The ending where Korra cries, ALWAYS gets me! Next (no spoilers) season is really good; exploring Korra's mental health from the events of this season. ENJOY!!!
jinora's mastery ceremony is the first of it's kind in almost 200 years. when tenzin became a master i'm sure aang made it as special as he could, but he was the only other airbender there. with jinora, she has a whole nation behind her. there are other airbenders to ring the bells and move the incense and bend the air in beautiful motions. she gets the full pomp and circumstance, as she rightly deserves. it makes me cry every time too

(about Jinora) "She was the Aang that Korra needed when she lost connection to the real Aang" i GASPED at that comment of you guys omg. That is so amazing
Korra is not in top form during the fight, she is suffering in immense pain from poisoning and fighting in fear and desperation. When she reaches for her dad before fainting, I wonder if she thinks she's seeing him in an afterlife, as she thought he was dead. Tenzin also unintentionally adds to Korra's fears at the end by assuring her that the airbenders will help in her place, essentially cementing to her that she isn't needed. It is such a bittersweet moment 😭 she is truly broken. I love her relationship with Tenzin's kids though, even broken, she welcomes them into her arms.
The metal poison they used was probably mercury if it wasn't some fictional poisonous metal. And Korra's symptoms match mercury poisoning. Muscle weakness and inability to remain balanced (ataxia) and even paralysis specifically, it can also cause depression, hallucinations, personality changes, muscle spasms... Mercury is probably the most terrifying metal other than the radioactive ones I guess.
I was waiting for this episode to make the EXACT comment about Mercury 🤣 They never name it as such, but I think it's a pretty good guess based on its appearance and how it lines up so well with her symptoms next season. People are so hard on Korra in the 4th season thinking she's weak, and I'm like dude Katara straight up says her internal organs are wrecked among everything else physical and mental that's going on😒 I'm sure anyone would struggle with that
@@Bananies12Considering how "quickly" Korra bounces back from the wheelchair, that speaks more about her strength and will than anything else. Most normal people in her position would've died in the spot or a few days after, or at the very least, been paralyzed for good.
@@tsukimilo lmao of course she survives because she has Raava. Any other human would have died. The Avatar has the avatar state as a temporary buffer between her and death for this case
@@fools5271 yes but I feel its not just Raava, remember when in season 2 Korra was feeling hopless and defeated because Raava was gone, and Tenzin asked her to find the strenght in her own spirit, Korra herself is a fighter, love her character so much.
12:47 It always gets me when Lin says "Hang in there, kid." She's usually so cold but for the first time she shows Korra some genuine support. This entire ending is just heartbreaking. I'm glad you guys enjoyed this season, can't wait for the next :)
This episode always makes me cry so hard. Korra lived a life of comfort before she came to Republic City. There was "peace and harmony" thanks to Aang and so she never really had to worry about going through what Aang did. This fight pushed her to desperately fight for her life, something she likely never expected she'd have to do. To put her life on the line to save others. It's a reality check for Korra and messes her mental state up so much. This fight changes her so much.
Yeah, I found her really annoying in season 1 and 2 (although in 2 it's more understandable/not as bad) but from 3 onwards she gets really chewed and put to the extreme test.
@@GoldenLeafsMovies I really like Korra in Season one,, she is fierce, tought and impatience but also compassionate, honest and loyal. On the other hand Season 2 Korra is awful, its seems like a different character than the one on the previous season and the next ones (3 and 4)
I’m always sad and scared for Korra when I watch this episode because I know how it affects her after. The whole fighting sequence where she goes after Zaheer is really out of a frightened rage - she is not just angry she is also scared, she’s really fighting for her life. its heartbreaking to see Korra so down and near broken and then there is Jinora who looks so much like Aang with the shaved head and all and ugh literally bawling
This season finale is absolute perfection and I'm so glad you guys enjoyed it. This episode is the point where this show and ATLA truly bind together. If you've only watched LOK its a wonderful moment, but if you've seen both then its a transcendent experience. No matter how many times I rewatch it I always tear up when Jinora removes her cloak and the airbenders make the wind chimes ring. I think that culmination of moments is what makes us cry for mixed emotions. Knowing she's the first in the youngest generation, that she's Aang's granddaughter, she looks like Aang, and then the new airbenders fully embracing their new culture by being a crucial aspect of the ceremony. Add the hopeful soundtrack that swells as the scene continues and that people of all nations and the new president (representing nonbenders) are there too to witness it. Then you realize Aang isn't there, but his dream is, and then it's almost as if you cry for him in happiness and relief and faith for the future.
This is why I always say Korra is the strongest Avatar ever, she survived getting her limbs twisted through psychic bloodbending, was smashed into rocks and god knows what else by a bunch of crazy outcasts, had a spirit literally ripped out of her physical body and survived being poisoned with what looks like gallons OF PURE LIQUID MERCURY! Yes, she's not the most powerful(Aang) , skilled(Yangchen) or even badass(Kyoshi), but girl can take damage and handle PAIN (head on) like no other avatar ever has or will.
@sovereign2989aang was in control of the avatar state during his fight with Ozai, and what aang was doing is more impressive because of how he was able to combine the elements around him.
@@jacobmiller2663 He was not in control of the fight against Ozai. Before going into the avatar state, yes. But after entering it in the fight, he had no control. He was literally about to kill Ozai and had to quickly exit the avatar state before it was too late. That's not control.

@@jacobmiller2663 I mean Korra has the best precision and power feat of all the avatars if you think about it. Bending the little particles of metal out of her own body was a VERY precise feat. when they pulled Jinoras hood off and showed her tattoo I burst into tears and blurted out through my sobs "She looks just like Aaang" 😭 I was sobbing because I was so happy for her and I could just Imagine how happy Aang would have been for her and I was also sad because Aang couldn't be there to see it. So I haven’t seen anyone mention this but you guys did. Yes this was the first time in this season we saw the avatar state. Korra learned how important it was and Raava and became much more reserved in using it. It’s sad to think Korra fighting off the avatar state was Korra trying to protect Raava yet Raava was trying to induce the avatar to protect Korra.
That's not true. She used the avatar state to spirit bend te vines and other and besides that, she didn't really need the avatar state. Also her not using the avatar state almost whole season was also meant as an forshadow to this episode.
The poison was a harsh way to do it but I always felt like she needed to be humbled throughout S1-2. She was way too eager to make big moves as a young Avatar and wouldn’t take advice from those who were only trying to help her. She became impulsive and reckless not realising she was potentially endangering those around her until it was too late. Although it partly wasn’t her fault as the White Lotus were overprotective (as per the orders of Aang before he necked) and how they held important information from her while she was trained from them didn’t help her grow. They could’ve at least made her aware of the dangers and trained her appropriately rather than withholding info and directly contributing to her impatience and rebellious nature
Zaheer showed the limit of his wisdom when he decided to force Korra into the avatar state . Just like with Aang when that earthbending general forced him in the avatar state ( by threatening katara) , Zaheer made the same mistake and it backfired !
idk zaheer couldn’t even beat tenzin alone, if it was 1v1 korra would’ve ended zaheer first try imo but of course she has to be chained/poisoned every time she fights him it’s never a fair fight for her which sucks
On the ground certainly both Korra and Tenzin would easily beat him. But flying really is a huge advantage. His flying is much more useful than Korra's fire flying. With his flying he can be super evasive in the air and dodge from far away and for Korra when she's flying it's much harder to move around properly and bend attacks at him. For Zaheer he can continue flying freely and bend attacks back. He's definitely not a better bender, but flying adds enough of an advantage to sneak a win in.
@@Gopal__S i think without the avatar state he would win simply due to being able to fly.. but if this was his pre flying era i think she would have a chance to beat him forsure
This was one of the best season finale's of all the anime I've watched. Love Jinora getting her tattoos, the new generation of airbending masters. and a ton of sympathy for Korra, she's been beat down hard. I watched this as it came out and the first time I saw Korra in the chair... it was a scene that sticks with me
I feel like they take away something away from korra that defines her as an avatar. S1 was the bending of 4 elements (though she got it back), s2 was her connection to the past lives and s3 was her physicality
So you guys might not realize it but Asphyxiation isn't new. It's heavily hinted and implied that Monk Gyatso used Asphyxiation in that room that Aang finds his body in to kill himself as well as all the Fire nation soldiers that were in there with him.
I want you to remember two important facts: 1) The Avatar state is just Korra. She has no help from previous avatars, so this is just her raw power 2) Jinora is the youngest airbending master in history. The second youngest is Aang
It is interesting to see a lot of new Korra viewers appreciate the show more than those who saw it as it aired years ago -- we give Korra too much undeserved dislike/hate, when as a show it stood the test of time story and character wise, both as a show on its own and as a worthy sequel to ATLA.
Perfect end to my favorite season of the whole avatar universe. Emotionally strong, beautifully shot, the music, and truly some of the highest stakes in avatar. Ppl trash korra so much for taking Ls but she faced some of the strongest villains. Legit gave her life up for the ppl. So dope
Fuck man korras single tear always breaks me. Seeing her bright eyed and on her way to republic city then seeing her beat down and physically and mentally. Truly broken by her experiences. The only thing she ever wanted;to be the avatar; then to be confronted by her biggest fear, that the world doesn't need her anymore only for it to be rubbed in even deep by tenzins proclamation to go out into the world in her stead to try and fill her shoes while she recovers. A great gesture but for her it's only confirmation.
Zaheer is a common name in West and South Asia as well as North Africa that is inspired by the Islamic concept of Quran interpretation, which can be divided into its "apparent meaning" or zahir (Arabic: ظاهر) and its "inner meaning" or batin (Arabic: باطن). Prior to Zaheer's escape from his prison, he explained to a White Lotus sentry a similar concept in interpreting the poetry of Guru Laghima, with zahir relating to "what you see" and batin relating to the "truth within the myth". Zahir is associated with Arabic, Hebrew, Urdu, Swahili, and Turkish languages. * The name Zaheer is also similar to the word "zehir" ( زہر ), which means "poison" in Turkish and Urdu, relating to how he used poison in an attempt to kill Korra. * In the Chinese dub, Zaheer's name is written as 查希爾.
just fyi Jinora has broke the record for the youngest ever airbender to get a grandmaster tattoo. Before her it was Aang who hold the record for the youngest airbender to ever get the tattoo
Best finale, hands down. Episode 13 has be bawling on the ground every time. The way they use the same score as the ATLA finale is gooooldddd. A proper tribute to aang, no longer the last airbender.
To me between avatar the last air bender and korra the avatar ,KORRA is my fav , I know Ang suffered alot while he was a kid but korra is also a teenager and suffered more
Yeah I don’t understand the point of comparing their trauma. Both of them went through a lot. Aang fellow people and culture was erased, he had no one but his fellow sky bison to connect him to the airbending culture and past. Korra went through a lot physically and mentally. No point in comparing their trauma.
This actually is the best book in the entire avatar universe for me, I´m not despected on Aang´s story but seriously this book is really revolutionary, so brave, so strong, well built, concise and that final scene showing the oposite joyful by Jinora´s ceremony and Korra sadness is so beautiful as heartbreaking as well. So sad that the next book is the last one and finished this greatful sequel... Keep going
Now that the book is done, I want to talk about why I consider the Red Lotus to be the best villains in LoK. I like villains who are pure evil, like Ozai. Villains who are just unambiguously villainous, and you can just want them to lose. And I also like villains who have legitimate points, where it's possible to agree with their goals, which is what the writers wanted Korra's villains to be. What I don't like is when the writers do both. Make a villain who has a legitimate point, only to then have them do some unrelated Bad Thing to remind the audience that we're not supposed to side with them. Like, should Wakanda have compromised its policy of isolationism when innocent people from neighboring countries were sold into slavery? Who cares, N'Jadaka is destroying the HSH so that the legacy of the Black Panther will die with him. On the one hand, Grindelwald's argument that subverting the nomajes' freedom in order to prevent the Holocaust does sound really good to anti-Holocaust people like me, buuuut he killed that little chupacabra that helped him for no reason whatsoever so bring on the gas, I guess. Pirates are dangerous, so even someone like Ace is fair game for the government officials like Akainu whose job is to keep people safe, but when he kills the evacuees of Ohara after promising them safe passage, you know he has no leg to stand on. The first two seasons of the Legend of Korra also had this issue. Amon and the Equalists posed an interesting moral dilemma. We know that benders have a physical advantage over nonbenders. Criminal organizations can victimize nonbenders with little pushback, Republic City's unelected government is made entirely of benders, the most popular sport is one only benders can play. When Mako needed quick money, he was able to get a job that was literally only possible for firebenders; presumably, any nonbender in a similar situation would be screwed. Tarrlok was able to specifically cut off power in nonbender homes, implying a level of ghettoization. And we know from real life that a society can survive without bending. All of which are pretty substantial arguments for the Equalist cause, and how is it resolved? Well, it turns out Amon was lying about his backstory and he's actually a bender, so just ignore all the systemic issues. Unalaq was even worse. The first half of Book 2 set up a narrative about the Southern Tribe losing touch with spiritual tradition in favor of commercialism, about the Northern Tribe technically having authority over the Southern Tribe, about a return to their roots. There's even a little morally complex backstory where Tonraq protected the Northern Tribe from a physical human threat at the cost of destroying a place of spiritual significance. Then in the second half we find out that Unalaq was just seeking power and he was going to use Vaatu the spirit of darkness and destruction to become a Dark Avatar and plunge the world into 10 000 years lf chaos, about as morally black and white as it gets. Oh, and also, he arranged the barbarian attack all those years ago specifically to get Tonraq banished, so I guess the fact that Tonraq still made the choice to destroy the spirit place is no longer his fault. But the Red Lotus? They're anarchists. They believe that hierarchy leads to tyrants abusing their power, and they have the Earth Queen, President Raiko, and multiple generations of Fire Lords over the course of a century as solid examples. And every single bad thing they do is directly tied to furthering their goals. Killing the Earth Queen, destroying the walls of Ba Sing Se, trying to put an end to the Avatar Cycle. So, yeah. These guys are right up there with the likes of Stain, Dashkov, or Thanos.
The last episode of ATLA was, in my mind, visually better. But this was possible one of the best animated episode ever outside of Studio Ghibli. Season 4 is very different. Make no mistake, season 3 Korra is the best season of the franchise to me. But season 4 is VERY important.
Jinora had a lot of great moments, I wish they wouldve given the "its metallic" line to someone else. Maybe let Zaheer say "The mercury is doing its work" instead of just poison, then Asami can be like "Wait, mercury is metallic, Su, Lin you can help!" There was just a lot in Jinoras lap. That was one detail too much in my opinion, an alternative woudlve pushed it to a 10/10 for me i think. Many characters are a bit underutilised
"Must ... Use ... Lighter ... Toxic ... metal ... Next ... Time ... " - Zaheer, trying to bugger off with Korra against the air nation twister. "Fox Three" - Me watching Korra take off after Zaheer.
The only thing that the creators of Avatar do that I don't like is that after defeating a difficult, incredible and cool villain, they make a gag scene to ridicule him as a typical cartoon for small children, like they did with Ozai and now with Zaheer. To me, it ruins the mood of them being good villains.
korra taking major L each season. compared to TLA she loses alot. she lost her bending, lost her connection to past avatars, got wrecked till she almost lost the avatar cycle.. her enemies are far more extreme than fire lord in TLA. look back at s1 korra vs ending of s4. so much development in all the hardship she went through

Next season is gonna b awesome!!
S1 was the bending of 4 elements (though she got it back), s2 was her connection to the past lives and s3 was her physicality
what i love is that when korra is in the avatar state all those feats are her strength alone
Yall made my morning ❤️
What a beautiful season my absolute favorite 😭
Cant wait for season 4, you will like the villain just as much next season!
I LEGITEMATELY CRIED WATCHING THIS EPISODE .
I cry every single time …I love this episode.
Jinora looks so much like Aang with her shaved head and tattoos. She is just as much Aangs legacy as Korra is.
Seing this again when Jinora looks like Aang always get me 😢
Don't worry I always cry when watching this ending, the music always gets me, and Korra's tear
So you guys might not realize it but Asphyxiation isn't new. It's heavily hinted and implied that Monk Gyatso used Asphyxiation in that room that Aang finds his body in to kill himself as well as all the Fire nation soldiers that were in there with him.
They really have trust issue huh lmao thinking that kuvira is a red lotus member 😭
I think they thought Opal was evil at the start lol
@@dewantorooyeah for being too nice 😭😭
It was always so sad with this episode, she's gone through so much.
I love the direction the air nation is becoming peace keepers
I want you to remember two important facts:
1) The Avatar state is just Korra. She has no help from previous avatars, so this is just her raw power
2) Jinora is the youngest airbending master in history. The second youngest is Aang
When korra cry i cry
"Bittersweet" was the true episode title in my mind
That fisheye effect when Korra was hallucinating looks just like the fisheye effect they used on Sokka when he was hallucinating from cactus juice
NEVER let ANYONE shame you for enjoying Korra.
11:36 the excitement 😂💀
Korra vs zaheer is prob the best fight in all of avatar
This is one of the beste maybe (even the season) of the avatar franchise. It literally has almost everything you want.
Best finale, hands down. Episode 13 has be bawling on the ground every time. The way they use the same score as the ATLA finale is gooooldddd. A proper tribute to aang, no longer the last airbender.
SO EXCITED
cant wait for season 4, keep it up boys
To me between avatar the last air bender and korra the avatar ,KORRA is my fav , I know Ang suffered alot while he was a kid but korra is also a teenager and suffered more
Yeah I don’t understand the point of comparing their trauma. Both of them went through a lot. Aang fellow people and culture was erased, he had no one but his fellow sky bison to connect him to the airbending culture and past. Korra went through a lot physically and mentally. No point in comparing their trauma.
Jinora looks like Aang with her shaved head 🥲
The ending of this episode always gets me down😢😭 still a great season
my girl korra is the best
You get it now, why it is the best season 😂🎉
In the next season, be careful, dont get spoiled by subtitle.
I think Netflix changed it a while ago. They must have finally gotten the hint from fans 😂
thats only the second master in over 180 years
I always thought the poison looked like mercury
Because of this ending, i think it is better suited for book 4 instead of book 3
The poison is killing her and kept her in the avatar state
Best Korra episode ever
loving the reactions goats
The poison is mercury...
The last episode of ATLA was, in my mind, visually better. But this was possible one of the best animated episode ever outside of Studio Ghibli.
Season 4 is very different. Make no mistake, season 3 Korra is the best season of the franchise to me. But season 4 is VERY important.
And now you guys know why everyone said season 3 is the best season of Korra.
Epic.
Jinora had a lot of great moments, I wish they wouldve given the "its metallic" line to someone else. Maybe let Zaheer say "The mercury is doing its work" instead of just poison, then Asami can be like "Wait, mercury is metallic, Su, Lin you can help!"
There was just a lot in Jinoras lap. That was one detail too much in my opinion, an alternative woudlve pushed it to a 10/10 for me i think. Many characters are a bit underutilised
Jinora listened to Zaheer and Korra's entire conversation. If she didn't say that, they'd be severely dumbing down her character
"Must ... Use ... Lighter ... Toxic ... metal ... Next ...
Peak book 3
korra taking major L each season. compared to TLA she loses alot. she lost her bending, lost her connection to past avatars, got wrecked till she almost lost the avatar cycle.. her enemies are far more extreme than fire lord in TLA.
look back at s1 korra vs ending of s4. so much development in all the hardship she went through
Please turn off your subtitles for the next season to avoid spoilers.
This should've been the end of the series. The next season is AWFUL!
No it’s not lol
@@danieljackson2266 it’s not exactly amazing
@@mranima748 to you
Korra smart to stay out of avatar state if she dies in avatar mode the cycle ends.
Fun video game fact; Smite has avatar legend of Korra cosmetics for there uh characters so aang skin etc and there's a Korra skin but whats crazy When she dies her dieing Animation is her Getting The ait suffocation move that zaheer attempted to do on korra in this episode
Jesus, that’s barbaric. 🫣
@@krystaloftheshores well again smite is like uh overwatch/leader of legends that type of genre and the skins cosmetics are cool but yeah fun videogame fact on this if you look up smite Korra death it is that
who did jinora tatoos like dont you have unclothes to put the tatoos over the body
Oh wow I'm early
No she’s paralyzed, thats why she is in the chair.
I'm glad they made her paralyzed after that fight. It's more realistic that way.
Guys, before getting into season 4, i recommend react to the book 4 trailer first. Its gonna hype you up more
No one piece today??? 😢
Coming in 2 hours!
