I remember reading these books and just being so sad about how the series ended, and after reading a few other books I realized that I just couldn't rest until I reread them. The books are so exciting and depressing at the same time. I just don't understand how no one knows about them, ESPECIALLY when the hunger games is so popular.
Preaching to the choir. Any chance I get, if someone tells me they like the Hunger Games I'm like, "cool cool, but have you heard of this amazing book series by the very same author?" 🤣🤣
Yay, someone else who’s read these! I loved them! They’re wonderfully written, and it makes me so sad that so few people have read them
ahhhh thank you so much for making this video! I can't put into words how much I love this series. maybe now that a new book is coming out there will be an underland chronicles renaissance but I thought that the last time a new book came out and it didn't happen then... I don't get why people refuse to acknowledge these books exist!!!
It's ok! It will forever live in our hearts! It is immortal!
These were my fav books growing up and I’ve been re reading them literally best choice I’ve ever made!! It’s been healing my inner child I swear idk how or why but I keep crying in a good way lmao they’re so dang good
'I cant because why would I show emotion' 😂😂
The original hardcovers look super cool, especially for the time they came out! But you're sellinggggg this series, I'll have to give it a try sometime 😉
I appreciate this video so much! You did a great job summarizing it and pointing out all the real world connections. I first read these in like late elementary/early middle school and absolutely loved them. Even at that age I recognized how dark and heavy they were and this is a book series that I still reread as an adult maybe like once every year or two, and get emotional every time because of how impactful they are. They are just so accessible to all ages because of the heavy themes that it covers. And while I was a big fan of the Hunger Games, I agree that this is her best series and it’s always been so upsetting to me how criminally underrated they are. I’m going to recommend these to everyone to try to bring it some well deserved hype.
Yes! Please do an Underland read along! 🙏 I love it when readers get so passionate about books. This sounds like a great series - I had no idea this was Suzanne Collins debut novels. Thanks for the recommendation, I'm gonna try and see if I can get my hands on a copy of the first book.
Love your content!
Thank you so much! 🖤 I hope you love the books!!!!! I will definitely do a readalong then.
6:06 this is a good point also spoilers for a certain character that I want to talk about
I was reading prophecy of bane and I reached the part where they were at the mite island and the part where Howard's bat is literally eaten leaving only her skeleton is horrific and such a gruesome death
OMG right! I remember having to reread that part over and over again just to make sure I wasn't reading it wrong. And then the tears set in 😭
I just read these for the first time (I'm a big hunger games fan) and the author really knows how to write about war. In a hard and honest, albeit digestible way. I recently gave them to my neices. Great series to add to the collection.
Yes! You are absolutely right. I hope your nieces love it too! 🖤
This was my favorite series when I was younger. I remember pacing around the house reading one of the books and I went through the entire thing cover to cover in one day. I really want to get my hands on it again but I don’t like any of the new edition covers-been trying to find the hardcover ones that you have in this video! I’m also trying to convince my wife to read them (she just read The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes and loved it).
I couldn't find the hardcovers either. I believe they are out of print 😞
I hope your wife lives this series as much as we do!
I should've specified that I've had these hardcovers since I was in elementary school and never threw them out, but I tried looking for them again and couldn't find them.
@@LolasLalaland ahhhh ok I was slightly confused but I figured it was something like that haha. I’m eyeing some used library editions but it’s a gamble on what their quality will be
@@previllion5355 if they're not too pricey I would say go for it, but yeah, the hard covers are hard to find
You should do a spoiler dive where you can really dig deep & give your opinions
I probably will. Maybe a read along/spoiler dive could be fun!
I have these books and they’re so good
Love this series DOWN
lol i just spent 6 hours yesterday reading the entirety of the 5th book in a single day. 400 pages. i read the other few books in just a few days spending up to 3-5 horus on other days. i deffinitly recomend. is there a movie or show for this? if not, will there ever be one?
Awe man I love to hear it!!!! ☺️
Sadly there is no show and there seems to be no future projects for it. Unfortunately, Gregor the Overlander came out the same time Harry Potter did and it was just completely overshadowed by the fame and glory of the Hogwarts magical world... 🥲
This book would be soooo good as a tv show or movie im so sad no one has made it into one yet 😭
