She was 16 when she recorded Obvious... it was actually the song they used to showcase her voice and shop her around to record labels. She recently sang this live to celebrate 25 years of her debut album (an album she hates if you were wondering) and it was the first live performance of the song. She killed it 25 years after!
I dont think Christina really hates this one, I feel like shes intended to say it like that only bc during that time, her record lebal (BMG) wanted her to be Britney 2.0. with the album to sounds more POP than R&B (which Christina wanted it her 1st to be more R&B) And with everything she does that people would just ingores and kept pull Britney shits on her lol. Christina and Britney dominated pop music from like 99 to 06 or so. Christina and her Stripped album have been credited by pretty much the entire generation of pop stars that followed them as one of their greatest inspirations.
The single versions of What a Girl Wants and Come on Over are quite different from the album versions, so you’ve propably heard those single/video versions of those songs. So much fun watching you react to older albums.
The label made her hold back alot on this album...if you ever have the pleasure of checking out stripped youll definitely see how christina as an artists is and its almost a night and day from her difference from her debut Christina is one of a kind vocalists, musician, and performer!
Christina actually performed together with Lady Gaga, I think the press made up the story (as they used to do with Christina and Britney) (If you're interested, they sang "do what you want" together on the voice USA, you can find it on YT). There is only love between the two. When I used to listen to this album, I agree, I used to focus more on the first half of the album. I wasn't a huge fan of the songs after "love for all seasons".

Yeah like you picked up on: Come On Over was remixed for the single. The same also actually happened with What a Girl Wants, both including lyric changes. So on the original first pressing, What a Girl Wants and Come On Over were both the "album versions", then very quickly What a Girl Wants was released as a single and the song was remixed and all subsequent pressings of the album had the single edit (which is why that original album version is quite rare), then Come On Over (All I Want Is You) was remixed and released as a single (As Come On Over Baby (All I Want is You), so they added the Baby into the title) and the single edit was used on all subsequent pressings of the album. But because that was the last single, there weren't a lot of pressings afterwards of course, so the rarest version is the one with both album versions, then both single edits and then WAGW single edit and COOB album version is the most frequent edition (like it is on streaming as well)
I didn't know this! My Australian version has both original versions, then I bought the 2cd edition which also had the originals on disc 1 and the remixes on the bonus disc.

The two of them have made peace now and that's all that matters. People grow, change, and realize their mistakes. And again, that goes to both ladies. There is another version of Come On Over. It’s called Come On Over Baby, Christina pushed to remix that song and What A Girl Wants and both became funkier versions. She did new vocals for each!

They even performed together on The Voice and released that version of "Do What You Want". Perez Hilton was the perpetuator of that whole drama and caused so much distress in both of their lives. Christina is my favorite artist of all time and you will see her growth and artistry throughout this journey!
I was never a fan of Gaga during her peak back then cus she was SO overhyped everyone treated her like she invented eccentric looks when she didn’t. She may be able to sing but shock value is what blew her up back then. Not talent. Nowadays she seems to he doing her own thing. So I’m ok now but I couldn’t stand it back then. As far as The Voice performance, it was Gaga’s idea not Xtinas, even if Xtina agreed anyway…
chris and gaga were pitted against each other to sell tabloids at the expense of both artists, esp chris. however chris and gaga met years later, squashed whatever beef there was, and performed together. gaga, who had already listed chris as an early inspiration to her, enjoyed their joint performance so much that she asked chris to record it, and she released it as a remix.
It was gaga’s team/ label (not her) did all the dirty work to sabotage bionic and hence the “beef” but they went on performing together and I feel like they respect each other as artists. Anyway love them both

Gaga was coming onto the seen (or had by time Bionic came out), when Christina had released her electronic album she had been working on for 3 years (before Gaga came out, and released KGB which was electronic inspired) So Gaga's team/label/influencers jumped on it to push Gaga forward and crush Xtina/Bionic. If I remember correctly, the team mainly included Akon + Perez Hilton.
