It’s the government that needs to stop putting their nose in it and just let teachers teach the curriculum in a way to meet every students’ needs. Now there are certain areas like inner cities that have terrible schools because the kids don’t want to learn due to all the violence and parents that don’t care about education. That has nothing to do with the actual education itself. That’s always been there but the parents have to decide if they want their kids to work hard for it. It all starts with the family unit. No supportive parents=kids not doing well in school and then a snowball of other problems.

It's pathetic but at least there are some organizations trying to do this. I live on Long Island and volunteer with an organization called Community Solidarity, which doesn't just rescue any food, but all vegetarian, and a lot of vegan and organic food, mostly from Trader Joe's and Whole Foods, so people in need don't just get fed but get good quality, healthy food. In college I was in the food recovery network, and would take food leftover from the dining hall and deliver it to shelters. Maybe there is something like these organizations in your area. If not, maybe donate to them if you can afford. There are also companies like hungry harvest and misfit markets that will rescue and sell produce from farms that isn't pretty enough for the stores to prevent it from getting discarded.

The fact is people in today's generation, even lower middle class have significantly higher living standards in many aspects due to technological advancements and social work programs than the past. Sure there are outliers, but thinking like bumping the poor a bit will lead to the middle class doing worse is absurd. Its almost like a situation where people on completely different ends of the spectrum exists(lots of people that barely get by vs some people who are owning billions and only getting richer) and certain people are afraid of change even despite that. The communism/socialism propaganda and fear is so high in the US that anything that is a helpful for the masses is seen as a complete change in government system. Fear of these things should be applicable only when the wealth difference between the poor and the rich are minimal. Which statistically, it is nowhere like that(eg: only top 0.1 percent of the country owns more than 50 percent of the total stocks, more than 50 percent of Americans living paycheck to paycheck). That being said, there's no obvious answer, but there are things that can definitely help, like lowering the military budget and defense spending, redirecting profits of private insurance companies into actual aid, making public college more accessible.

It’s ironic you say all voices should be heard when the dems don’t want to hear what the republicans say most of the time cause they whine and complain if someone doesn’t agree with them. Hopefully they’ll figure out what to do with all the food. You know for many years people say education needs to be changed but I don’t think it does. It’s the government that needs to stop putting their nose in it and just let teachers teach the curriculum in a way to meet every students’ needs. Now there are certain areas like inner cities that have terrible schools because the kids don’t want to learn due to all the violence and parents that don’t care about education. That has nothing to do with the actual education itself. That’s always been there but the parents have to decide if they want their kids to work hard for it. It all starts with the family unit. No supportive parents=kids not doing well in school and then a snowball of other problems.

When I was younger (around 8/9) I thought of this and never asked anyone why we don't do this because I thought it would be some "grown up thing" children don't understand
It's pathetic but at least there are some organizations trying to do this. I live on Long Island and volunteer with an organization called Community Solidarity, which doesn't just rescue any food, but all vegetarian, and a lot of vegan and organic food, mostly from Trader Joe's and Whole Foods, so people in need don't just get fed but get good quality, healthy food. In college I was in the food recovery network, and would take food leftover from the dining hall and deliver it to shelters. Maybe there is something like these organizations in your area. If not, maybe donate to them if you can afford. There are also companies like hungry harvest and misfit markets that will rescue and sell produce from farms that isn't pretty enough for the stores to prevent it from getting discarded.

The fact is people in today's generation, even lower middle class have significantly higher living standards in many aspects due to technological advancements and social work programs than the past. Sure there are outliers, but thinking like bumping the poor a bit will lead to the middle class doing worse is absurd. Its almost like a situation where people on completely different ends of the spectrum exists(lots of people that barely get by vs some people who are owning billions and only getting richer) and certain people are afraid of change even despite that.
The communism/socialism propaganda and fear is so high in the US that anything that is a helpful for the masses is seen as a complete change in government system. Fear of these things should be applicable only when the wealth difference between the poor and the rich are minimal. Which statistically, it is nowhere like that(eg: only top 0.1 percent of the country owns more than 50 percent of the total stocks, more than 50 percent of Americans living paycheck to paycheck).
That being said, there's no obvious answer, but there are things that can definitely help, like lowering the military budget and defense spending, redirecting profits of private insurance companies into actual aid, making public college more accessible.
