Preservation Hall
Live New Orleans Jazz Since 1961
My boy on the bone playing as if he'll never play again.
Love him.
That would be Fred Lonzo, but I guess he left the group now. Sniff, sniff.
Not Black Guys, Not White Guys..Just Musicians making good Music Like it should be
Damn straight
What a quality Jazz band. Full of life and spirit . Briiliant
This is wonderful to see this band play this song and the audience clap their hands to this song.
Detroit's own Charlie Gabriel on vocals and clarinet. Charlie's a true living legend and a native New Orleanian (as you can plainly see/hear).
He was a saxophone whiz as well.
I was there back in 1989 and had a great time listening to this wonderful band. All the members were over 70 back then and probably most of them are gone by now. But the band lives on..
I have a wonderful memory, I attended a concert of them in New Orleans, on my birthday, it was great
Anyone can agree with me that music is a gift that no one can take from you
Music can be taken away. Immortality can't.
Antediluvian Clockwork No one can take music away from me in this life. It exists in the mind as well as in the physical realm so even if somehow all cds and means of playing music were destroyed, the tunes would still be playing in my head.
It lives on in others.
Music is here/hear and now. I am going to shout, dance and sing and do my thing in the here and now!!
Ti
Hey my uncle's up there jamming.....first time ever seen this... Totally great
which one is uncle
leave for NOLA to get married on Tuesday and I have tix to see these guys the day before I say I do. A must see EVERY time in NOLA. There ain't much real music these days but Pres Hall definitely keeps it alive in a big way!
Saw them on New Orleans. Best music ever. Love, love love it.
I saw these wonderful musicians today at my school. It was an incredible experience! I'm so happy I had the privilege to enjoy such fine music. I hope to one day find myself in the Preservation Hall.
This puts a smile on my face every time I watch it.
Amazing! I was in Preservation Hall last week on an ELCA trip! I loved it and I was in that exact room! I was even jamming out listening to this video. I am not going to be able to stop listeing to New Orleans jazz now. Thank you so much! :)
damn, it's therapeutic....my toe just has to start tappin' and fingers start typin'.... down in ole' New Orleans.........if you can't be there...this is the next best thing....thank you RUclips.
You are so right! :)
Vocals, trombone and clarinet all exceptionally good - thanks for posting
This is New Orleans Jazz
not its not
VERY FÌNE JAZZ !
This band doesn't sound like this anymore ....they've evolved and no longer represent the true, old New Orleans street style.
Oh hell yeah
'Preservation Hall Jazz Band' -so -thats- the name for what i love!
Hmm. Nice vibes! I wanna check this out in person. Love the gritty trombone lines. Dig all the horn personalities playing differently yet as a group. Setting looks appealing to me. Thanks for sharing, Preservation Hall Jazz Band.
I was here in 1993, they still playing great music!

Beautiful!
😂
Preservation Hall is one of my favorite places in the U.S. This is a great example of why. I live the trombone part. But, I may be biased, as that is the primary instrument that I play, and Dixieland jazz is my favorite music.
What a joy to listen and watch! I had a perpetual smile on my face the whole time.
I could listen to these guys for hour I love jazz
Vocals, clarinet and trombone on this number all superb. Thanks for posting!
You guys are so fun to listen to! Would love to see and hear you in person. Keep on keepin' it on!! You make me so glad to be alive in the here and now.
Visited that very spot in the 1970s as a kid. Mesmerized. A French naval cruiser was docked in town and the sailors came in to listen and watch. Also mesmerized.
I cried profusely at Preservation Hall and cannot wait to return.
Fantastic music, thanks for uploading.
You guys are AMAZING!!!!!!!!
I was here last New Year's . Worth it to stand in line for the ticket, but the Jazz cruise on the riverboat is great, too.!
Can't help but smile!
Thank you preservation hall.....thank you
Jazz music fantastic ,thanks for uploanding.profrfkkmusic🎺📯🎷🎼⛧⛧⛧⛧⛧
New Orleans Jazz the best thing in the whole world
This band doesn't sound like this anymore ....they've evolved and no longer represent the true, old New Orleans street style.
what an amazing group of musicians, I just picked up their album and was blown away
One thing I can say, Fred Lonzo on the trombone, is NOT a wimpy player at all!! Wow!!
Just saw the band at The Britt in Jacksonville, Oregon. They were one of the opening acts for Trombone Shorty, and no disrespect to him and his band, I could have listened to the PHJB all night. What great entertainers.
Soooo good!
The best of the best. Love it.
For those who are wondering why the bone is so loud, if you notice the camera angles, there are multiple, but every time it changes, the sound remains the same, meaning the sound is recorded from a stationary mic. The mic is probably situated right next to the trombone player.
I love this video so much, it makes me so happy❤️❤️❤️
I was in the Preservation Hall in 1987. That sound and that mood still resonates in me.
This band doesn't sound like this anymore ....they've evolved and no longer represent the true, old New Orleans street style.
I was there the same year - will never forget it.
Amazing show! You guys are the real Rock Stars! Loved watching you guys in NYC. Cant wait to attend the next show.
I AM LOVING THIS STUFF
So glad I got to sit in the hall and hear these guys before Covid shut us down....
Oh beautiful fantastic music! You bring such joy to my jazz-loving world

Caught the Tuba to Cuba docu last nite - A +
Beautiful Spirit!
Proud to be a New Orleanian. Just wish I could play too!!!
Saw em live today! Amazing people.
I only can say, despite of who is playing, they have the will and taste to play JAZZ. GREAT JAZZ. This is an excelente JAZZ, the best JAZZ.
CAN'T RESIST>> THIS MUSIC IS MY DREAM COME TRUE. MY BEST TO ALL THE NOLA MUSICIANS FROM VANCOUVER, BC, CANADA. I WILL BE BACK! HOPE YOUR BIRTHDAY WENT WELL.
Just so good, thanks for posting.
geez I will always miss Walter Peyton, he taught me how to play violin ...recorder, and how to really love and use music, earnestly
Welcome to Japan!!! I'm looking forward to see your performance at Fuji Rock festival.
i saw them live a week ago!! i luv them all
Great stuff, but boy is that t-bone loud in comparison to the rest of the band.
Fred Lonzo on the bone, awesome player, he almost drowned out Charlie Gabriel on vocals, probably due to the acoustics.
Just happy!!!
Now that is enjoying yiour music. Nice job
Can’t get enough
Good job!! Congratulation from Rome!!!
A big band I'm in, is opening up for them in Miami FL on Thursday.
