I feel like promoting alone in China this year was probably the biggest turning point for Yuqi's solo career and her growth as an artist (towards becoming someone who can fill up an entire stage alone and be able to nail it every single time) - I couldn't be prouder of her😢
She's already star in China tho... But she can't be a star w/O help of kpop music industry to gained her named ;; well tbh Chinese kpop idol can be a star now even when they left Korean music industry bcoz 1B POPULATION in China can already maked them be a rich maybe rich but let's say they would still be need Kpop bcoz KPOP is the big exposure in ASIA pop music to worldwide bcoz KPOP is more popular than Chinese music nor Cpop.... reason why yuqi still used and made English song than Chinese language song bcoz Chinese song are not even that popular compare to English and English can relate and well compare to Korean .... and guess even kpop idol who grow outside Korea they still prefer to release English music than Korean alone as I've said English music of them as solo makes them more see as who they are and connect to fans esp intl than their own language....
@@Lunafreya_Nox Not true, kpop witheld her talent. CUBE didn't even went all out promoting her solo debut. If CUBE was prepared to promote, Yuqi would have waited until she came back to South Korea, now she had to chip in and finance her solo debut herself, but luckily Jackson with his TEAM WANG produced her debut. GIDLE was never that popular in China, so Yuqi having a kpop background didn't help much. The music style of yuqi in China is totally different from that in GIDLE, so her popularity in China is all thanks to the talent of yuqi and not that of GIDLE nor KPOP. Also when CPOP was popular KPOP didn't even existed, you are delusional to say CPOP isn't popular in China, because CPOP its the major genre in China, duhhh.
I said this the day the mv came out. This proves that (not only) yuqi and the other members don't need cube to succeed. They can all on their own two feet long after cube screws up gidle.
@@Lunafreya_Nox No , CPOP is also one of the big genres out there , Cube barely promoted her solo debut , she's been promoting her songs in China alot more , thus her Douyin account promoting B&C more than (G)I-DLE's official account . She literally had so many sponsors left and right , always the face of Magazines , and in almost every celebrity event in China . Like the other reply said , if Kpop really was the reason she's able to "gain her name" she would've just waited to come back to Korea to debut , but NoOOo , Cube didn't do shit for her debut except shitty promotion . Even Weibo promotes her songs better (and also Chinese members of other kpop groups also helped along with other big names) She has both an English ver and a Chinese ver for both of her songs , She mostly promotes with Chinese ver in China . Not everything is because of Kpop . Yes most of her fans are Nevies , but also ALOT of her stans are Chinese . I don't even see Chinese shows talking about Yuqi as a member of (G)I-DLE. (only Keep Running and that's even when she was first introduced and that's it. And also , idle is only mentioned when SHE starts talking about her thing in kpop and her life in interviews or shows)
Yes she first went famous in Korea as a member of (G)I-DLE , but her promoting solo in China was def a big boost for her career . Same with Minnie in Thailand .
There's a reason why most Chinese idols mainly promote and stay in China bc it's a big boost for their career . The statement "She wouldn't be a star without the help of the Kpop industry" what did the Kpop industry do for her exactly ? What did the Kpop industry do for (G)I-DLE as a GROUP ? Even Idle had to debut by themselves bc their company wouldn't help them , they gained more popularity with Soyeon and Miyeon in K/DA (not even a kpop company , it's a VIDEO GAME company) , Minnie is one of the It celebs in Thailand , Shuhua just existing with her godly visuals and boom she's famous , not to mention she was resting so well in Taiwan without promotions etc etc . Soojin literally got artist of the month very early considering how long they've debuted compared to most if not all other idols who got AOTM . (Adding she not only has one studio choom dance perf vid , but TWO if not three if i'm not mistaken ) Soojin's fancams are always viral . Despite the whole scandal and her leaving (G)I-DLE . The news shocked people (it's even one of the big topics) and people are still talking about her positively even now . Soyeon also hit it well with her solo comeback , her album also doing well .
Very proud of Yuqi to make it big in China , all that time in China was worth it . Literally your statement is so delusional . Not to mention it's downgrading her potential and effort . Her promoting in China wasn't that easy for her , she had to join a whole survival show , she had breakdowns . she even had a whole scandal bc of a game in Keep Running and it caused a big stir . But it all went well in the end .

I've always known there was something about Yuqi. She had this aura about her that stood out like Soyeon, but Soyeon had more music videos and what not. And now Yuqi is a powerhouse. I am glad she is shining and doing something with her talents.

God bless the 100% clear live vocals. You can tell that there’s minimal backing track and no autotune (yes they can autotune live singing real-time). It’s just Yuqi’s raw powerful voice. My ears have been blessed.
P.S. I heard that the Chinese govt recently BANNED autotune and especially pitch-correction in live singing.
I don’t personally support this. I think some pitch-correcting is fine, if the singer is also dancing on stage. But just know that it’s now illegal in China for singers to pitch-correct their live singing. What you hear is what you get.
So I guess some of the Cpop Idols who can’t sing very well just need to find another career path now. But not our Yuqi!!🥰
