President Joe Biden said Thursday that three unidentified flying objects shot down last weekend over North American airspace were "most likely" balloons tied to private companies or research institutions, not part of China's surveillance spy balloon operation.
Biden, delivering his first public address on the mysterious objects amid bipartisan pressure from lawmakers demanding more information, defended having the objects shot down even if they posed no direct threat to the U.S.
"We acted out of an abundance of caution and had an opportunity that allowed us to take down these these objects safely," Biden said, also stressing there's "no evidence" that more flying objects are in the sky than usual.

This is not the military. This was on direct presidential order and using federal military force on civilian assets is treason and completely forbidden under constitutional law.

I know that ham radio operators will hang radio repeaters on weather balloons to see how far their signals will reach, so don't sweat this activity. Let the military and the intelligence organizations do their job and make the right decisions.

Can’t believe any pilot would fire on another aircraft without knowing what it is.
Any balloon owners affected should deduct the cost as a donation to Biden’s campaign.
As a fighter myself, if any flying object fails to identify its self via logo, text, vocal or radio, it becomes UFO (undentified flying object) and the jest has full resposibility to shoot it down due to safety reasons. And yes, if the ufo turns out to belong to a american company or a farmer, the money will be returned and probably recompensation will be paid on top aswell. Its all for peoples safety.
Safe goes with private jets, if a private jet flies over white house, it will be chased by fighter jets, and of it doesnt listen to them and fails to identify and follow instructions i will also be shot down.
