We just returned from Sayuluta and we were equally impressed, can't wait to go back. On the tail of the Californian storms the surf was amazing for photography! One important omission here - for craft beer fans - YamBak bar right off the central plaza has some really good IPAs and other options, and it's flanked by a couple of really good taco stands, from which you're welcome to "eat in".

    This is great,
PS: I laughed when you said "for groceries there are no big supermarket chains here", Thank god there are none, as that is why I would go to a place like Sayulita: Shop local , small and fresh.

Nice video! Sayulita is beautiful! Gastronomy in Mexico is amazing, Mexico is the best option in Latin America for vacations.

looks like a nice place. As for not bringing valuables to the beach. That goes for anywhere (including in the United States, even in upscale towns there are people who will steal). $40 a day for an electric golf cart, wow. That sounds like a great business to run. They are a lot cheaper to buy/maintain then a car, and they will last longer since you aren't going to be putting that many miles on an golf cart (vs a rental car).

Pay with cash where possible to avoid the shop owners losing out 3% to the credit card companies. Makes a big difference in the long run.

Visited Sayulita a few weeks ago. From what I had heard about the place, I was expecting much more than what it is today. The beach is indeed good, surfing is popular. However, the beach is overcrowded with chairs, tables etc.. The town itself is grubby, it is overrun with golf carts going every which way, and the beach on the north side smells of sewage and the sand littered with dog poop. It is most definitely NOT my idea of what an idyllic Mexican getaway is all about. It's past may have been a paradise cove. However, at the present time, Sayulita is drawing upon its past merits. Unless you are a surfer or a wannabe hippy, my advice is to steer clear of this place and find a much better place, of which there are many in Mexico.

@@Soleille777 one place to consider is San Pedro, just north of Sayulita and reputably as great as Sayulita used to be during its heyday.

😅 The prices she was quoting for most Everything were definitely to see if they can get gringos to pay that much! 😅

Yes the ones that complain about gringos ruining an area contributed themselves to what they are complaining about. You will hear them say the same to Nationals who will chuckle, but not for the reason the “gringo” believes

    Great Video 👍
    May I ask for help?
Might any of you have encountered a woman who walks around selling her homemade big cookie covered Cocada. She has a big wooden tray with 4 different types of coconut flavors she wraps around a big cookie. Very Delicious!
Might you know her contact info, Her Name, contact number. What day she sells them around the beach and beach front restaurants? I so appreciate it.

      All over the the world…
It’s happening everywhere. In Europe where I live. In North Africa as well. I haven’t been to Asia yet, but I’m pretty sure no continent escapes mass tourism hard price from globalization. Shame the system failed to make this world function in a way that allows traveling without denaturing the essence of a place. There is so many alternatives that the way it is done. But as usual, money over all…
