It's so easy to tape off the door hinges before painting, especially on a 60,000 dollar car. Other than that and the cloudy gauge lenses it's a nice looking car.

My buddy had the exact same Chevelle. 396, Hurst 4-speed. Beautiful dark green. There was an issue with the number on the Block not match the other numbers. It was a factory mistake. It should have been sold at auction . But , He sold the car $44,000. never saw it rain nor snow. 49000 miles. bought a 1985 Daytona Charger. Built to the max. I don't know what the power plant was. It had a lot of balls . He demolishing it within 6 months. Leaving a car show. Running into a brand new Ford Mustang . The kid only had it for 7 days . They both were totaled. Should of have kept the Chevelle!!!!

Jeff being a Chev mechanic, do you remember the main differences between the 396 engines - 325, 350 and 375 horse? Was it mainly cam changes? The 375 horse version was the solid lifter version and almost identical to the 425 horse version in the 65 Corvette is that correct? Thanks for your videos, I appreciate the demonstration
DRJIVAN Yes, the L78 396/375 had solid lifters, full race cam, square port heads, aluminum intake, and dual feed Holey carburetor and 4 bolt mains. The others did not...

Anyone that truly knows these motors stock from the factory almost every big block or small block chevy dodge and ford made...they all made more power than advertised so this 396 from the factory was dynoed to about 5500rpm. alot of old school v8s could Rev out to 6500rpm roughly but rarely did they dyno them that high from the factory. This 396 from gm would have made 375hp to roughly 400 or more realistically balls out

Yes, with the headers, exhaust, and real cold air induction it would be 375 HP. But the L78's were really 425 HP. Down played for insurance by Chevrolet...
That dash board is trimmed wrong 1970 chevelle ss did not have silver/chrome accent around the directionals and the guages should be tinted green along with the shift/gear indicator
ASKING WAY TO MUCH FOR A POOR INTERIOR. GAUGES ARE SO FOGGY AND gauge cluster IS CRACKED AND CENTER console is not in good shape. The most is $30-35,000 .... no video on how the under body looks....

I had this car except for 2 things, mine was a 1969 and mine was the 375 hp from factory. Nice looking car!!!

Vacuum, when running there is high vacuum until you step on the throttle, vacuum drops and flap opens.
