As much as his credentials are impressive, black people don’t have to be Harvard graduates to be treated like human beings
Snapping every finger and every toe if I could!
Gold comment right here!
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Amen! We need to change the laws! Change the system of racism in the police departments
Exactly, every single black person should be treated with the same amount of respect as any body else regardless of their credentials, as Mr. Cooper's sister stated he wasn't walking around with his resume on his forehead
#FACTS
It won't make her a better person, just a more careful person...if no one was filming she might have gotten an innocent man murdered
If they had stayed at the scene (they both had left) the man may have wound up dead and the video/phone taken into custody and held as evidence. And his sister would at best be on a local news network demanding a fair trial for what she "believes" to be murder of her brother and for the "tapes/recording" to be released.
that is the general status quo for these type of events when the possible victim doesn't survive to tell their side of the story and its all left upto the Amy's and Police to tell us what that blackman was "really" doing that day.
i am 95% certain had he stayed at the scene he would be dead and the message in the news, by Amy and the police would be a complete 180 from what we see here.
Jason U Thank God for cameras, what is done in the darkness will come into the light.
@@jasonu3741 It feels so scary how true this reads
His presence of mind and calm rational thought are an inspiration. So pleased to see this lady held accountable for her tirade. Unlike Christian I’m not going to graciously forgive and accept. I think her behaviour was monstrous and I believe it is a window to exactly who SHE is and what the system is. Once we accept that truth... our action should be easier to divine. We should stop pretending that this is unusual behaviour. It’s systemic.
Denise Decarlo, Well said.
And BTW, her action was not "impulsive," it was CALCULATED.
Ex-ac-tly!!!
Absofuckinglutely!!!!!
Very calculated!!! She thought those words were going to scare him!
That is the impression ... histeria & calculatedly intension
YES MA'AM calculated it was!! It does not take an Einstein, but what can you say when some of them think we are stupid and less than importance in the quality of life.
Amy just apologized because she got caught.
WHEW YES MA'AM THAT'S THE ONLY REASON SHE APOLOGIZED. That's that Rosewood tactics being used here in today's society as it was in the 1950's and in the biblical era.
@Terrel Oliver I totally agree!!!!
Exactly!!
Da Bridgadier General: Agree, knowing if he didn't record it she would have stuck with that disgusting lie!!
Her name is Karen Cooper. Amy is now her middle name.
I like that his sister mentioned that every black life matters - not just Harvard educated.
@Medi Cogglet - Mr. Cooper is in his 50s, and his father was a civil rights activist in the 1960s on Long Island. So yes, his parents certainly discussed issues of race with him. He has said in other interviews that his father taught him and his sister to always speak up when they see wrongdoing. Your comment that "all that white adjacentness made him forget who he is to the power structure" is quite insulting. You bet he won't do that sort of thing again? Do you expect him to now bow down to entitled white people because of this experience? I doubt that he viewed asking some random woman (white or otherwise) to leash her dog as something that would lead to such a widespread discussion on racism in this country. However, some people are willing to take risks in the name of progress and the greater good. If everyone cowered in the face of perceived danger and never stood up for what they believe in, then no progress would ever be made.
TheLotusFlower I could be wrong but I think Medi’s reply was meant to be tongue in cheek.
@Medi Cogglet Except there will be no co-workers...she was released from her duties.
So if you ain't black ya life doesn't matter. You should no better

The police needs to charge her for falsely accusing him for a crime he didn't commit. What she gets is self inflicted.
Agreed. She should have to pay the bill for the time the spent on the call. That is what is typically done with false calls.

And the video shows how he was NOT threatening her life. Lying is routine behavior for Amy Cooper.
she might have got her way if he hadn't started recording her "white woman threatened by a black man" act. that ruse was the now infamous suzanne smith's initial cover story for the disapearance of her children.

You are right.

What she did was the new version of "that black man looked at me" which used to get Black men lynched. I don't feel sorry for her loss of job, but I disagree with death threats. Now they call the police and say "that black men threatened me" and pretend to cry or be in fear. Did you hear the warble in voice to try to get the police to send someone right away? She should be charged with calling 9/11 inappropriately and calling in a false report.
Exactly! That's why I don't accept her apology. It's too dangerous to move that way.
Not just charged or fined, but also incarcerated. Too many innocent black men have been hauled away to jail based on the lying testimony of white women
Her calling the police on him is a death threat lol
Keith Bell The calculated way that she play-acted being afraid & accused him of threatening her life without a second thought, was chilling. She’s both dangerously racist & dangerously devoid of empathy. I know she’d likely be charged with false reporting, at worst, but what she really did was closer to attempted murder. He may be physically ok, but this kind of trauma causes long term harm. I agree that her consequences should at least match the damage she inflicted.
Yes, people who make false 911 calls should get punished. It is a ridiculous waste of resources. The only thing that bothers me here is that this poor dog got yanked out of his forever home and sent back to a shelter. That breaks my heart! Her job loss doesn't really bother me. And the outcome could have been very scary if police had gotten involved. So sad...
She knew what she was doing when she changed her voice to sound frantic.
She also is not sorry that she did it; she is sorry she got caught on a national media scale.
she sorry because she afraid she lose her job. apparently she forgot about that in her job training lol. it should be in company job training, at least i remember it in my former job. too bad, it blown up so fast and large, bye beach

A moment of her poor judgement could have taken his entire life, while he's trying to feel sorry for her.
That's typical of us black people, too quick to accept apologies from these racist person or people who could have caused his life within 10mins of that encounter. She executed her white privileged rights and falsely weaponised her tears. @@firesign4297 I did not know there was one. Where do I find it? Do you have a link? Thanks you.
Amy Cooper isn’t sorry at all. In her “apology”, she claimed that she felt threatened. That was a blatant lie and disgusting excuse. A threatened woman will have ran away. Not stood there to be “threatened”. The tone of her voice changed when she was making the police call. To her, the police served as a weapon. She is a horrible person and who is not the tiniest bit remorseful about her actions. Her “apology” is all about damage control and a feeble attempt to justify her actions.

she made up that whole scenario in her mind. with tone change to sound distressed or traumatized. and she broasdcast the whole thing letting him know that she was going to call the cops and tell them what was (not) happening to expressly ensure his life was in imminent danger.
Matt W Right on. She turned on her, "I'm a white woman in trouble from a black man" voice---let the avalanche of consequence crash down upon her.
That was NOT a moment. The fact that she immediately went there means that is in her heart and her head. The fact that she even had the nerve to claim false assumptions when he was not remotely threatening her life yet then had the nerve to follow up and call the cops was ridiculous
He threatened her dog. Many people are very attached to their animals. He tried to call her dog to him. Imagine if it was her child he offered a treat to. And if you wonder why she was mishandling her dog, at that point she was scared and not thinking straight.

Its admirable that he wants to accept her apology and not let that moment define her but come on isn't that what black people do all the time? Look where it's got us George Floyd RIP and all the others all the way back to Rodney King.
Maybe we need to start making people accountable for their actions, death threats no but I think the punishment of losing her dog and her job fits the crime so next time she wants to use her white privilege I think she will defo think twice people. Now she can find peace with her self that there are issues deeply in need of derooting. Because there's a new tomorrow for our culture and this will not be stood for. Mark as a training video as we bridge the gap to equality for all humanity
This woman is despicable... my stomach turns when I see people like her..
Let's stop offering forgiveness so easily. All that does is enable that disgusting behavior.
Yes!.Im so sick of the "I forgive you type!..it appears to come with the more educated ones. To me, they are the worse!
He was minutes from losing his life..and cumbyya..shows up in a blink of any eye..so sick of it!
EXACTLY!!!
IKR - apology NOT accepted😠
I agree 100%. I just watched an interview with the author George RR Martin, where he said that despite Michael Vick’s many apologies and the fact that he served time, he (Martin) will never forgive Michael Vick. So why should we as Black people be so quick to forgive? Amy Cooper broke the law, by making a fake 911 call, and potentially endangered Chris Cooper’s life. All she offered was a half-hearted apology.
Agreed.
His reaction was crude, feeding the fire,of fear An he loved it
What an awesome and beautiful human being you are Christian Cooper. Thankyou for showing us, Thank you for standing your ground. " I will not participate in my own dehumanization "
Powerful words to reflect on
Much love and respect to you 💕
He is a kind man with a good heart but she deserved all that she got.
The cops should have also set an example by charging her for making a fake call
I for one am happy to hear that a company set a policy, their mission statement and stood by it. So many rules, laws and policy are made regarding racial injustice and not honored. This is a good start to set the right stage. I find it ironic that a white woman in central park falsely accused a black man in central park at this particular time in history. I recall 5 young men losing their youth, their Hope's, family from being falsely arrested for assaulting and rapping a woman in central park. Ironic.
Stig Weard 🙄🙄🙄. She is a Racist!!
@Kendra wyatt he easily forgave her because he didn't explain the entire conversation between them before the camera started rolling. Go check his Facebook he has a transcript of what he had said to her first. He threatened to do something to her dog.
Absolutely!!!
I do not feel sorry for her at all. Happy she lost her job.
Bye Felicia
Problem is Cooper feels sorry for her
She should have been charged for falsely accusing him.
@@brooklynbred1460 probably because he is intelligent.
Looks like the poor dog is being strangled this whole time. Thank you so much for highlighting how these situations happen
"There's an African American man who's threatening my life". Clearly she's threatening herself and that beautiful dog.
"I'm not going to participate in my own dehumanization" - Christian Cooper 2020
That statement really stood out to me too. 💔
You can tell her apology was trash the way she called him “that man”.
....an African American man is attacking me....WOW lady!!!
Invisible Man, by Ralph Ellison. True then. True now.
I saw that. She’s still white privileged in denial. Thinking I did nothing wrong and he cost me my job.
She should absolutely be charged with a hate crime and a felonious intent to have bodily harm perpetrated upon Christian by way of law enforcement. All so they can frame him with suicide by cop.
After getting caught
I didn't hear "that man" in her apology. She called him by name, as per Sunny's quote. Where did she say "that man"?
I love how whoopie rolled her eyes when Cooper started making excuses for her.
Thank you so much for your thoughts; yes, we SO need this!
Very well spoken man. Everything he said was spot on, I admire his attitude about the situation. The lady should not be getting death threats but actions have consequences.
Charged fine her jail time some classes
She tried to have him murdered.
She deserves death threats, she tried to have him killed.
@@velmabonner7212 - No, she was simply hysterical and her actions COULD have lead to a death IF a racist cop arrived and completely botched his duty and training. Yes, that has happened, but let's not pretend that is the rule rather then the exception.
@@BB-qk8on - Please. If you want to become the very thing you hate, then please go ahead and continue with this type of nonsense. And further divide us all while you're at it.
Shouldn't there be charges filed for falsely using 911?
"If you're going to do what you want, I'm going to do what I want, but you're not going to like it." - Christian Cooper before recording
It's all over the place, all the way in Arizona. Thank you for posting this video. Keep shining the light.
She did not make ONE bad decision, I count at least three: first, she decided that she was somehow 'above' the dog leash regulation; second, when she was politely asked to comply, she turned aggressively on the man about his right to film their conversation; and most seriously, she lied to the authorities to try to get this innocent man into trouble. This does not sound like someone who just 'had a bad day', it looks more like someone who's used to using deceit and manipulation to get what she wants and to avoid taking responsibility for her actions.
That's not what happened. Find out the whole story which the man conveniently left out of this interview.
@@otakurocklee I can't find anything that contradicts the accepted version of the story, but there's this that seems to support it:
www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8368083/Former-colleague-Amy-Cooper-says-tried-ruin-life-bogus-lawsuit.html
Your analogy was perfect! Thank you
What if a stranger would suddenly approached you in an empty park with a rude attitude and start videotaping you?
@@smartlady3892 a) he wasn't rude, b) he asked her politely to STOP BREAKING THE LAW, c) he showed restraint and maturity when SHE became rude and abusive and made untrue accusations, which you must know enough to see could have resulted in his death.
Thank God this man wasn’t hurt by the police! He was so smart to record her because it’s doubtful the police would have believed him over her. Sad, but true. This woman was full of herself and obviously thought that she could get away with what she did. Her apology wasn’t heartfelt. She is trying to get her job back.
I wouldn't call it "smart", it a Black man's human instinct now.
And to think this man later said yes ther is ramifications for her actions after she was fired she didn't deserve to have her life torn apart. He is such a kind person she lost out on knowing such a kind and caring person. He is so nice he probably would forgive her. Truly a kind soul
The power of self-control, that's real strength. Mad respect
Had they both stayed at the scene, this man would be searched for weapons and possibly injured or killed because he would rightfully resist. She knew the benefits of her privilege. This is a 2020 Emmitt Till and it sickens me to the point I have tears. This hurts to the core!
Yes, very sad. When I think of Emmett Tills story, it fills me with rage. He was just a child. America was and is an evil place. Unfortunately, some white people try to act like they did not cause some of the tragedies in American History.
Leonaza7 it angers me about all the Black Men who lost their lives because a white woman lied on them Rosewood and Emmett Till comes to mind
@@MsAngelaSunshine I'm white and I'll tell you I haven't caused any tragedies in American history. If you can name one I've caused, let me know.
No Regerts5 - you haven’t personally caused any tragedies (I assume). But as white folks we have to at least acknowledge that, collectively, our ancestors were the ones that caused a TON of tragedies in American history. And unfortunately the legacy of that still lingers in society today.
@@noregerts5247 it's the MIND SET...that's an issue.
I am glad that the dog is removed from this disgraceful woman.
I’m conflicted about the dog. Yes she was choking the dog (assuming no history of prior abuse) but if the dog was adopted, placing it into another new home would be detrimental to the dog. I wonder how long she had the dog. I know I would go postal if anybody took my pets from me. I also wonder what was the contract she entered with the shelter. Pets are ( unfortunately) property. And you can’t just take away property without a crime being committed (she wasnt charged with anything I know of) or restitution. Christian demonstrated so much grace and insight, I will try to be more like him.
WOW, listening to Christian's response regarding the incident and what happened afterward to Amy, the 911 Caller, reflects his kindness, wisdom, maturity, and his gentle heart of peace and forgiveness...He is a HERO in my book!
The land of the free and the home of the brave is losing its meaning and the question is whether it ever truly was.
“Lost it’s meaning”? When? When Native Americans were forced onto reservations, or when Africans were enslaved and brought here against their will?
I’m so glad you are alive Christian to tell your story and continue to live your life. As well as having a sister who your life clearly matters to. Great interview
I have seen so many Karen's, so self-entitled....they are all over the corporate world.
Not KAREN. In this case, she is a CAROLYN. As in Carolyn Bryant, who got poor Emmett Till killed. No cell phones then.
ALLLLLLLLL OVER
A Karen is a self entitled white woman who thinks she is above all others. A clown in the black community. Basically a 2020 Becky. 😂
That's because it's a type of white privilege culture.
@@sirhandsome5107 Great definition.
Well spoken...Amazing that he can take the high road in a situation that could of turned out so wrong. ✊🏾
What an amazing man- showing grace like this. The woman-she knew what she was doing.
Glad she got fired, he could of lost his life over her racial issues.
Stephanie Wyatt .... he could have lost his life ? ... guys on this channel are deluded
The police wouldnt have cared about his resume or his job. They would've seen a black man...only. I wouldn't have except her apology. Did he say Birder?
I SAY THIS AS A BLACK MAN MYSELF AND THAT IS THERE ARE BLACK PEOPLE THAT WILL DO WHAT AMY COOPER DID AS WELL. I SAY THIS BECAUSE OF MY LIFE EXPERIENCE. BECAUSE IT IS SO MUCH IMMORTALITY AND SELF HATRED THAT WE HAVE FOR ONE ANOTHER AS A RACE OF PEOPLE !!!
@@cjreynolds3013 I disagree and say you're wrong. I don't know If you are black BUT IF YOU ARE BLACK FOR YOU TO SAY THIS IS A DISGRACE FOR THE RACE
I hope she never finds any other job. What an awful person...
Her company had to fire her, it's client based. She could have brought down the company.
IMHTP lets be honest, she probably said and did some backhanded/racist stuff at work. If she can fly off the handle like that over being told to FOLLOW THE LAW, she for sure said some racist stuff to minorities around her. I wouldn’t be surprised if she called a coworker she doesn’t like the n word
Most people can see right through that though. The company is in no way off-the-hook. People are a product of their environment and her former employer Frankin Templeton, probably employs dozens and dozens of people with the same mentality as this woman.
that's what i was thinking. the only fired because she would have brought too much distraction to their business. they masqueraded it as social justice.
we need to look into her blood lineage, because she shares the same last name as him and chances are plenty of her own ancestors murdered 10x black people.

what a lovely guy you are , i would not of been that kind cause she really meant you harm but were so above that , you mum must be very proud of you xx
Very good man, God bless him!!
She got in more trouble for choking her dog out than for putting this man's life in danger.
man it's disgusting
I think both are huge issues! How dare she call the cops and accuse a black man of saying that he is threatening to kill her when she knows the simple truth and is using her white privileged to win. Also, she was abusing her dog while she was at it and it could have died too! 2 very important lives could’ve been lost and I’m glad he filmed this disgusting scene.
EXACTLY
Sometimes black people are so nice, tell me if this black guy was killed by the police she called. Would he be alive to talk....
Yeah why is he defending this white woman when she tried to get him killed. They should throw the book at her and make an example of her. When black men keep defending these white women who assist in their murderers it just stupid.

He's just acknowledging that everyone is human; honestly I've rarely heard a wiser man, this guy is a total inspiration.
It does seem sort of "too nice": reminds me of the people at that church in South Carolina in 2015 who forgave the murdering Monster - and also those Amish people in Pennsylvania in 2006 where 5 school children were killed!! These acts of forgiveness are utterly jaw-dropping, and yes, they seem crazy. But maybe Anger is crazy; dunno: I couldn't forgive like that. But Chris is alive. To me, he's a superb role model: not only brilliant, sensitive, articulate, caring, but emotionally brilliant as well. His sister is also great, wanting to shine a light, as she said, on this rot, and she succeeded. Bright family, may they shine forever.
Melody did the right thing by posting the video in this situation. She basically opened up the door for a discussion on racism, which is still prevalent in our Country. Her brother is extremely smart and knowledgeable. He needs to educate us with his knowledge. I was watching another news segment portraying the three generations of African America men. The older man was extremely anger. The middle generation man was trying to calm the older man down by showing and saying he was listening to him. Then, the middle generation man was talking to the younger generation man asking him what we need to do about it to fix it. After the incident, the middle generation man explains to the viewers why he acted in the way he did. This man has so much passion and ability to relate to the angry men. He is a modern Martin Luther King, Jr. Now, we need to get this modern Martin Luther King, Jr and this very educated man together to preach and teach America. The door has been open. Now we need to walk through.
I am glad that an educated man was able to experience this and able explained his story. Like his sister said, he was lucky to have an education to be taken seriously. This doesnt have to happen! This country needs to change!
Can someone remind Megan that this is why people were kneeling and she myopically saw it as an insult on the flag and the soldiers. This is why black men were lynched for over 200 years
Mega had to find a way to speak for the racist
You are 100 percent correct, Colin K. Kneeling was never about disrespecting the Military, flag or any other label that the clowns like Donald j trump and company wanted to attached to it. As a Retired Army Soldier I knew from the very first moment it was not an indictment on the any of the above. It is times like this that make most of us appreciate his actions even more because Colin K. Did not have to take the road that he did but he is clearly a man of great moral fiber to which people like Don the con could never understand.
Excuse me real racism is some black person being dragged from their home and tossed on to the streets simply because they are black. Now I haven't seen that happen here like that for over 65-70 years ago but that has happen recently during the covid19 in China where is the outrage from the "view" about that?
Politics in Plain English Clearly you must have been either in prison or living in a cave during the years of 1998 & 1999 when James Byrd Jr. was attacked by 3 white supremacists and they did exactly what you said has not been done as you stated in over 65-70 years when those criminal attached the African American man James Byrd Jr. To the back of the pick up truck by chains and dragged him to death in 1998 that is exactly 22 years ago on June 7th so not quite 65-70 years as you stated is it? It's people like you that attempt to minimize crimes and the actions of the attackers. The bottom line is regardless if if was yesterday or 200 years ago those were crimes by Whites against Africans American they were wrong at that time and they are wrong today. Check your facts because they are way way wrong.
Politics in Plain English and you think your subjective and myopic definition of ‘real racism’ is the right one? The murderer was motivated by race, he wouldn’t do that to a white man. And you know it.
