That definitely IS a cut of some of the star wars theme. It's been modified slightly but they were definitely using some of the music from episode III to make it..
The Classic Monday Night theme of the 70's, with Howard Cosell et alii, commencing at 5:38 is one of the great classic NFL themes, and I believe used in some of their historical videos too ... ? ------------------------------------------ Thanks for including the MNF theme of the latter 80's and 90's too.
But you did leave out the present Thursday Night Theme. ....? And actually for a few years Monday night had a song, too, similar in style and formatting to "Sunday Night" (with Faith Hill, or whatever her names is}, and after they gave up the "Are You Ready for Some Football" theme.... -------------------------------------------------------------- But yes, the original MNF theme is one of the NFL's classic themes.
CNN used it for their Headline News ID in that late 80's early 90's and it reminds me of my grandpa and I want a digital copy of it. What's the name of it boss?
It wont be. Even though they chopped it like a cabbage, that's the original, the best one. Although, ESPN' s new version is pretty decent, the predecessors were crap.
Best theme song by far (in my opinion) is NFL FOX, the way the trumpets and brass play at the beginning gives me goosebumps, it makes it seem like an epic battle is about to take place
MNF on ABC, now used on ESPN, I'm pretty sure, will always reign as the undisputed champ of intro themes. Dont know how to explain it, but that theme is the only one that really builds suspense, especially before a meaningful game with an announcer filling the audience in on the tale of the tape of the two teams about to square off.
Thanks for posting- this was awesome! It gets me pumped up for the upcoming season. I agree with those who said the CBS NFL theme music is the best. GO NINERS!!
187 possession letter from my doctor has advised me to take it easy for a few minutes before coming to America and I woke you up that being the case of my mind I was there to take care of March 41!!!!!!!!! we are all set 187 mode.
The 3:43 theme is much better and I'm pissed off that when I try to find it by searching Monday Night Football theme on here, all I get is either the stupid one you like or the Hank Williams song.
To be clear ABC and ESPN are both owned by The Walt Disney Company. In 2005 when NBCUniversial gained the rights to SNF on NBC, Disney merged ABC’S Spots division into ESPN on ABC. With that they moved MNF to ESPN and ratings have declined for over a decade! They still have a chance for ratings to climb back with 3 additional MNF games, and 2 playoff games simulcasting on ESPN and ABC, and ABC getting the super bowl rights back for 2026 and 2028! Personally I think they should just move MNF back to ABC full time! On week 13 MNF With the Bills and 49ers the viewership was at 14.2M!
When that fox came on woooooo!!!! LET'S GO SAINTS!!!!!! WHODAT!!!!!!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥⚜👆🏾MONDAY NIGHT always get me fired up!!!!! LET'S GO SAINTS!!!!!!WHODAT4LIFE!!!!!!
Watching the first quarter of the cowboys vs patriots game was like torture with brady being sacked so much. maybe patriots fans are spoiled, at least I am
Completely agree. He has been a great QB for most of his career, but hardly ever gets mentioned with Brady and Manning. The last couple games show what he is capable of when he gets good protection and good receivers, something Peyton Manning has been fortunate to have his entire career including college.
That's my point. In my opinion Ben Roethlisberger is is being surrounded by better players who can stop the pressure. If the Steelers can keep this up they might have a chance of atleast being AFC championship winners. Espeically with Antonio Brown. One of the best receivers in the league right now.
Does anyone know what the theme at 3:43 is called? I keep searching "Monday Night Football" theme and all I keep getting is the stupid "Heavy Action" theme.
The 70’s MNF is edited big time. It’s called Heavy Action by Johnny Pearson. It was just another sound clip back then. The track was used for the Super Bowl IX highlight film and you can hear it in its complete glory on RUclips.
I'm pretty sure I've heard every single one of these at least 50 times during my lifetime.
Yeah dude that's not a lot
Dude. You really don't watch football
William Grayson Look at his profile you worthless pos.
Michel Blancett Adorable. How's it feel to be a keyboard warrior? Who's my big, strong boy? You are!
Oh, gee thanks!
Sunday Night football on NBC sounds like something from Star Wars
That's because John Williams did it
I know right
That definitely IS a cut of some of the star wars theme. It's been modified slightly but they were definitely using some of the music from episode III to make it..
@@tyrionlannister4563 Well John WIlliams did both, so makes sense he'd reuse some compositions
Sounds like the Jedi Temple March

John G. Lewis This video was created before the Thursday night theme was made..
CNN used it for their Headline News ID in that late 80's early 90's and it reminds me of my grandpa and I want a digital copy of it. What's the name of it boss?
Truly! That is the 'NFL Theme' to me. It comes from the NFL film guys, but I wonder who the composer was.
I'm from the future and I'm here to tell you the song is called "Heavy Action" by Johnny Pearson.
@ 5:38 This one always gives me chills. Especially when its a get in or go home type of game
The classic MNF theme is still the best. Goosebumps...
Sunday night football theme gives me the goose bumps, gotta love John Williams.
this shit got me ready for Sunday
And monday and Thursday ._.
NBC's theme always reminded me of new trilogy StarWars songs.
yeah that would make sense
Yes you can't wait for the new movie
@@fml5910 no ones talking to you
john williams did it, so thats probably why
The second MNF theme at 5:39 is hard to beat.
It wont be. Even though they chopped it like a cabbage, that's the original, the best one. Although, ESPN' s new version is pretty decent, the predecessors were crap.
It would always have have Howard Cosell highlighting the best players on each team
I agree in 2024 12-27-2024
Best theme song by far (in my opinion) is NFL FOX, the way the trumpets and brass play at the beginning gives me goosebumps, it makes it seem like an epic battle is about to take place
Bob Trufant Hell yeah
Bob Trufant if you slow it down it gets even more epic
My favorite is Sunday Night Football
I agree 100 percent
I like fox and cbs
The Johnny Pearson Orchestra "Heavy Action". In 1971 it became ABC's Monday Night Football theme. It is hands down the best football theme song ever.
Expat, living abroad. This took me back! Miss all these theme songs!
Niner faithful forever!
CBS and the Fox themes are the most Iconic
That's because the same composer wrote it. :) John Williams wrote Star Wars and the NFL Sunday Night themes. He's a genius
I miss the ABC Monday Night Football Theme. Brings back memories of the 90's for me.
FOX has the best one. Great memories from that song.
This gets me so pumped its ridiculous
Love how everyone forgets that Sunday Night Football Music is from Star Wars.
3:41 oh my God, it's so cooool

For some unknown reason, the nfl has a surprisingly good taste in music 😂
thanks a lot for the help man, I managed to find it later last night.
It turned out to be the old NFL on ESPN theme
NBC sounds like star wars
+GlennCocoGuitar so dose CBS
John Williams composed it so that's probably why

FOX and NBC's Sunday Night Football make it HAPPEN!!! I get chills listening to it everytime!
First and second Themes are the Best. Well at least to me
this is where all the nfl fans go to relieve themselves getting anxious for the season to start... "need football! need football!"
3:43 All the way..the best theme evar, still gives me goosebumps.
Na,
@TotalMishap lol we don’t even have this theme song anymore 😂
I wish they had a video of just that theme. Just saying. Unless they do and I just didnt see it
Facts
Nope the one after 5:40 is the iconic goosebump one
This hits me right in the childhood/nostalgia button
Very cool and the end was the BEST part; GO STEELERS!!!!!!
E Renn LETS GO SIXBURGH
Great! Can Iask as someone who has been watching the NFL here in the UK since The start of TV coverage Sunday 7th November 1982
5:39 is what I think of, still, when I think of MNF intro
That one was THE BEST; and more so because it was when ABC broadcast it!
Really? Sounds more like a tune to a baked beans commercial.

the CBS theme sounds like something EPIC is about to go down
ABC Monday Night Football theme is amazzzzzzinggggggggg. I'd rather have ABC get monday night football back

CBS is the best one by far.
You barely hear the CBS theme unless you are a Chargers, Raiders, or Niners fan
