I think he made the right call looking for help. While traffic came by after I got there, he could have sat there all day before someone else came. One jeep had already gone by and didn't help. The motorcyclists certainly would have, but again, how long do you sit around hoping someone happens by. A few years ago I came across an Expedition high-centered on a steep bank (2nd crossing before FS fixed it). He was out there with his kid and said I was the first person to happen by in hours.
