I love these! So simple and beautiful! I have so many pieces of miscut wood from my van build and I am trying to figure out what to turn them into. I love the idea of making the mistakes into art. making something beautiful from what went wrong. Thank you for the inspiration!
Thank You So Much for this video! We are middle aged & FINALLY able to buy our own land & build a farmhouse. I want to decorate but everything is SO EXPENSIVE! Luckily my 91yr old Mother has given me several vintage pieces but i need to learn how to make some of the pretty/rustic wall signs. I am def subbing your channel!🤩
Thank you, I'm thinking of remaking on a larger scale like my 'happiness is homemade' sign. This was one of my first videos so would do things a bit differently now, love and learn, sure you're finding that, just finalising a DIY of some vases I filmed months ago, so watch out for that one too : )
Thank you, I can’t quite remember and I always change them a bit too before I use them, search for Isabella script font and heart and soul font and I’m sure you’ll find something to download, hope this helps, enjoy your project 😊
Excellent, DIY decor is the best 😊 Now all the Christmas decs are down and everything looks a bit plain again I have so many ideas too, exciting for your apartment, have fun ❤️
Thanks, you can purchase a similar font and add it to your computer programs yes, but for personal use you can also go to a font generator and capture the words you want to use and then use these for free
Hello. Thanks for sharing your technique. So you just printed it out on regular paper and then took at pencil (I have a tombow hi precision drafting pencil, would that work?) and shaded the letters as you could see them through the paper onto the back of the paper? Then traced the letters so that the shaded pencil marks transferred to the wood?
Hi, thanks, it would work but you’d be better finding a basic pencil or a graphite stick for rubbing all over the back then precision pencil for tracing over yes, enjoy your projects
An easier more accurate word paint would be to use the same tracing paper, cut out the wording and apply paint so it clean and copied over the trace paper
Thanks yes I have done this also but I personally prefer that technique for chunkier designs. Many ways of doing it, like the stencil method in my coffee sign video
Hi, I did yes, the softer the pencil the easier it will transfer, but regular is just fine, it works well on the white. Are you going to give it a go? ☺️
I haven't for a long while but would like to make something new for Christmas like this this year, you can get outdoor regular or acrylic paint, but if it's for my own personal use I would acrylic paint and then probably polyurethane varnish, as it's likely to be something big and this is economical, may need recoating after a couple of years depending on the weather, happy crafting, thanks for watching, Sarah ❤
I know it's been 2 yrs, but I'm hoping you can still answer me questions. I have never seen wood glue like that nor applied that way. What brand is that? Do you find that glue better than any other glue? Thank you
I'm not sure sorry, best thing to do is go on a font generator website, type in the text you want and look at the different fonts available and then download it, it's easy, thank you ❤️
Yes I do, more thinner coats better than 1 thick, if in doubt if it's cheap paint then I sometimes add a bit of white craft glue into it, you really don't need very much of either. I then spray a craft varnish over the top at the very end once all is dry.
If you google 'font generator' and type in your word you can see it in all different fonts and select one, this is something like 'great day' I can't remember the exact one. Enjoy your project
You can try this with any wall paint, or any waterbased paint at all , this time I used pure brilliant white quick dry eggshell for interior wood and metal. But I often use basic emulsion. Hope that helps
Hi, the wood I used was already quite smooth, if you sand it so it’s fairly smooth it’s easy to transfer the letters over and easier to paint, just depends which look you are going for
Have fun and create something beautiful, what do you have planned?
@Noches de Karaoke ☺️ thank you
Thank you for showing ways to do crafts without needing expensive tools
Welcome, thank you 😊
How wonderful to find someone using up scraps and recycling.
Also not generating so much plastic waste with machines.
Thanks you’ve inspired me 😊
Thanks for watching, guilty of using machines in some projects but I do love to reduce reuse and recycle ♻️
This looks so simple and yet so pretty and would look awesome in my apartment!
I love them on a big scale, feel the need to do another one soon 😊

Which paper you use to write amazing
Any regular of copy paper
TY! Just found your channel!
Welcome and thank you ❤️
did you just use a regular grey pencil for the back of the letters???
Hi, I did yes, the softer the pencil the easier it will transfer, but regular is just fine, it works well on the white. Are you going to give it a go? ☺️
Do you ever paint signs for outdoors? If so, do you use acrylic paint and then seal it with something?

How do you get the good Hand Writing, on the paper before you press it on the board
Use printer to print out large on paper
Thanks for the video
It’s a pleasure, thanks for watching 😊
Wat did you use to scribble as you said on the back of he transfer with the type?
Pencil/graphite, thanks
Keep it up
thank you, I love making videos so yes i will, keep watching
Did you print on tracing paper?
Just regular printer paper
I know it's been 2 yrs, but I'm hoping you can still answer me questions.
I have never seen wood glue like that nor applied that way.
What brand is that?
Do you find that glue better than any other glue?
Thank you
I’ve always used this kind of white wood glue, it’s like PVA glue really, I often use this and then screw/nail together for larger pieces
@@RedRockingBird
Could you tell me the name?
Thank you
@@kathgraham9209 think this was evo stik wood glue or gorilla do it too, it’s just a white wood glue that does not need a glue compressor

Thank you for replying back!
Merry Christmas ‼️
Super cute 🥰
Thank you!
what kind of penicl you use trace the letters on the board it is my first time
Any kind, something hard that will press the pencil from the back onto the wood, best of luck
Can u explain again what u did with the paper to trace it onto the wood?
Will the vinyl stick well to chalk paint?
It should do, I don’t use vinyl, these are painted ❤️
What level of grit is the sand paper?
medium to fine is good, it doesn't matter too much, just not coarse.
Wondered how you skilfully painted that 'amazing " sign ---however I see its a computer generated lettering -----! -
Plenty of videos on RUclips showing how to free hand if that’s what you are after…calligraphy, heavy on the down stroke, light on the up stroke
Love to try this, what is the font called?
I'm not sure sorry, best thing to do is go on a font generator website, type in the text you want and look at the different fonts available and then download it, it's easy, thank you ❤️
Can you pls tell me which paint to use. Can I use acrylic paint
Hi, you can use acrylic paint yes, I use wall or wood paint on the wood and then i do the lettering in acrylic paint
@@RedRockingBird 😀😀
@@RedRockingBird i did it with fabric paints and its fading what should i do plz hlp me ...its urgent😟
@@Itsme_Anuz can you go over it with something more permanent before it fades, acrylic paints or marker
Can you use regular house paint for the background?
Yes I do, more thinner coats better than 1 thick, if in doubt if it's cheap paint then I sometimes add a bit of white craft glue into it, you really don't need very much of either. I then spray a craft varnish over the top at the very end once all is dry.
Red Rocking Bird awesome, thank you!
@@Lifetalkswithbb you're welcome, give it a try
What kind of paper did you use? Is it regular White A4 paper or wax paper.
Hi, thanks. Regular white paper, it doesn't need to be anything special as it's the pencil/graphite that transfers over
What font did you use?
If you google 'font generator' and type in your word you can see it in all different fonts and select one, this is something like 'great day' I can't remember the exact one. Enjoy your project
Is it water resistant??
you could paint in a polyurethane varnish and that should be ok
What is this paint
