseeley6359 At Fooggatts the innerwings without the lichtclusters are 125 pounds each. Unless you lice on Pitcairn island the postage is very good at Froggatts. I paid 25 pounds to get it from UK to the Netherlands. due to internet you can lok for good deals on sending stuff.
