I am receiving my controller today for my 2022 RWD. I think that it is easier to access from the engine bay. Last week (to verify before I bought the device) I removed the plastic cover by taking out the allen screws (I think there are 4 + 3). Four of them hold the plastic cover and the other three the outside blade that goes around the glass.
@@krazyk86cu here is my answer after installing it. if anyone wants to take the time and do everything you did to install it.......... that is one way to do it. I will tell you how I did it. ** Don't follow the video that the instructions tell you to follow to install this device, It is 100% outdated. It is worthless if you own a 2022 R8. ** Take off the three 25T screws to remove the plastic guard installed between the glass engine cover and the car body. ** Take off the three Allen screws to remove the plastic/carbon fiber guard inside the engine bay. ** Take off the plastic half turn screw with a big flat screwdriver. ** The plastic/carbon fiber guard can be placed aside and you still have room to get both arms to reach the valve. ** No need to disconnect the hydraulic piston that hold the glass engine cover. ** All these steps take about 5 minutes. ** You are correct when you mentioned that the solenoid where this device should be installed is the right most of the two. ** With a flat screwdriver you can push the tab to disconnect the plug where the new device will be plugged in. ** Once the plug is disconnected, the plug side is easy to connect to the new device. The other "half" where the new device will plugged in is hard to see. You have to move the black vacuum hoses with your fingers. They are very soft and easy to push aside. ** This is the most difficult step. I grabbed the other end of the device and with my right arm I "felt with my fingers where the plug should go. It is not difficult to align it. Once it is plugged in you can hear the click of the tab letting you know that is in and locked in position. **I extended the ground cable that came with the device to reach an easier bolt with a good ground. **I wrapped the new device with a velcro strap. ** Done! ** It took me about 15 minutes. ** The sound with the valves open is now heard across the whole RPM range. Very pleasant.
Bro, thank you so much for the explanation you wrote. Saved my life. Never thought a random RUclips comment will help me so much. I can confirm this is much easier to do from the engine bay instead of tire wall. Initially didn’t work because I plugged into the left connector but finally found the correct one after reading your comment properly again.
@@pablob4390 hello, I also have a 22 R8 just purchased the valve system controller. I am having trouble with one part if you can reply and I can send you my contact info please.
Great video brother I also got the valve controller for my BMW M5. It works great. I seen that people were able to connect the controller to their home link on the mirror which controls the garage door openers. Have you been able to do that? If so, what are the steps cause I can’t seem to get it to work
Are you able to use the OEM button controls/modes when it's in off/closed mode or is the exhaust steering wheel button worthless now? Ideally I'd want full open and then the ability to put it in comfort mode or something to close the valves without having to play with the fob until wanting it full open again.

You must have some long arms

Sweet video dawg
With the 2022 facelift R8, if lost the burble when you release the foot pedal below 5000 rpm. Does this valvetronic brings it back?

Does that override the sport exhaust button behavior so that valves are always open instead of being closed based on the RPM ?
Correct. They are full open all the time with this valve controller
@@krazyk86cu thanks for confirming, I’ll add that to my mod list.
@@krazyk86cu When does it reset? When уоu press the fob button? Or when уоu restart the car?
