    Testosterone gave me my voice back after over a year of mystery ‘laryngitis’. Other life-forces that it resurrected were my ability to read and comprehend, muscle and skin tone (I was only 97 pounds from the ravages of menopause , but had saggy skin), TMJ resolved, loose teeth from receding gums, ability to inhale a full deep breath returned, the debilitating back, hip, and hand pain that plagued me for over a decade, the suicidal depression and anxiety faded away, shrunken lady bits came back to life, so many other things but the strangest one was the return of my color vision. The world looked washed out and dull. My marriage didn’t survive the adrenal and hormonal crash though but in retrospect, I see now that someone who couldn’t handle me at my worst doesn’t deserve me at my best.

      I'm so happy for you & thank you for sharing ...I'm 54yrs & post menupause I've been on BHRT 3yrs & attend a menupause Dr who hasn't a clue its all guess work ..I've veen tweaked so many times with doses over the 3yrs. I'm still not feeling balance or my best..
      I lost the quality of my hair I thought it was testosterone so stopped it for over a year ..my estrogen was too high & had bleed every 2wks for 7mths ..I had to figure it out myself it was too high estrogen.
      I experience tellogen Effliuvm 2yrs ago & the fluctuating hormones my hair texture has gone ,dry & brittle 😢
      Ive finally stopped bleeding reduced estrogen fixed that..I'm.on higher progesterone now..
      Yesterday I went bk on testosterone
      tiny tiny dose cos I'm petrified my hair will shed but I'm not sure if it was the testosterone or high estrogen or the stress I felt @the time was the cause of my hairloss.
      I did go to a dermatologist & he was not helpful at all barely looked at my scalp & said multi factorial reaons for tellogen Effliuvm but I also had mild/moderate miniaturisation on crown so basically AGA..
      Taking testosterone 14mths ago I felt alot better mood energy Motivation & libido etc.
      I just hope my hair doesn't show signs of worsing.. sorry for my essay 😊😊

    I’ve been on topical compounded testosterone for 7 years (and other hormones). I just got a pellet yesterday so I can try to have more consistent levels. Thank you for talking about this. Had this info been available 32 years ago when my hormones went nuts at age 31, I’m sure that my life would be so different. I’m grateful to have found a hormone replacement therapy provider after a decade of pounding the pavement from ages 46 to 56. I’m 63 now and while some of the ravages of the lack of hormones are visible on my body, I’m in the best shape of my life. Please keep talking about this important topic of hormones for women.

    Not true! FDA approved, pharmaceutical Estradiol in the form of pills, patches, gels, creams, lotions and sprays are ALL bioidentical! And you get consistent dosages, whereas compounded products vary wildly.
    That being said, there is a product called Androfemme that one can get by prescription here in the US. The challenge we face is finding a provider who will prescribe testosterone to women in the first place.

    For those of you about to write in comments : They cannot answer or give you direct health care advice. i.e. Dosage suggestions, delivery device recommendations, sourcing pharmacies, drug recommendations, etc. I doubt they're even allowed to answer your question with any answer BUT, " I can't answer that question ". So save yourself some time and call them, or contact someone locally. You're never going to type a question in the comments of a doctor's YT channel and get someone willing to risk their license for YT comments. The only answer you'll probably ever see is: ""Thanks for sharing your results" or "Thanks for watching" or something to that effect.

      OMG. Are you saying you taking 50 mg or 100 mg of testosterone a week ? And you are a woman. That is a crazy high dose even at 50 mg a week. I mean if you want to be a mega body builder...ok...but female body builders would probaly use 10-15 mg of testosterone and 20-30 mg of nandrolone a week if they didnt want too much masculine features.
      At even 50 mg a week; it is no wonder you have an enlarged clitoris

      Your dose was obviously too high its harder to measure the dose by injection..gel is best as you can easily monitor dose yourself daily & see how you feel ..& check your blood every 6 weeks to make sure it's nit too high ..its unfortunately not one size fits all...

      It is a crying shame they dont mix the T-cypionate injectables to levels like 10 or 20 mg/cc for women. The mens concentration is typically 200 mg/cc that is just too hard for women to dose at 5 or 10 mg. Injections are better for overall control and stability. I have tried the creams as an addition to injections and there are benefits to using both for men and women. But injections for main stability control of blood levels is IMHO much better. Skin absorbtion of creams can be flaky and unpredictable...one day good...and one day not so good

    • @tkdance1540
      @tkdance1540 8 месяцев назад

      Biweekly injections are way too far apart! That’s a big problem. Your high peak and lows are too big. Injections are the easiest way to manage testosterone but they should be twice a week in much smaller doses. This will keep your levels more consistent and get rid of your side effects. Instead of changing your dosage or switching to a pellet first try two or three injections a week. You will feel much better.

    Can you address the issues with compounding pharmacies? I’m sure you’re aware they have had instances where prescriptions were sent to a compounding pharmacist, and after several refills of the prescriptions, they had them tested and each and every prescription was at a different dosage. So unless you get an FDA standardized drug from a regular Pharmacy it is the wild wild West in the compounding pharmacy space and you never know what you’re gonna get one month to the next, so I would never trust it. What is your opinion on this

    • @drdebradurst
      @drdebradurst  4 месяца назад +1

      Compounding pharmacies are regulated by the FDA, state pharmacy boards and other accrediting organizations such as PCAB, ACHC. Need to find a reputable one. Our compounding pharmacists are extremely knowledgable and helpful in guiding customizing products to treat a patient or condition that has not responded to manufactured products. Manufactured means a large manufacturer on a larger scale and standardized dosing --so the dose cannot able to be customized to a specific patient's needs. Standardized in this meaning couple strengths or forms. Compounding pharmacies are still regulated tested and held to safe standards. We have not seen inconsistencies in the compounded products in the lab testing we do on a regular basis. Do your research on your provider and pharmacies and trust the relationships you establish. Hope this helps!
