Some of these people clearly haven’t watched the other videos where you talk about driving with a CDL for 10 years.... “Gotta learn to shift better” dang y’all, calm down, he just got the truck. Tell me you can jump into any new truck and not tickle a single gear. I highly doubt it
Oh my goodness that is fantastic Todd .Shes a big truck and in amazing condition and not too new so Im guessing not a load of un necessary electronics and junk. I am so pleased for you, shes a beauty
I remember when Andrew and Brandon got their big trucks. And their learning curve. I had a tandem briefly. Too big to get in most of my jobs. Now I have a F-550 and a 99 C7500(like Wilbur)
I've been driving one of those "one stack mack with a window in the back" for many years, they are gutless, but reliable as all hell. Good luck with it sir!!
Dude I drove those Macks for years...leave the jake brake ON it will go into gear instantly [as you let your foot off the throttle, then you must quickly resume throttle after it goes into gear] with slight hand pressure on the shifter...you'l get use to it, I can see its your first rodeo in that truck. Thanks for posting brought back memories to an old driver.
I can't believe how expensive older trucks have gotten in the last 10 years. I bought a 1991 Ford LN9000 5 axle dump truck in 2010 with a 18 foot dump bed 52,000 pound rears and two 20,000 pound lift axles and a 20,000 pound steering axle with super singles with double power steering and a 3406B Cat engine @425 horsepower and 13 speed for $9500 and in 2011 i bought a 1998 379 Pete with a 550Hp Cat and 18 speed for $16,500 and today both are worth at least twice what I paid for them!
Noowww your talking. Can't go wrong with a 80s-90s Mack truck. Very reliable. I have a '84 Mack u series single axle tractor with a phelan lowboy. EM6 Mack motor with a 9speed road ranger. Very strong ol truck.
Awsome truck. Those Macks are bad to the bone, tough as heck. They ride a little rough but will haul the mail. I've drove trucks in the moutains of North Carolina for over 20 years you need a reliable truck that can handle the tougher conditions of hills and red clay. The haters in there flat land have no idea. Lol
grinding gears makes my teeth hurt lol. i drove a retired Werner truck that had a cat and an 9 speed Eaton fuller. Volvo with a condo sleeper. miss driving and the open road. when life was rough the open road was calming and very relaxing. great vid and congrats on the dump . macs a great truck.
Todd I just wanted to tell you that I appreciate you keeping your videos about your Excavating work. That's what I enjoy watching on my RUclips time. Thanks again. Keep em coming! 🙋
Preselect that low to high split and your synchronizer will last longer. Flip it up while you're still in 4th then come out and go to 5th. The Jake is two stage, low is three cylinders and high is all six. Hard to beat the old R's for what you do. That mechanical E7 engine was hard to beat. As long as there a little fuel and oil in it it'll get the job done!
I can’t even begin to tell you how much time I have in one of those ! We have a lot of them here . you’re gonna love it.The Trunnions Always need to be reimbursed. Even on the walking beam Hendricksons.. It’s Common
Congrats brother. Love the truck and look forward to see what you will do with her. Awesome to see you growing and expanding. I think you have a good one...she sounds fantastic.
I drive an R model at work when we do wet batch and heavy. It’ll take off on 4th empty all day. It’ll take off in 3rd loaded as well. Things a beats. They hold together better then the newer Mack granites
I had a 98 International that I had the 530 DT engine Spicer 10-speed tri axle dump truck and I run it for about 250 or 300 thousand miles sold it and bought me an 2016 International with the Allison 6-speed automatic! Spoilled Plum rotten now. Nothing quite like an old Mack! you got yourself a great truck there!
Much better on the mpg and the earth than all the low mpg emissions nonsense. Praying you can haul more tons of road bond per trip than ever before. Your unstoppable brother. Love the broadcasts. Keep um coming.
Aloha Todd , Looking good buddy , congratulations on The Mack Daddy . Thanks for shooting straight and grinding some gears , Reality is a real thing . Your doing better than most . Everytime you change up it takes a few hours to change your muscle memory from shifting Wilber and now the Big Iron . Great material . Mahalo
Blood sweat and a good old!!! Mack and dont forgot to do a mike Simon special exhaust lol. hope the truck put you and your family in much happier place for the future
Sorry to see old Wilbur go but I think you found an excellent replacement that will serve you well with the capacity increase. While not necessarily being the most efficient the old mack trucks make up for it time and time again in dependability.
Sweet dump truck! Please make a video explaining why you went with a double axle, how it’s going to help your business, positives and negatives, etc. thanks!
When you said your were going to a bigger truck, I didn't expect the jump to a tri-axle. Good for you! I'm still looking for my first 'real' dump truck. I've had three one tons, looking at a c7500 right now.
Thing sounds great. How many miles? If it’s not too much, that’s a deal for $30k. Again thanks for sharing costs and prices. I wish others would so we all know. A guy told me the other day I paid WAY too much for my first excavator brand new. Got the best deal around from dealers for a new machine, so lesson learned .... buy slightly used over new ... and in the sweet spot of hours if you can. Then get a lot of life for little initial investment.
Some of these people clearly haven’t watched the other videos where you talk about driving with a CDL for 10 years.... “Gotta learn to shift better” dang y’all, calm down, he just got the truck. Tell me you can jump into any new truck and not tickle a single gear. I highly doubt it
Especially when he’s not using the clutch but those old 15 speeds shift beautiful
Who likes to tickle gears? I like mine ground up like my beef😂😂😂
Something about that engine sound, exhaust sound, that shifting, that flat top steering wheel. Nice!
Oh my goodness that is fantastic Todd .Shes a big truck and in amazing condition and not too new so Im guessing not a load of un necessary electronics and junk. I am so pleased for you, shes a beauty
Love seeing businesses grow! I hope she earns her keep and is a great addition for you.
I remember when Andrew and Brandon got their big trucks. And their learning curve. I had a tandem briefly. Too big to get in most of my jobs. Now I have a F-550 and a 99 C7500(like Wilbur)
Congratulations! With a little work it will be a awesome truck!
I've been driving one of those "one stack mack with a window in the back" for many years, they are gutless, but reliable as all hell. Good luck with it sir!!
I used to drive an old R-model. Thing was a beast.

Good buy Todd got 1988 Mack tractor that we r restoring. Also love 2 hear that turbo whinnying!!!!!
I can't believe how expensive older trucks have gotten in the last 10 years. You can thank the government for that with them mandating all the unreliable emissions systems on the new trucks.
Noowww your talking. Can't go wrong with a 80s-90s Mack truck. Very reliable. I have a '84 Mack u series single axle tractor with a phelan lowboy. EM6 Mack motor with a 9speed road ranger. Very strong ol truck.
Congrats on the new (to you) truck! Hope it aids in making your business easier! Can’t wait to see you put it to work!
Your last trucks were named for aviation pioneers/greats.
If I may suggest some potential names.
Howard (for Howard Hughes)
Hoove (for Bob Hoover)
Todd good luck with your sweet new ride Mack has some strong rear ends.
Nice addition 👍
YES!! I love this Mack and Mack in general. Congratulations, bud!

Good old reliable Mack getting the job done!
The old macks are solid, my boss has 4 2019 macks and they are trash. He had the same year RD and I swear it would climb up a tree lol
Congratulations, good luck with it all.
Todd I just wanted to tell you that I appreciate you keeping your videos about your Excavating work. That's what I enjoy watching on my RUclips time. Thanks again. Keep em coming! 🙋
Thanks, will do!
Mo axles.......Mo problems. Your going to need a shop that you can pull it into to work on it.
Looks like you made a good choice. Mack's are good dump trucks. It always takes a little getting used to a different truck. Good job
Congratulations on your new truck, what an asset to your business
Congrats Todd,!on the MACK, I am sure your going to have more big jobs open to you.. keep on digging!

Congrats on the new rig! Keep doing what you do 🍻
Well wear Doug. It looks like a beast of a rig. Think you should name it Mad Mack
That’s a clean unit! I drive a single axle 2010 International. Wish like hell I could get myself in an older truck.
Awesome truck though. Will do everything you need it to! Now no need to subcontract your hauling! Good job!
You got that right!

Nice truck. Really enjoy your videos. Keep up the hard work.
Thanks, will do!
Congratulations on the truck remember in NC you have 3/10 of a mile to raise the axle before you turn and 3/10 of mile to lower it after your turn
Thanks for the tips!
So glad you got a Mack. That’s a great truck.
Nice looking rig there buddy
A smack! I love the R models! That’s such a cool truck. Really happy for you Todd
