I just ordered a pair of Khuno for mid light and a low light spare lens. I have a pair of Oakleys for my high lights. I was sad I couldn’t get the North Carolina blue lens with the Colorado strap. They said I couldn’t do that and since the Colorado came with a 13% VLT lens I got NC. Bummer I like the blue CO strap.
I’m 44 and more interested in improving grabs, spins and rails. Love it when I lift my goggles in the lift line after a nice jump line and the kids are puzzled and stoked all at once. Keep the videos coming.
42 and hitting every jump I can down the mountain; still falling some but learning more each time I hit the snow 🤘🏻 Though I do feel the pain nowadays the next day or three after riding hard.
44 years old and I have been riding for 33 years hard! Still throwing down so watch who you call old buckhouse!🤣🤟love your videos they have been helping me learn some airs and rails I havent ever thrown ! Never stop learning until your body says no 👊
Just the video I need, as a 49 year old dad who has just decided to evolve from skiing to snowboarding. One day on the board, and I'm already waiting for the casts to come off so I can give it another go! 😂😂
Hey Johnathan, thanks for posting up this video for us "older" knuckle draggers. I love riding the whole mountain but, I do spend a whole lot of time in the park. I'm only 55 and still get super stoked learning new tricks and progressing all the time. If I can remember all 5 tricks I will definitely give 'em a try at the mountain tomorrow, then again us "older" folks often have trouble with our memories..... 🤪👍❤️🏂 Keep yourself safe! Randy
These are all super steezy for sure! Going to the Mtn tomorrow and going to have to try hot garbage, lay down, and reverse carve as I don’t have those ones yet!
At 48 I'm still doing small and medium jumps but the snow spray might be my favorite...love making a huge cloud then coming out of it like you got tubed surfing. People have commented "I thought you wiped out!", ha. 🌊 🤙 Gonna work on some of these other moves too, thanks!
As a 50 plus year old this is pretty cool - 14 years ago tried jumps with an instructor... ended with me being flown off the mountain with a smashed Arm..One operation later im now sporting a Metal bar and some screws holding it together... But the call of the mountain is to strong so it was only a year later and i was back on the snow... except my jumps are tiny... lol so for me anything that keeps me looking fly and still able to keep up with my 15 year old... im in ... Great Vids Keep em coming
Great vid for us guys still being kids out there on the mountain even if our bodies aren’t. I love messing around in the park and mountain with my 11 year old daughter it’s time that can’t be replaced.
At 52 I don’t bounce as well as I used to. Will be trying some of these this weekend, appreciate the tips! Remember kids, an old rider was once a young shredder too. 😜
Dude! So sick that you made this video! I was hyped about it when you mentioned it in the live chat on Friday. I can’t wait to hit our local mountain this weekend and try these. Thanks again!
I like this. I'm 35 but haven't snowboarded in about 15 years. I think I can still send it a little, but can't go too wild. I definitely want to ride switch better. Even in my teens I wasn't very good at it.
I’m 35 and was hitting the steel for the first time last season without fear of dying. There was a bit of trauma left over from getting slaughtered on the rails at 19 that was hard to work past.
Started riding in 1983. Just celebrated my 67 trips around the sun. Spent the last 5 birthdays ripping Japan Powder. Not slowing down one bit. Shread till your dead.
I just got back into snowboarding last year at age 34… tried easing back into it, but the body doesn’t forget. I was shredding again like I was at 19 when I stopped.
i might have broken my ribs, ive been out for a week because of a shoulder subluxation and i want to go back this weekend, but my ribs have gotten a lot worse from when i hit them. do you have any recommendations or tips for what i can do?
Looks like your eurocarve trick needs a bit of work to get down. Maybe you should check out how to master it like a 40+ year old guy like Ryan Knapton. 😁
Wow...This made me laugh...but also appreciate the reach in demographics. 46 here and I'll probably watch this a couple of time!!! Thanks and keep up the great content!!!
no, a stiff one is better. Also boards with wide sidecut radius 9m and above are better than small ones. And finally it helps tons if toe overhang over edge is below 10mm, to avoid bootout when you do full leg extension. Avoid magne traction boards as they slow down the carve.. especially in soft snow
I think you could still hurt yourself in the lay back. The hip being below the knee is no bueno. Hit a bump in that position and you could mess your knee up.
Bro im 24 and been snowboarding since i was little, and pretty experienced park rider, but you make it sound like everyone goes out and tries to get better and tries new shit everyday riding. Some people got jobs that they gotta go to and cant get hurt riding doing one of their hobbies

@Alan Wrobleski full send or no send!!!
All about not letting yourself go, 46 and I'm headed up to the park today. ;)

I think you mean whether* you’re 40 lol but I’m 33 and new to boarding I can’t do any of these so I’m def gonna try some
I'm 27 learning as well and will definitely try some of these once I get the basics down
Love watching you throw these tricks! I hope to one day have these nailed. Thanks for showing some love to the old men out here!

One thing i miss about snowboarding. The wide variety and easiness of doing flat ground tricks and rail tricks. But damn if skiboarding isnt more fun
Started riding in 1983. Just celebrated my 67 trips around the sun. Spent the last 5 birthdays ripping Japan Powder. Not slowing down one bit. Shread till your dead.
When you KNOW Johnathan made the video just for you!!! 😍😎 🤙
I just got back into snowboarding last year at age 34… tried easing back into it, but the body doesn’t forget. I was shredding again like I was at 19 when I stopped.
Last time out I was practicing to 360s on flat. Mainly just spinning going down the hill.
this is exactly what i need lol, sucks getting old
Yeww
When will you get XL long sleeve black t shirts again with the logo on it?
Those tricks look so sick!!!
Any chance of a “senior citizen” discount on summer camp?
Lol. I am surprised you didn’t make me go film this with you to pose as your old person. Ha ha ha.
🤣😂
Awesome video! What kind of board do you use? Camber or Rocker? And which is better for these kinds of tricks?
3:10 40 year olds trying to impress their mom.
I was thinking the same thing. 😆 😆 😆 like call mom "HEY MOM I JUST DID A EUROCARVE!!" 😆
Check out Benton juggling at 2:40 in the background
😂🤣😂 thanks for catching that!!!

What was the song in the video?
After seeing you skiing and mono-skiing, for a next task you should try an Alpine slalom Board!!!
You still planning a trip to timberline this month?? Would be dope to meet you!

well said.. maybe Jo is starting to extend legs fully on laydown when he gets 41, fingers crossed

Nice vid , can you do 5 butter tricks vid? For us oldies 😉 😆

I was watching the stream when you said you would make this I thought you were joking
My dad needs to watch this he has 0 steeze😎
😂😂😂
If your dad is out there with you that is all that matters! My kids love that I ride with them.
i love goin up with my dad i ski and he snowboards
Sorry to here that your dad has no steez, embarrassing.
Johnathan, just out of curiosity, are you still riding the Marhar Archaic, or have you switched to something else? If so, what is it now?
To you “older people”! How dare you good sir! 😂 great video dude!
Im only 30 can i still try these tricks??
No way! Ski patrol will pull your pass for sure.
Love number 4. Always scared to get my edge caught😂
Are you wearing an ankle bracelet?
how old are you john? 45?
Me looking at the thumbnail: Did he mistype and is it suppose to say tricks for experts and not safe tricks 😂
Keep up all the good work
Dude what if someone linked all these tricks in one sick line!!!! Super steezy 😂
That would be dope!

small ski Evolution sticker!
Hot garbages are so much fun it’s easy, it has a lot of style and it’s low risk.

Let’s go 😂
As a 43 year old I can say with certainty my knee would explode doing a lay back.
JB, are U talking to me??? 🤨🤨
JK!! I've got the lay back down already tnx to U, and will use these tips for the other tricks bro... Nice! 🤟🏻
Why are you holding out on us?!? Benton has the best trick to impress our moms and kids @2:40
🤣😂🤣
I think you're way overestimating the flexibility of 40-somethings 😀
Hahaha 🤣😂
I think you could still hurt yourself in the lay back. The hip being below the knee is no bueno. Hit a bump in that position and you could mess your knee up.
Yea, I’m 40 still hitting big kickers, but any tricks where you bend your knees in awkward positions, no thanks
so is nobody talking about the bookbag on his binding....i need one ASAP lmao
But actually what is that thing?

Im early 30's and my back / tailbone / Knees are all shot after a few runs down the hill.
No one over 40 doing anything that involves laying back unless it involves beer.
Another great video!
Thanks bro!!

Not 50 just watching for fun

Is Benton sleeping behind you?
Yes 😂
What you called a reverse euro carve is just a BS revert to switch BS revert, no?
Toe side spray is definitely not a trick.
Depends on your skill level honestly.
Please don't call that a layback.
