    Of course! Shelf brackets! I was brainstorming about attaching the cabinet front to the drawer securely. I considered making the front of the drawer the same height as the trash can and attaching it directly to the door, and L brackets inside the front corners of the drawer but ur idea just simplified all that. Thanks! Good job. For someone so young, you're uncommonly resourceful. Soooo refreshing.

      Thank you 😊 I hope it helps! I will say that the only issue I came across was when people don’t want to take out the trash and push it down too hard then it could mess up the drawer slides. I had the change them once before but luckily I have a lot from a previous project.

    Installing cabs and thought I'd just cut out the bottom of an 18" cabinet w/drawer and simply slide the typ trash can in there tile floor and all. Now I'm PLAM'n some 1/2" panels to put inside with a top to separate the drawer. This makes it all easy cleaning. So what if you see the bottom of the trash at the toe kick below the door.

    The use of brackets was a smart idea! I'm not sure why you used a scrap piece of wood on the top, though. You could have just flushed the bracket with the door and use shorter screws maybe? Just a thought. Great job!

    Wow, great job on this! Glad I found your video. Was about to pay $140 for the Rev-a-Shelf trash that is basically this same thing. Can do that for a fraction of the cost!
    P.s. there is another video on YT somewhere where the guy basically rigs a string to his trash lid so that when you pull the cabinet out, the string pulls the trash lid up, then it closes when you close the cabinet. That way you'd be able to have a lid on the trash and help with potential smells :)

    • @TanushasDIYHomeProjects
      @TanushasDIYHomeProjects  3 года назад

      I was also going to buy the rev-a-shelf trash kit. Lol but I’m cheap. Do you know what video that is?? I need to see this contraption:) When the cabinet is shut you can’t smell the trash but then again we have the 7.5 gal trash can so we change the trash almost daily.

      @@TanushasDIYHomeProjects Found it! Ha. It's this one:
      ruclips.net/video/BBZ3MDIjI7k/видео.html
      Granted, those lids from rev-a-shelf are like $20 each or something ridiculous, but it's the idea that I liked. I'm sure you could find a cheaper lid that would do something similar.

      Hey:) it is actually a “sticker” laminate floor. Like they have in rentals. It came with our house when we bought it. We will be taking a wall down soon and then we will redo the floors. The sticker sucks! My 1.5 year old some dropped his little truck and it caused the sticker mess up.
