Grew up near Boston. Went to a Celtics game, in 1980 or 1981. Bird and Dr J. had an amazing duel. One of many amazing memories from those first Larry Bird years where we could buy nose bleed tickets for $10.00! We always respected and feared Dr. J and the sixers. Those battles were ferocious and memorable.
thank you for doing DR J. Please react to DR J dunking on giants video. my dad took me to see DR j play in the ABA for the Nets. He was so dominate in the ABA and so popular the NBA had to merge to get this man in the NBA DR J is my favorite player MJ is the GOAT
Kids in the 2000s would pretend to be Kobe. Kids in the 1990s would pretend to be Jordan. Kids in the 1980s would pretend to be Bird or Magic. Kids in the 1970s would pretend to be Dr. J.
You probably study basketball history before you comment. All the players back then we be much better ball handlers if you were aloud to carry over the ball , euro step and travel like the players do today, The NBA want more scoring and a flashier game so they changed the rules to make it easier.@@HotSauce-mn1mp
Do you know that Dr.J is Michael Jordan’s Goat. Now be for real, who avg. 20 rebounds a game , that’s crazy. I seen him play. Rucker Park Kobe been down there Kevin Durant too. I think Kyrie Irving as well uncle Drew,. That’s who Mike grew up watching. That’s mikes goat!!!! Do the research then make a video. But look up all those dude’s names that they said was in the dunk contest.
Dr. J. was the reason many of old guys started watching the NBA. Nobody before him ever did what he did. Thanks for posting.
I'm a 70-year-old life long NBA fan Dr J is certainly in my top 10 all-time

Dr. J was all class. Everybody loved him no matter their race. He even mentored Magic and let him sleep at his place while Magic was still in college!

Yep. DR J or Rick Barry, Pete Maravich, George Gervin. My Friend always called out "Bob MacAdoo!" when he was making shots! Fun times
@@chrisbera7952 Kareem too
FACTS
best moment is him dunking on Cooper from the Lakers. You gotta understand that Cooper was a great defender, 5x all defensive first team, DPOY.
Another player that's better than Labron!
Way before LeBron
No cap he’s the original goat
Julius Erving was good but he doesn’t have the ball handling skills of lebron. Yall have to stop this dumb shyt

lol. “He didn’t even want to put his hand up cause he was about to get ished on.”
Magic was hurt and didn't play in that series. I cried dawg.lol
Actually Magic played. James Worthy didn’t play
Dr J is the COOLEST player of the NBA, imo.
He dunked on Bill walton, then Kareem, back to back there
J just did whatever tf he wanted to lol
And this is another reason why an intelligent NBA fan wouldn't sh*t on a previous era.
The 83 Sixers were one of the best ever, and DJ was the first superstar in sports.
BEFORE Muhammad Ali, Reggie Jackson, and OJ?
Wilt is the first GOAT. His stats still place him in the top 2 even today.
In the free-throw line dunk, Dr. J did not dribble, whereas MJ did.
Dr j was the precursor to mj
The only player today that has ever been compared to Dr. J is Giannis, and I see why.
GIANNIS???
